I have a c300 just like yours and the problem it has is that at random times, a menu will automatically pop up showing the turn off, restart, and sleep buttons, it then turns off after that.
mine did that and it was a diconnect problem when you plug in the battery. I found if I pushed the plug in tightly, it would loose the connection, but I pulled out the plug enough to where I seen the power connection was ,made and I taped the chord from the battery to the laptop so that it would stay in place and that worked for me.
Brilliant, I had the same issue and a couple of the chassis screws on the underside needed a 1/4 - 1/2 turn to fully tighten as you mentioned. It is now fixed 🙂
THANK YOOOUUUUUUU I HAD TO ENDURE IT SINCE AUGUST 14. (We were allowed to keep school chrome books for 40 dollars) Oh. I lost two screws, but found two that were almost the exact same, and now i need to unscrew it. Shoot. NVM I played around with the screws then it worked. Best tutorial ever.
yep! and sometimes it will just shut down unexpectedly full battery, newish laptop, not overheating- I do suspect it's connected to the "sleep when closed" feature (likely the hardware, not a software issue)
Sadly, tightening the screws did not work. Mine turns off when I'm not even touching it, and it is sitting on a flat surface like a table. Sometimes, it won't go back on, and tries for 2 or 3 times, then I give up and just plug it in.
Might be a hardware problem... lose wire. Did you take off the keyboard like in the video? Maybe look for something out of the ordinary or it could be a bad battery or something.
It worked for me too thanks I tried power wash and Chromebook recovery a few times thinking it was software related since it wasn't getting very far, only to login screen.
Mine has the exact same thing. Thightening the screws tomorrow. My other chromebook is even acting weirder. When you log in, keyboard works fine. But after a while (from seconds to minutes) the keyboard acts like the ctrl key is pressed. So every letter i type is ctrl + that letter... Sent it back for repair today. Guess my switch from Windows laptops to Chromebooks will be short lived...
Those google ads for chromebooks make them seem so much better that’s they actually are.... granted if your paying 1000 for either windows or chrome is gonna prolly be good.
@@ZackEberly yeah, must say they where not the cheapest. One was 600, the other 800. Oh, btw. Thightening the screws worked on the expensive one. They where very loose.

Hey I see you're in need of some help this just happened to me this morning here's how I fixed it if your still in need of a solution. First thing you want to do is get a USB drive no less than four gigabytes then you want to download a fresh install of Chrome OS on to the drive, it's acting up is because you're OS operating system is damaged once you have downloaded Chrome OS onto your USB flash drive hold down escape refresh and power for about 20 seconds it should bring you to a screen that should tell you you're operating system is damage and to plug in any USB you might have to fix it then plug in the USB and let it do its thing. That's how I fixed it however if this does not work or it's not showing this message on your screen it could be extra static inside of your battery in which case you'll have to unplug it from the motherboard hold down the power button for about a minute to release any static that might be built up in it then plug it back in and try turning on your computer. Also in some cases I saw a simple factory reset did the trick so I recommend trying to do that first before any of these other methods and if that doesn't work try the other two options. Hope this helps!
My problem with my chromebook is its shutting down when it lagged, watching in yt and going in facebook and getting disconnected on the wifi and it even shutting down when i dont have tabs on i already reseted the data of my chromebook and it did nothing when im signing in to my account its shutting down and i cant connect to the wifi...does that mean its broken?pls help me i really need it for my school😭😭😭pls respond mine is Samsung chromebook os

It's that for me too but I don't want to take apart the school's laptop. Thank you though.
You don’t have to. Just tighten the screws

Nice my friend! It works for me to. The screws were not tight enough, I added one turn for some of them without forcing :/

I think it doesn’t work because it has an update that’s what I think happened to my chromebook
I accidentally tapped the corner with my knee and it turned off and I thought I completely broke it lol
11:04 i got a crack/chip there where it might break off if i hold it there, could that be a cause of mine reetting?
9 months later? How's it holding up?
Still working great. I've tighten the screws up twice now. I think they get loose when i drop it.

I believe there is a setting for when you put your Chromebook in sleep mode.
My chroombook keeps shutting down every time I close it. What do I do because it's the school's chroombook not mine?
How is that a problem. There is a setting to change what closing the lid does. Mine turns off when I shut the lid.

You might just have internal damage or a lose battery

hi my sisters is doing it but hers has a loose wire she thinks it was me cause i was near it when it happed what do i do
See where that loose wire connects to and maybe re-solder the wire.

i did a update and not when i close my chromebook and wait a hr it restarts when i open it
