Today mummy ji, mami ji, and our massi ji took me out solo for a little shopping trip in Ludhiana to get some suits and jewellery, and impromptu decided to get my nose pierced as I've been contemplating it for a long time so thought why not go for it! Let me know what you guys think of the piercing and if you are a fan or not, I'm still trying to get used to it myself! But think i genuinely do love it. We had so much fun together on this day out without the kids and hubby and just spending some quality time together.

It is usual to pierce the nose in the crease above the nostril because the cartilage is thinnest there. And probably hurts least, goes through quickest. In the northern states of India women have their noses pierced on the left side. In the south, it's either the right side or both. Pretty spectacular nose pins too!

Nose rings beautiful, my mum done mine at home in the UK 1993. Omg so village style, she put mashed pan on it afterwards, before that she used mustard oil. Its so Bengali. She did sterilise the needle thank god❤ thats a pretty colour maroon wine colour.

Also do not live in the fallacy that there aren't people living like medieval times mentally, a lot of those thought structures haven't been addressed in today's time so yes there's a lot of old thinking that still plays out throughout the world. It looks cute, I just hope you didn’t do it bc of peer pressure. If you’re doing it to fit in I’ll tell you that we Sikhs aren’t even supposed to pierce any part of our body. I had to force my parents to get my ears pierced as a pre teen. Also, I got my nose pierced as an adult and they made fun of they way it made me look. Traditional Sikhs don’t have nose or ear piercings as part of their culture. I stopped wearing my nose ring and the piercing closed on it’s own in a couple of months and I’m thankful for that bc I was really just following a trend back then. My point is- you can take it out if you want to. It’s not offensive.
