Mohammed lived more than 600 years after Jesus allegedly lived, he clearly has nothing useful to say on the matter from a historical perspective. One actually has to be a muslim to begin with to start believing that he might have any useful information(And then through revelation). And of course, any beliefs one might have about such a Jesus would then be strictly religious beliefs, not historical beliefs founded on things like a causal understanding of events and evidence.
Gnomefro When examining the evidence presented in the Bible about Jesus, it is clear that he never proclaimed himself to be a God nor that he should be worshiped. However, many denominations of Christianity are based on the belief that Jesus was God and should be worshiped. The Qur'an states that Jesus was not God but a great prophet, and confirms the message of the *orginal* Gospel that contained more information about Jesus' life, message, mission, etc (but ofcourse the orginal Gospel has been reworded/changed/distorted many many times throughout history) . So the Qur'an is more accurate than the mainline Christian 'interpretation' of the Bible about whether or not Jesus was God, eventhough the Bible itself does not state that Jesus was God.
Christians and Jews have to admit there are gaps in their knowledge. Jesus's life from baby to teenager and young adult is hardly known or recorded (& if it is recorded it is not made public) - and what little that is known is ignored. Leave it to God and just be good people.

The Ninety Nine Attributes of Allah In the Holy Qur’an, we read the following verses: Allah: There is no god but He; His are the Greatest Names. (20:8) Say: Call upon Allah or call upon the Beneficent God (al-Rahman); whichever you call upon, He has the Greatest Names." (Qur’an, 17:110) To Allah belong the Greatest Names; therefore, call on Him thereby, and leave alone those who violate the sanctity of His Names..." (Qur’an, 7:180) In order to familiarize ourselves with Allah's Attributes, we have to consult the Holy Qur’an, traditions, or even common-sense. On page 220 of his Book of Unity (of Allah), Shaikh Muhammad ibn `Ali ibn Babawayh al-Qummi al-Saduq quotes Imam Ja`fer al-Sadiq quoting his forefathers quoting the Messenger of Allah saying, "There are ninety-nine Attributes, one hundred minus one, of Allah; whoever counts them will enter Paradise." He is also quoted saying that whoever learns these Attributes by heart and comprehends their meanings (and acts upon it) will enter Paradise. One should be familiar with the meanings and implications of these names, not just with their count. Nobody can sufficiently be acquainted with the Attributes of Allah as He Himself says in 73:20: "He knows that you cannot (sufficiently) count Him (His Attributes)." A tradition says, "Derive your manners from the Attributes of Allah." Allah has willed to show His servant His Attributes which collectively describe Him without His Name being a separate part thereof, even though He is not identical to them in essence. On page 112, Vol. 1, the renown scholar al-Kulaini al-Razi cites Hisham ibn al-Hakam saying that when he once asked Imam Ja`fer al-Sadiq about Allah's Attributes and their derivation, as well as the derivation of the word "Allah," the Imam said to him, "O Hisham! The proper noun `Allah' is derived from `ilah;' the Creator requires the existence of creation [to testify to His being its Creator]. This is a noun, not an adjective. Anyone who worships a name without worshipping what the name stands for is actually committing kufr, apostasy; in reality, he does not worship anything at all. One who worships the name and the meaning is also committing kufr, for he will be worshipping two. Only one who worships the meaning without the name is in line with the concept of Tawhid (Unity of God). Have you understood all of this, O Hisham?" He answered him in the affirmative, requesting him to provide more explanations, whereupon the Imam said, "There are ninety-nine Attributes of Allah. Had each Attribute been the same as it describes, each one of them would have been a god by itself. But `Allah' is the meaning one deducts once he becomes familiar with all these Attributes. They all, O Hisham, in their collective sense, are not the same as He Himself. Bread is something you eat. Water is something you drink. A garment is something you put on. And fire is something that burns. Do you understand all of this, O Hisham, fully enough so that you would promote it and fight the enemies of Allah for its sake?!" Hisham answered him in the affirmative, whereupon the Imam added, "May Allah grant you thereby benefits, and may He keep your feet firm thereupon, O Hisham!"Imam al-Sadiq has said, O son of Adam! If a bird were to eat your heart, it would not have felt satisfied. If the hole of a needle were put before your vision, it would have covered it up. How dare you, using these two, expect to know by them the domain of the heavens and the earth?! Had you been truthful, you would have looked at this sun: it is one object among many of Allah's creations. Had your eyes been able to see all of it, then, and