Recently bought an 08, the recall was not done and Honda no longer honors the recall. There is a small leak and I have been told I need the new motor. Car runs great though. I was also told by the Honda dealership that if the previous owner tried to get the recall done without it having any issues at the time, they wouldn’t replace the motor.

The engine had an extended warranty, not a recall. I have a 2006 LX, owned since new. Now at 330k km, and still going with no plans to take it off the road. No engine problems. Clear coat is a problem. Very easy to diy maintain. At this point it's looking like it's headed to 500k km.

The civic in this video is still on the road at 175k miles. I sold it to a close family friend, for their son to use as his first car. I have every intention of buying it back once he’s ready to move onto something newer. I expect this car to easily crack 300k miles, now that all issues are squared away. The car had a very disappointing journey to its first 100k miles, plagued with almost every recall these years had, but once everything was addressed, it was smooth sailing from 100-175k miles when I sold it. Just routine maintenance.

The paint is also too old as well, I believe it was a 7 year warranty. My paint was too old at the time of filming this video to be covered as well, that’s why I went the plasti dip route. Looking back now, if I could do it again, I would much rather spend the $600 or so on a Maaco paint job instead.

The car will develop excess rear negative camber as the springs sag with age. That will lead to increased tire wear. After market adjustable control arms will improve it. A better solution, perhaps, may be to address the root problem and replace the springs. Or do both.

    All cars have some issues.
The 2006 was the worst for the cracked engine block issues.
The 07 was better than the 06 the 08 was better yet.
The 09 was a no issue as far as the cracking engine block and had very few issues.
The bottom line is all cars have some issues but the civic is a solid car.
Engine mounts are a maintenance issue with any car.
Paint fading also happens especially in Sunny areas.
    Most mechanics really like civics.

For the people who seem to have a difficult time with reading comprehension of the title, or those who simply didn't watch the entire video. In no way, am I saying that this car is unreliable, as far as reliability goes for your average vehicle. This video was made to simply show that it is, however, the most unreliable generation Civic that Honda has ever made. It is unreliable FOR A HONDA CIVIC.. You will be hard pressed to find another generation Honda Civic, with the amount of common problems and recalls that this car has. It literally says in the title of the video, that you should still own one. We would not and do not recommend any vehicles on this channel, that are known for problems, or would cause people headaches. In fact, we said we'd only recommend you buy this car if these problems have already been accounted for. Run a simple Google search on the recalls.

I found information that Cracked blocks were a problem from Hondas manufactured in Mexico bad quality control Over there Luckily mines was manufactured in Canada 🇨🇦 im from US Though 80,000 miles on mine i just bought it 2 weeks ago it is the Freaking best 2006 white civic Coupe
You just Diagnosed one problem for me and that’s definitely gonna be the motor mounts Car shakes Like crazy When im Starting up cold start after that Its good but it needs to be done Because its not safe / annoying
Sun visors Ehh dont care i have a windshield Window Tint
Stereo has been upgraded with Gps Apple car play And with 80,000 its not even broken in yet I have a looong ways to go

Yeah the motor mounts are just cheap on these cars, but they’re also cheap in price to replace so its not a big deal. I’m still going problem free at 162k since all these issues listed in the video have been taken care of. I also upgraded to a pioneer double din head unit since this video was made. Best decision ever! Completely transformed the look the the dash and sounds great. Good luck with your 8th gen, I’m sure it’ll do you just fine.

Didn’t watch the entire video, huh? Unless you just missed the part at the end, where we say you should own one, because it’s a great vehicle… it’s unreliable FOR A CIVIC. Hence the title of the video.

    • @twoguysonecar6321
      @twoguysonecar6321  2 года назад

When the person in question spending the money, is my wife, then yeah I'm complaining. The car was with us from 50k miles to 170k miles. The 50k-100k mile journey was very rough, with many things breaking that shouldn't need to be replaced that early. 100k-170k was much smoother as a Civic should be. Great car, Wish I still owned it as a commuter.

I have an 08 Honda Civic with 140,000 miles on it yes the sunvisor suck but I haven’t had no problems at all whatsoever with the car it’s a five speed built in Canada I have been asked numerous times if I sell it and the answer is no if you want to be happy bye Jappy 👍🏼😃 just change oil and filters.
