- Welcome everyone. Today we are taking a walking tour around the Grand Sunset Princess Resort. I stayed here for one week the first week of November and this is my second time staying here.
This is a very large resort and its a lot of walking from the lobby to the pools and beach. There is a shuttle that transports people from the lobby and will drop you off close to your room.
This walk starts at the entrance of the resort and we will walk along the lobby, main walkway, garden side, pools, beach and I will show you where the restaurants are. It’s a narrated tour.

@@WeGoPlacesTours I don't remember the resort. It was on the beach. One of the 'all inclusive' packages. Thankfully most of the food was included🤣 The drinks were extra😥
That’s ok. Lovely when the beach is right there… some resorts don’t have that. I think now most of the resorts have drinks included. 😊

Hey Chris this looked gorgeous, I love the look of the food and bar area that does night time entertainment. Also the taco stand sounded amazing! Great tour around here but whoh Chris crocodile fencing to keep them out ? Hehe. The pool area with the palm trees was beautiful too. Great place ~ Anna 👍

I just got back from here last Wednesday. I didn't want to leave. Went from eating breakfast on the beach, to shoveling snow in 15 degree weather, in South Dakota, literally in the same day. Already planning to come back. Everyone was so nice. Thank you for sharing.

That is a Beautiful place!!! I really like the pools and the Coatis. I read the Coatis are like Big Brothers to raccoons because they resemble each other. Mexico also has Ring-tailed Cats that are a close relatives of the raccoon.

@@WeGoPlacesTours We have stayed a few times at the Bahia Principe group of resorts (Bahia Akumal, Bahia Coba...) and then at the Iberostar group. Now we were actually looking for something in the Cancun area as we've never been there. Was there a lot of seaweed when you went there?
Oh nice! I heard those are nice resorts too. I stayed in Cancun a few years ago. We stayed at the Riu Palace Peninsula, it was very beautiful there.
There was seaweed only one day after a tropical storm went through the rest of the days the beach was clean, they do try their best to get rid of the seaweed.

Between yourself and Andy and Rachel, I’m dreaming of a holiday to Mexico! 🇲🇽 🍹 The palm trees remind me of northern Queensland (we’re in South East Queensland). The hotel interior looks beautiful, the open air lobby, the white geometric pillars. Nice walking, talking tour of this place.

For those followers who haven’t been before….
The nearby city is pronounced PLY-aw dale Car-main. NEVER Play-a….as Christine says it.
The animals are pronounced coe-AW-tee-ace. I hear the locals say coe-aw-teece. NEVER Coat-eeze as Christine says.
And yes they are messy because stupid folks feed them and also leave room service trays in the hallways after eating.
One cannot travel from one end of the resort to the other without seeing wildlife and exotic birds. The mangrove is a protected area.
On a scale of 1 to 10 for greenery and wildlife this resort is 11 !

I do not know about a bus station. I did see an Xcaret bus coming to the resort for those taking a tour. I would ask someone in the lobby of the hotel, I’m sure they can help. Hi Christine, that place looks absolutely stunning! I'm looking at booking the sunset side as well, a lot cheaper. Do you know if I could still use ALL the amenities from the riviera side as well? I'm trying to figure out why the price difference is $200 between them. Thank you!
Hi Jelena. It’s a lovely resort. From what I remember restaurants, gym, pools are shared by the 2 sides. The only thing we didn’t get to use was the ice cream shop because it’s the family club and certain smaller pools are platinum only but it didn’t affect our stay..we loved it there. I’m not sure why the one side is a difference in cost. If you decide to go have a wonderful time! Thanks so much for your comment. 😊👣🇨🇦

Hi. Ju Ju. I would recommend it here in my opinion. It’s lovely. I can’t tell you about the nightlife because I’m not one that goes out for that but there is the town where a lot of tourists go to 5th Avenue and there are many bars…restaurants there and also Cancun for the nightlife. The resort puts on show at night in the theatre also. Also I saw a place a walk down the beach called Copa Cabanas that looks fun. Hope this helps you. Maybe google those places i mentioned? Is it safe to travel alone to the nearest town? Going to this exact resort on Dec 7th.
Hi. We walked to the 7/11 which is a 20 minute walk from the resort. We felt safe doing that. We also went to the town by cab. My tip would be to stick to the tourist area and don’t walk alone at night. Hope this helps you. Hope you have a wonderful time. Thanks so much for stopping by. 😊👣🇨🇦

Hi Christine, looks a lovely place to stay. It looks quite hermit friendly if they'd let one stay. Probably a bit plush for a hermit. I also thought you was talking about me when you said cute and weird then realised it was the racoon type animals you was on about 🤣 The weather looked fabulous and the pool area looked great.