only then, would you have really been truthful. Allah, the Exalted and the Great, says, "And to your Lord is the [end] goal" (Qur’an, 53:42). So, when speech reaches the subject of Allah, it is then that you should hold your tongue... Explanation and derivation of the word "Allah" Views vary in this regard. One says it is derived from one who ilahs (as a verb) another when the latter seeks refuge with him during the time of fear or calamity, and he would grant him refuge and a safe haven; so, the word would become ilah (as a noun) of people, just as one may be their imam when he leads them in congregational prayers or becomes their undisputed leader, or just as a robe becomes a rid' when it is worn, or lihaf when used as a covering. Since it is an adjective for someone who is great, "There is nothing like unto Him" (Qur’an, 42:11), people desired to glorify Him by giving the word the prefix al, thus it became Al-ilah. But they found the hamza in the beginning and also in its midst, where it is quite heavily stressed, heavy on the tongue, so they eliminated it and it became just as it is revealed in the Holy Qur’an, that is, "Allah." This viewpoint is supported by al-Harith ibn Asad al-Muhasibi and a group of scholars, and there are dissenters. Derivation of the Word "Allah" Some say that the word "Allah" is derived from the verb walaha (past tense), yawlahu (present tense), from the root noun walah. The waw was replaced with a hamza, just as the case with wisad and isad, wisha and isha, wikaf and ikaf. Walah is extreme love. Prophet Yahya (John the Baptist) used to be forlorn most of the time whereas Jesus used to be mostly merry and always wearing a smile on his face. They both sought the judgment of the Almighty in their regard, whereupon Allah inspired them, "The nearest of you to Me is the one who thinks best of Me." And surely Allah knows best. The Almighty is Endless regarding His essence, perpetuity, eternity, Attributes, qualities and blessings. His creation, on the other hand, are described as reaching the end of their life terms, being limited in their characteristics, thoughts, and spheres. The one who is incapacitated cannot reach the Endless One. No wonder, then, that the minds are forever overcome by the lights of His Independence, and the reasons are too feeble to realize the brightness of His Greatness. He is as He describes Himself when He says in 6:18 and 6:61, "He is the Supreme above His servants." The Creator is the One Who is adored, and He is worthy of it; hence, He is called ilah. He has made it clear for us that He is the One who bestows His blessings upon those whom He creates in sundry ways. Adoring is the ultimate form of glorifying. Reason testifies that the ultimate end of glorification suits only the One Who is the source of benevolence and bliss. It is to this fact that the Almighty refers when He says, "How do you deny Allah while you were dead and He gave you Life"? (2:28). Nobody knows Allah as He deserves to be known except Allah Himself. In sermon 186 in Nahjul Balagha, Imam `Ali says the following: One who assigns conditions to Him does not believe in His Oneness, nor does one who likens Him to anything grasp the reality about Him. One who illustrates an example for Him does not revere Him. One who points at Him and imagines Him does not know the meaning of His Lordship. Anything known by itself is a created thing, and everything that exists by virtue of other things is the effect thereof. He does things but not with the help of instruments. He assigns measures but not with the faculty of thinking. He is rich but not by acquisition. Time does not keep company with Him, nor does He seek help from any means. His Being precedes time. His Existence precedes non-existence, and His eternity precedes beginning. By creating the senses, it is known that He does not have the same. By comparing antitheses, it is known that He has no antithesis, and by striking similarities between things, it is known that there is nothing similar to Him. He has made light the contrary of darkness, brightness the opposite of dimness, dryness the opposite of moisture, and heat the opposite of coolness. He causes harmony among opposites. He fuses together diverse things; He brings closer what is remote and distances what is joined together. He is not confined to limits, nor computed by figures. Matters are attracted to one another, and parts point out to what is similar to them; the word "since" disproves their eternity, and possibility disproves their perpetuity, while certain means keep them distant from perfection. Through them does the Creator manifest Himself to the intellect, and by them is He veiled from vision. Stillness and motion do not apply to Him; how can anything that He causes to have any effect on Him, and how can anything which He has created revert in its effect unto Him? Or how can anything have an impact upon Him while He Himself brought it to being? Had it not been so, He would have become subject to diversity, His Being would have become divisible (into parts), and His reality would have been prevented from being Eternal.
