i have never seen moga this mad before. genshin did something by putting these scrabs on invisible places, they even infiltrate on the sand. good luck cyno havers.

Well his reasoning is understandable, I already pre-farmed Cyno because I was guaranteed, I thought the ascension collecting was gonna be the easy part, until I realized that they were located in the desert and they are scattered all away from each other. In my own world, I only collected 30, I went to my friend's world and only collected 24. In a total of 3-4 hours, I only collected 54, usually I would get 100-120 ascension material in less than 40 minutes, but this one just took it too far, collecting this bugs made me so mad that I left Genshin just to finish my schoolworks, I was supposed to play Genshin to release stress, but it made me even more frustrated lmao.
By the time I get my Cyno to his last ascension, it would have been 3.2 already.
Onikabutos were just the introduction to suffering, scarabs is were the real damnation is at
At this point, I'm just taking my time to raise Cyno, I rather keep the little sanity I have left
Bruh, onikabuto are piece of cake. There are tons of onikabuto and actually good chunks of them in one spot. It didn't even take me 30 mins to collect enough onikabuto to level up my itto from 1-90.

The worst thing is that some people do not have Tighnari. It is disgusting how hard it is to get scarabs, and even the redcrest for candace was hard, because they're scattered in weird places as well
I searched for the redcrest almost an eternity 😢 on my way I found a lot of scarabs. Guess there is an algorithm for the opposite you‘re looking for 😂

nah, it was alright without him. granted, i haven't started quests yet, so I only picked overworld ones, but it took me less then an hour with map and walking/gliding, since I didn't have my map unlocked. and I've seen plenty of cacti, though didn't pick all of them up since I don't have candace
Redcrest hard? I found like 70 something redcrests while searching for scarabs (granted I have Tighnari but still) those redcrests are all over the place and I swear there's more than scarabs or at least it feels like it
there’s only 76 scarabs on a world and like a good 45 is on the surface, so technically farming those on the surface are a lot easier than doing a long ass quest and not get a lot.

the fact that scarabs dont have the sparkling effect like the other ascension mats is really infuriating because you cannot see them as easily
I definitely agree that the scarabs are frustrating. I wouldnt be so salty about it if tighnari's passive actually worked consistently with these guys.

@@Rex13013 its not so much that it doesnt work, its that the range on it can be inconsistent. If you compare it to Klee's passive or even just Tighnari on any other material, they show up from further away on the map.
my guess its bc there are so many underground, they tweaked the range for scarabs specifically so they wouldnt show up until youre on the same level as them. (which could have been solved by adding CAVE MAPS but idk im not a game dev)
The scarabs are living creatures (you can even net them for the teapot), so they load in/out based on the character's range. So it's not Tighnari's passive not working, it's that they only show up when they load.

I think the interactive map should be directly integrated into the game.
god thank u thats the most frustrating thing ever, especially as a mobile player. even when i pull up a map on my ipad while im playing so i dont have to switch between map and the game, its still hard to find stuff since the locations arent always perfectly accurate

I thought the puzzles were a little easy but still very fun. I went through pulling an all nighter to try and get every puzzle done and they were fun they also didn't take that long though everyone has their strengths and weaknesses so I can definitely understand the frustration.
@@khatry_s Nah not really a waste it's fun unless you have trouble with them. The only reason I had trouble was because it took me a few minutes to find out how the clearance system worked. (This is the edit, it shows the period before the word find when I put it after the word worked not sure if that's just on my end or not though.)