The Quran describes Allah as the best deceiver there is, a liar who is not above using the same evil and wicked schemes of his opponents. For example, the Quran calls Allah a makr, in fact the best makr there is: But they (the Jews) were deceptive, and Allah was deceptive, for Allah is the best of deceivers (Wamakaroo wamakara Allahu waAllahu khayru al-makireena)! Jesus is my Savior. He has taught me and helped me with His Holy Spirit to live His Commandments. To bring me peace in a confusing world and live a responsible good life. With the promise that I may continue this life in spirit after my body wears out. I live the Ten Commandments and Jesus commandments in The Sermon on the Mount. All else seems irrelevant to me. Though the encouraging, loving verses about God in the Psalms in the Bible have got me through some rough patches. He has been very good to me.

I would suggest the following test. *The ‘embryology’ verses in the Quran will have to be:* 1) Scientifically accurate 2) Unique 3) Information that Muhammad could get from no other source than Allah. Let us now examine these three areas. Firstly the question of whether the Qur’anic account is accurate. 1) Is the Qur’anic description of human embryonic development scientifically accurate? When we examine these verses 23.12 - 23 14 we see that, according to Muhammad, humans develop through the following stages in the womb: 1) Sperm 2) Clot of blood 3) Embryonic lump 4) Grows bones 5) Covered with flesh 6) Fully formed There are problems with this explanation that immediately become apparent: No mention at all is made of the female contribution (the ‘egg’ or ovum). It simply describes the sperm ‘mutating’ into a clot of blood. *There is NO stage of development during which the embryo resembles a ‘clot of blood’*. The only time when an embryo will resemble a ‘clot of blood’ is when a *miscarriage* occurs. There is *NO* stage of embryonic development during which the embryo turns into bones or a skeleton around which flesh is subsequently grown. The bones of an embryo develop long after it is encased in flesh. The Qur’an therefore has it exactly the wrong way around. So the ’embryology’ found in the Qur’an too vague to be of any use and is totally *UNscientific*. It therefore does *not* pass the test for accuracy. *2. Is the description of embryonic development that we find in the Qur’an unique?* The next question we have to ask is if this description of embryonic development is unique to the Qur’an or if someone else before Muhammad articulated the same thoughts? To put it in another way: Could Muhammad have copied someone else? The answer: *YES*. Let us now turn to Qur’an 22:5, another verse that deals with human development. Here Muhammad describes the process in the following way: *O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a (1) sperm-drop, then from a (2) clinging clot (2), and then from a lump of flesh, (3) formed and (4) unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child’* Here are the stages of embryonic development according to his text: 1. Seminal Fluid (nut’fa) 2. Clot of Blood (‘alaqat) 3. Unformed Embryo (unformed mud’gha) 4. Formed Embryo (formed mud’gha) It turns out that Muhammad’s version of embryonic development is an almost exact copy of the ideas of Galen (130-200 AD) the ‘Father of Greek Medicine’. Here is what Galen wrote about embryonic development. Note the startling similarities with Qur’an 22:5: But let us take the account back again to the first conformation of the animal, and in order to make our account orderly and clear, let us divide the creation of the foetus overall into four periods of time. The first is that in which. as is seen both in abortions and in dissection, the form of the *semen* prevails. At this time, Hippocrates too, the all-marvelous, does not yet call the conformation of the animal a foetus; as we heard just now in the case of semen voided in the sixth day, he still calls it semen. But when it has been *filled with blood* and heart, brain and liver are still unarticulated and unshaped yet have by now a certain solidarity and considerable size, this is the second period; the substance of the *foetus* *has the form of flesh* and no longer the form of semen. Accordingly you would find that Hippocrates too no longer calls such a form semen but, as was said, foetus. The third period follows on this, when, as was said, it is possible to see the three ruling parts clearly and a *kind of outline, a silhouette*, as it were, of all the other parts. You will see the conformation of the three ruling parts more clearly, that of the parts of the stomach more dimly, and much more still, that of the limbs. Later on they form “twigs”, as Hippocrates expressed it, indicating by the term their similarity to branches. The fourth and final period is at the stage when all the parts in the limbs have been differentiated; and at this part Hippocrates the marvelous no longer calls the foetus an embryo only, but already a child, too when he says that it jerks and moves as an animal now *fully formed* So you can see that far from being unique the Qur’an 22:5 presents us with an almost exact copy of Galen! 1. Semen 2. Blood 3. Form of flesh - Unformed (Outline, silhouette) 4. Form of flesh - Formed (Have been differentiated) There you are, proven beyond doubt that Muhammad was simply repeating things that was regarded as ‘common knowledge’ by anyone who studied medicine in the ancient world. Remember Galen was the standard textbook for Greek inspired medical learning. This would have included medical schools in the Persian Empire *3. Did Muhammad have access to Greek Medical Thought?* Muslim apologists may respond to the above by claiming that Muhammad would have had no way to gain access to this information as he lived in the middle of a desert. This objection is quite easy to deal with. Islamic tradition is clear on the fact that Muhammad was *a merchant who travelled all over the ancient world*. So even if he could not access this information in Arabia he would have been in plenty places where Galen’s theories would have been common knowledge. He would have constantly interacted with people from the Byzantine (Roman) and Sassanian (Persian) empires. Galen was taught in the medical schools of both these empires. There is, furthermore, also solid evidence that a medically trained person was present in Arabia at the time of Muhammad who could have transmitted Galen’s ideas to him. He was a doctor who trained at a famous Persian medical school (at Gundishapur or ‘Jundi Shapur’) where Galen was a key part of the curriculum: Such medical knowledge as Muhammad possessed he may well have acquired from Harith bin Kalada, an Arab, who is said to have left the desert for a while and gone to Jundi Shapur to study medicine…On his return Haris settled in Mecca and became the foremost physician of the Arabs of the desert. Whether he ever embraced Islam is uncertain; but this did not prevent the Prophet from sending his sick friends to consult him. Cyril Elgood, A Medical History of Persia and the Eastern Caliphate: From the Earliest Times Until the Year AD 1932 (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2010), p. 66 According to the Sira this doctor treated at least two of Muhammad’s companions Sa’d ibn Abi Waggas and Abu Bakr. Here we have confirmed contact between Muhammad and someone who would have known Galen by heart. 4. Conclusion Let us revisit the questions that I spelled out at the beginning: Is the Qur’anic description of human embryonic development scientifically accurate? No it is not. It diverges significantly from how modern science describes the process of human development. Is the description of embryonic development that we find in the Qur’an unique? No it is not. Qur’an 22:5 is a direct repetition of how Galen, the ‘Father of Greek Medicine’, described human development in the womb. Would Muhammad have had access to Greek medical ideas? Certainly, he travelled all over the Middle East as a trader and would have been in touch with Romans and Persians who knew these ideas well. He also had contact with a physician (Harith bin Kalada) who trained at the famous Persian medical school at Gundishapur where Galen was a key part of the curriculum. Do we have a bona fide ‘miracle’ here? On the basis of the evidence absolutely not!