@@d1tto232 its for content Moga wants to explore and discover everything BY HIMSELF so he can experience Genshin in an authentic manner. Nothing wrong with following Guides, but it just takes the experience away (subjective). Plus his aim here was to get Scarabs not do the Golden Slumber Questline

There are a lot above ground. I found almost 50 of them without going underground. Even still, finding them is difficult (I don't have tighnari). They're so small and blend in with the sand. The first time I ran around the desert I missed 2 pairs of beetles like 4 times. It really sucked the joy out of getting Cyno.
Edit: I tried going after the bugs I found yesterday and they didn't respawn. Another annoying problem.
I accidently scared one and even that made me a little frustrated because of how tedious they are to find.

even with tighnari it's still the sane pain looking fir those beacuse they are programmed like animals and enemies they don't load unless ur next to it and by then it just gets scared
I'm just lucky I have 3 friends who are skipping on cyno so I just asked to go in there world and take a few in 2 days only I have like 70 now . I also offered them a " feel free to come take what u need " in return

@@irsuyuu Sayu has a passive where animals don’t run away until you get them but I’m not too sure about scarabs cause I haven’t used Sayu to collect them.
lore player here, I absolutely LOVE this quest but I also absolutely understand why people would be mad at it. It's long af, sure but the characters are quirky enough to keep me going, there's a beeping robot named benben and woah, the king Deshret backstory I've been waiting for for over a month!? Niice. But that's coming from a person who actually deeply cares about the story and the sumeru quests are exhaaaaauuusting
its not even the story thats the issue for me, i think its interesting, but theres a point in completing the puzzles in there that im like... i dont know where i am, i forget what im supposed to be doing, i have no clue where i came from or where i should be going to, and theres isnt even any sort written out instructions i can refer to when that happens
@@wearmeout1 YES, that's awful. I finished the entire quest and tho the puzzles were really tiring I think the conclusion is totally worth it. I cried. Good story, hard puzzles

i’ve spent longer actually finding people who let me in their world, than finding the actual scarabs because they’re ALL UNDERGROUND
they're not, around 40 of them are on the surface, i maxed cyno on the first day, asking my friends to let me in their world, i only got the surface ones and it took 5 worlds

@@aleac0sta probably had someone else come in for their scarabs. I've had 4 people join already and had to send 2 off cause the scarabs had already been collected. Cyno havers honestly on a fix rn looking for their next scarab
@@aleac0sta it’s best to ask for them from ppl on ur friendslist. that way, you can message them beforehand and know whether or not they have scarabs! there’s a route of about 15 scarabs aboveground that are super easy to get to, so i recc farming those in a few different worlds :)

Actually, it's a lot easier to go to someone else's world and just pick up their scarabs to save your sanity and do things like story quests when you actually have the time for it.
This way, it was getting more and more frustrating for you because obviously, you didn't go there to do the quest
So having the help of friends or even just random people in coop is much better experience
Really assuming that alot of ppl have done all the quests and are also completely willing to let you take all of their resources when cyno just came out and everybodys farming him 🙃

Lol normally I feel like Moga is half joking when hes upset. Not this time. This felt like solid genuine fury.
It makes me sad when people whose job is Genshin feel like they have to end up rushing through quests to be able to level up characters quickly. It’s always going to feel like something bad if you’re just having to push through in the hope of reaching an end goal whereas for most normal players the fact that they’ve added in extra stuff so you can’t just rush through and have nothing left to do is actually a good thing.
I agree with this! But at the same time, I want to use my new characters for the new quests, so it kinda sucks being unable to level him up quickly enough despite having ALL the other mats 🤕

same i really got attached to the characters its a shame he may have been to focused on the scarabs and got too frusrated to be bothered with it
Seems that a lot of Genshin content creators are either Team Quest/Story Focus or Team Combat. Since I fall into the first team, I generally have a good time the longer the quest is. I seldom raise or pull for a character unless I like their personality. But hopefully he feels better getting to rant a bit.

What you're going through in this video is exactly why I'm taking my time with raising my Cyno. I know you kind of can't due to being a content creator, but I'm surprised you didn't just farm the worlds of followers with their permission.
Edit because I forgot to put it in: Just the scarabs on the surface, even skipping a few, was enough to get Cyno to lvl 60. I imagine 2-3 world would be enough to get him 80 for the raising video.

They were the most painful thing to farm for me. I just farmed the ones above ground that don't require any quest to be done. I could only find like 22 per world and i had to go to 7 other world to get enough
I got bad double that and after doing that in my world it was easy to get +200 in random worlds of people that didn't pull for him. Moga is just angry at himself b cause of pride he wants to do everything by himself because he is not stupid to follow guides or go to other people worlds to get resources even tough hi has more easy access thanks if his big audience.
It makes no sense that they release a brand new character and then make their material something that you have to unlock a whole new area for and then make it so that half of them are locked behind a crazy long quest.