Around 58:10 mentions the woman with the issue of blood who touched the hem of Isa's (Jesus') garment & was healed. He says that the woman called Isa "good master, good master", & that Isa rebuked her for it, saying that only Allah is good. That is not what the New Testament says. Actually, the speaker has accidentally mixed together two different New Testament accounts. The one whom Isa (Jesus) had rebuked in New Testament for calling him "good master" was a man. And the one who was healed by touching the hem of his garment was a woman. . . It is just a simple, tiny mistake. It does not change the point of this lecture; nor does it take away from its message. . . Still a wonderful lecture. May Allah's Favor & Blessing be upon each & every person here. Amin.

Mohammed lived more than 600 years after Jesus allegedly lived, he clearly has nothing useful to say on the matter from a historical perspective. One actually has to be a muslim to begin with to start believing that he might have any useful information(And then through revelation). And of course, any beliefs one might have about such a Jesus would then be strictly religious beliefs, not historical beliefs founded on things like a causal understanding of events and evidence.

However, many denominations of Christianity are based on the belief that Jesus was God and should be worshiped. The Qur'an states that Jesus was not God but a great prophet, and confirms the message of the *orginal* Gospel that contained more information about Jesus' life, message, mission, etc (but ofcourse the orginal Gospel has been reworded/changed/distorted many many times throughout history) . So the Qur'an is more accurate than the mainline Christian 'interpretation' of the Bible about whether or not Jesus was God, eventhough the Bible itself does not state that Jesus was God.

The Ninety Nine Attributes of Allah
In the Holy Qur’an, we read the following verses:
Allah: There is no god but He; His are the Greatest Names. (20:8)
Say: Call upon Allah or call upon the Beneficent God (al-Rahman); whichever you call upon, He has the Greatest Names." (Qur’an, 17:110)
To Allah belong the Greatest Names; therefore, call on Him thereby, and leave alone those who violate the sanctity of His Names..." (Qur’an, 7:180)
In order to familiarize ourselves with Allah's Attributes, we have to consult the Holy Qur’an, traditions, or even common-sense. On page 220 of his Book of Unity (of Allah), Shaikh Muhammad ibn `Ali ibn Babawayh al-Qummi al-Saduq quotes Imam Ja`fer al-Sadiq quoting his forefathers quoting the Messenger of Allah saying,
"There are ninety-nine Attributes, one hundred minus one, of Allah; whoever counts them will enter Paradise." He is also quoted saying that whoever learns these Attributes by heart and comprehends their meanings (and acts upon it) will enter Paradise. One should be familiar with the meanings and implications of these names, not just with their count. Nobody can sufficiently be acquainted with the Attributes of Allah as He Himself says in 73:20: "He knows that you cannot (sufficiently) count Him (His Attributes)."
A tradition says, "Derive your manners from the Attributes of Allah." Allah has willed to show His servant His Attributes which collectively describe Him without His Name being a separate part thereof, even though He is not identical to them in essence.
On page 112, Vol. 1, the renown scholar al-Kulaini al-Razi cites Hisham ibn al-Hakam saying that when he once asked Imam Ja`fer al-Sadiq about Allah's Attributes and their derivation, as well as the derivation of the word "Allah," the Imam said to him, "O Hisham! The proper noun `Allah' is derived from `ilah;' the Creator requires the existence of creation [to testify to His being its Creator]. This is a noun, not an adjective.
Anyone who worships a name without worshipping what the name stands for is actually committing kufr, apostasy; in reality, he does not worship anything at all. One who worships the name and the meaning is also committing kufr, for he will be worshipping two. Only one who worships the meaning without the name is in line with the concept of Tawhid (Unity of God). Have you understood all of this, O Hisham?"
He answered him in the affirmative, requesting him to provide more explanations, whereupon the Imam said, "There are ninety-nine Attributes of Allah. Had each Attribute been the same as it describes, each one of them would have been a god by itself. But `Allah' is the meaning one deducts once he becomes familiar with all these Attributes. They all, O Hisham, in their collective sense, are not the same as He Himself. Bread is something you eat. Water is something you drink. A garment is something you put on. And fire is something that burns. Do you understand all of this, O Hisham, fully enough so that you would promote it and fight the enemies of Allah for its sake?!"