Kazuha had limited area with GAA before Inazuma dropped. And everyone who got him had to get enough boss materials and ganodermas before GAA dissappeared or else wait for Inazuma to finally drop when everyone thought there won't be anything for him anytime soon lol. They do it not the first time but it is really frustrating to gatekeep.

I agree 100%, it was beyond unnecessary how hard they made getting these beetles.
I loved the ruins exploration. And to be fair isn't that how you would imagne the indiana jones experience. Just trying to keep getting further and looking everywhere to find something that can lead you further into the ruins/pyramids. I thought they captured that feeling pretty well. This side quest which is by far the biggest one in the desert is not even that bad (yes it has too much dialog but usually you can just read the first few line so that you get an idea what is going on). Nachtigal, the erimit daughter and father and the scolar might not be archon quest level characters but at least it is not a short quest where the characters are irrelevant.
Some people just want to turn off their brain when playing the game, and that's understandable
they captured the feeling of frustration and boredom but ig it's two things that describe genshin impact the most so it is not a surprise
Some people just want the goods especially the primogems. That's why they complain that much and it sucks.
the ruin exploration is fun but i do get frustrated few times (because im dumb) but hey, at least that eremite is daddy af 🛐
@@seyana5045 and i understand it. some people just want to collect characters. some people want to enjoy fighting experience (and i have absolutely not healthy amount of rage regarding mihoyo not giving us late game content) some want to explore. a good game is a game that has the ability to provide various kinds of content and mihoyo just cockblocking EVERYTHING with some stupid quest. oh you want to raise your new character? well spend 100+ hours going through this boring quest and only then you can do it

Have him lvl. 70, almost 80, and didn’t do any quests. Only unlocked most of the teleports on top, did not got underground yet and not planning to. Co-op really helps a lot an RUclips guides!

I did. And I only farm the beetles on the surface. You just need to find 3-4 ppl to let you farm. I'm more annoyed that I'm gatekeep from riding his weap lol
Yeah they need to do something about ascension material, the whole reason I skipped Itto is because no way am I running around grabbing one beetle at a time, and I’m skipping Cyno.
As a tip: there is a video on RUclips for a farming route, which gives you around 51 in 10 min, assuming that you have the teleportation points. However, about 10 of them are underground an need you to advance the quest. Aside from that, I can recommend joining other peoples worlds who don't have cyno. I collected 40 in my world because I dont have the quest yet either and I probably never will😅. But I joined a few people's worlds and asked them nicely if I could farm cynos materials and had him to lvl 85 after about 3 hours because I had to walk a lot in other people's worlds😅. Aside from that I totally get that farming these scarabs is infuriating though, so best of luck to everyone!!

As a Cyno haver myself, I never did that quest(Yet and I’m so f’ing looking at a guide after seeing this) and I got all my beetles 🪲 on the surface.
There’s approximately 40-45 on the surface and I just joined other people worlds to actually farm them.
It took me two days to max out Cyno(lv90) and there is a bunch in a general area but just a small distance from each other.

I picked up every scarab I could actually find in my world and in my brothers world (he only has the surface unlocked) and I still only got my Cyno up to 70. Pure pain.

Just following the video guides can save so much frustration and time, I always opt to those.
A big problem with them is they don’t put off a light like every other material, you can walk past and not even know it’s there, even Inazuma beetles blink from a mile away making it easy to spot them.
It makes sense that they’re difficult to find because it’s they desert. They blend into the background. I’m sure they mentioned something in the livestream about them being different to materials we’ve had before

Just watching your pain while trying to farm those scarabs makes me mildly happy I lost my 50/50 to Mona (I've wanted Mona for a while now though, so it wasn't a loss either way). But yeah, that quest was annoying af. I still have to get those other three lights on that tablet, but I finished the quest at least...
I did manage to get Cyno and his weapon on my alt account though, that I haven't played on since starting Inazuma xD Just to see if I could get them with the freemogems I got lol. Gonna be a long while before I can build him there...

I just hated the invisible walls but everything else I absolutely adored HAHSHSH I’m having the most fun in the desert and the bugs are adorable hehehe I watch em make their little balls before picking them up. I also did the quest and got attached to the characters and story so much so that I cried. It was fun watching your video and seeing someone else’s reactions hehe stay safe everyone 🧡
I could not agree more. I'm someone that adores Genshin exploration and quests, but these labyrinth puzzles and desert questlines are incredibly frustrating. Plus, even using an interactive map, after around 3 hours I could only find 25 scarabs total, and I can't get any from others because either they also pulled Cyno or they're also too frustrated to unlock the desert.
I've never used the interactive map. I've really never needed too because mindless wandering and finding seems to be my thing and I find everything just fine. I never heard the thing about Scarabs being underground; I found most of the ones I got while I was unlocking the desert map. I've not done anything other than the main story so far and i'm not finished with it yet - I won't be surprised if I'm close to being finished although I don't want to be. I purposely avoid side quests for after i'm done w the main scenario to have something to do later.
Just breathe Moga :) you'll get through it and i'm sure your Cyno will be fabulous once all is said and done.

i rolled for cyno just for the heck of it, but holy fck these scarabs made me want to cry, even worse than onikabuto and onikabuto already made me wanna cry

farming route guides were out early, so i waited until i saw one with a good route for scarabs on the surface and just did that so far, letting me get cyno to 3rd ascension. if i was willing to repeat that in a couple other worlds and get a few less convenient or not on the surface scarabs, i could max him
yeah, your frustration is understandable given you're a solo content creator and have time constraints to work with. i do think it may have been possible to do this in a way that doesn't stress you out so much, but i don't know exactly when this video was recorded so i can't be sure what conditions you were working with
anyway, sending you sympathetic shoulder pats moga. hope the rest of raising him will go better and the frustration wears off. i hope you won't push yourself too hard for the sake of content creation, though i'm not sure how much leeway you have to choose. stay hydrated and all that
To be honest, I absolutely loved the exploration in the desert. The complex puzzles were a lot of fun and it was very satisfying to be rewarded with the opening of a door you saw somewhere else, or access to a temple that you hadn't even thought about after going in some random ditch. To anyone who sees this and needs scarabs, it's MUCH easier to just get all the surface scarabs on the interactive map. There's about 40 scarabs on the surface, so you'll get enough to fully ascend him by joining three people's worlds on top of your own.
EDIT: To be honest, I understand the frustration, (I farmed all 168 of them for a friend) but they're pretty easy to collect without Tighnari. I had more trouble with onikabuto. Takes 15 minutes to get all ~40 of them once you have a route down. I guess it depends on the person but I think people are being dramatic about the difficulty of farming scarabs. I will admit some of them being underground was very annoying though, because it basically eliminates them from any possible farming route unless they're right next to a waypoint.
Moga, what you need to do is be patient & wait for taka gg's guide. At least, in my case it saved my sanity countless times 😂
Problem is he can't wait. He had to make videos in a timely manner. It's how he makes a living.
@@flameshana9 I mean, instead of running around like a headless chicken it's more efficient to follow the guide (which is out before his vid). Better for his sanity & enjoyable for us to watch too. It's not like moga upload daily anyways.
For these scarabs I do recommend pulling up a speed run video at some point and having that as your guide because I tried the interactive map and that shit just didn't work lol. I got most of the scarabs with a video because I knew which ones were above and below ground

The reason the scarabs dont appeare with Tighnari s passive talent they ar living creatures and loads slowly
They're tiny though. And the desert is literally a vast open wasteland. It makes no sense for them to load slowly.
I always let people steal my scarabs when they ask me, My condolences Cyno havers- A Heizou main who struggled so much with onikabuto.

I find out this the hard way... and boy I can feel your frustration, Guess I am not the only one who though those bugs are insanity to farm, specially without the quests done.....
And also I am not the only one who though that a sidequest should't be THIS long too (and too impactuf to boot)!
I really wanna play cyno, i pulled him but finding scarabs is the death of me
He is still unlevelled and idk when he will ever be fully levelled
I tried to farm the scarabs for like an hour in the surface lvl and only ended up with 6 so don’t feel too bad 😅 is a struggle out here xD
You are not alone on this bud, Every single one I talked to hates farming them, more so then Onikabuto which is saying something. It took me hours to farm those just to make 4* him so, I feel your pain

As someone who hates puzzle quests, I fully relate to you on this. I don't even have Cyno, I was just doing random stuff in the desert and somehow bumbled into this questline thinking, "Oh, this'll be a fun little exploration thing, no biggie." 2 hours later, it's STILL not done. Granted, a lot of the visuals are incredible. That walk up to the big mega-pyramid is so friggin' cool.
Honestly I just feel bad for moga and every cyno haver this is just torture🙁
something they need is a new section for mats! like how you can locate enemies in the book!! it would help so much

You really need an outdoor exploration team! Mine is: Mona Yelan Sayu and (any anemo char) use stamina with mona -> get it back with yelan e - > use sayu rolls >back to mona it is perfect for the desert skarabs! =D and it is alot faster!

Or if you have Yelan you can use Yelan, Sayu, diona for speed boost and another anemo character for resonance

Easily the best bit of exploration they've added so far. Hoping they add structures on an even grander scale than the Mausoleum and connecting ruins underground since this was phenomenal. Didn't have this much fun exploring ruins since I played the Uncharted games.
agree! added with the new transpo mechanism they added in sumeru (the yellow floating things that make you go "weee!"), exploring became extra cool and fun
Finally i saw someone with the same opinion as me 😭 I want to level up my Cyno fast too because i have waited so, so long just for him, and now he finally came out (with absolutely badass animation at that), and i finally got the chance to play him, but i just can't play him properly, can't level him up past 60 because of how stupidly hard this scarab is to farm, I feel your pain in so many level 😭
I understand you man... Needed to do the entire Enkanomiya quest to unlock few more specters.... Different kinda pain and it's barely anything compared to the level you're feeling

are you om console? i don't play mobile so lag is normally not a issue

I prefer to play story quest on laptop and it lags not in other areas just some specific areas

if you are on mobile go to setting theres an option to delete the old stuff so lag might decrease (or maybe ur lagging cuz its a new segment)
It might be better to take a breath and start playing the game at the pace that will let you enjoy it instead of stressing over deadlines you set for yourself. Or maybe take a break for a while, you really seem to be burned out on Genshin lately.
I’m done with most of new content in one day, actually enjoyed quests, reminded me about chasm experience. Exploration in desert is actually more enjoyable than in sumeru forests. Can agree with opinions in the beginning of the video🤷🏻♀️
I do agree with Moga. While it's probably worse that he's a content creator, I felt a lot of the same frustrations. Having Tighnari on your party really feels useless when the scarabs FINALLY pop up when ur like 1 ft away. I'm not sure why the radius is terrible but I'm definitely gonna complain about that during the 3.1 survey. I definitely recommend using a RUclips guide for farming scarabs (I did) and those saints should be applauded for their dedication.
I had like 10 cyno havers requesting to join my world and I was like I’m sorry, I haven’t even unlocked the desert, I’m still doing the world quest😅
The quest and puzzles aren't nearly as bad as you make them out to be here, it just because you're trying to rush through everything to find some scarabs that there are more of above ground anyways. If you want to raise him fast just join a few people in coop and you'll be done in 2-3 hrs.
it's actually nice seeing different reactions to this, hopefully hoyoverse will do something about it cause I see so many ppl struggling with them. also I admire Moga even more now that I know he does everything by hisself, and still manages to post way more often than some other streamers
I feel the same way. I haven't been able to play for the past 2 days but day one I went all over the above ground map and only got cyno up to lvl 60 with the amount I found. I think I ran into 4 time the amount of the fruit for Candace than the scarab. I sounded a bit more angry than you. So, mad props on staying composed. 👍