Hisham answered him in the affirmative, whereupon the Imam added, "May Allah grant you thereby benefits, and may He keep your feet firm thereupon, O Hisham!"Imam al-Sadiq has said,
O son of Adam! If a bird were to eat your heart, it would not have felt satisfied. If the hole of a needle were put before your vision, it would have covered it up. How dare you, using these two, expect to know by them the domain of the heavens and the earth?! Had you been truthful, you would have looked at this sun: it is one object among many of Allah's creations. Had your eyes been able to see all of it, then, and only then, would you have really been truthful. Allah, the Exalted and the Great, says,
"And to your Lord is the [end] goal" (Qur’an, 53:42).
So, when speech reaches the subject of Allah, it is then that you should hold your tongue...
Explanation and derivation of the word "Allah"
Views vary in this regard. One says it is derived from one who ilahs (as a verb) another when the latter seeks refuge with him during the time of fear or calamity, and he would grant him refuge and a safe haven; so, the word would become ilah (as a noun) of people, just as one may be their imam when he leads them in congregational prayers or becomes their undisputed leader, or just as a robe becomes a rid' when it is worn, or lihaf when used as a covering. Since it is an adjective for someone who is great, "There is nothing like unto Him" (Qur’an, 42:11), people desired to glorify Him by giving the word the prefix al, thus it became Al-ilah.
But they found the hamza in the beginning and also in its midst, where it is quite heavily stressed, heavy on the tongue, so they eliminated it and it became just as it is revealed in the Holy Qur’an, that is, "Allah." This viewpoint is supported by al-Harith ibn Asad al-Muhasibi and a group of scholars, and there are dissenters.
Derivation of the Word "Allah"
Some say that the word "Allah" is derived from the verb walaha (past tense), yawlahu (present tense), from the root noun walah. The waw was replaced with a hamza, just as the case with wisad and isad, wisha and isha, wikaf and ikaf. Walah is extreme love. Prophet Yahya (John the Baptist) used to be forlorn most of the time whereas Jesus used to be mostly merry and always wearing a smile on his face. They both sought the judgment of the Almighty in their regard, whereupon Allah inspired them, "The nearest of you to Me is the one who thinks best of Me." And surely Allah knows best.
The Almighty is Endless regarding His essence, perpetuity, eternity, Attributes, qualities and blessings. His creation, on the other hand, are described as reaching the end of their life terms, being limited in their characteristics, thoughts, and spheres. The one who is incapacitated cannot reach the Endless One. No wonder, then, that the minds are forever overcome by the lights of His Independence, and the reasons are too feeble to realize the brightness of His Greatness. He is as He describes Himself when He says in 6:18 and 6:61, "He is the Supreme above His servants."
The Creator is the One Who is adored, and He is worthy of it; hence, He is called ilah. He has made it clear for us that He is the One who bestows His blessings upon those whom He creates in sundry ways. Adoring is the ultimate form of glorifying. Reason testifies that the ultimate end of glorification suits only the One Who is the source of benevolence and bliss. It is to this fact that the Almighty refers when He says,
"How do you deny Allah while you were dead and He gave you Life"? (2:28).
Nobody knows Allah as He deserves to be known except Allah Himself. In sermon 186 in Nahjul Balagha, Imam `Ali says the following:
One who assigns conditions to Him does not believe in His Oneness, nor does one who likens Him to anything grasp the reality about Him. One who illustrates an example for Him does not revere Him. One who points at Him and imagines Him does not know the meaning of His Lordship. Anything known by itself is a created thing, and everything that exists by virtue of other things is the effect thereof. He does things but not with the help of instruments. He assigns measures but not with the faculty of thinking. He is rich but not by acquisition. Time does not keep company with Him, nor does He seek help from any means.
His Being precedes time. His Existence precedes non-existence, and His eternity precedes beginning. By creating the senses, it is known that He does not have the same. By comparing antitheses, it is known that He has no antithesis, and by striking similarities between things, it is known that there is nothing similar to Him. He has made light the contrary of darkness, brightness the opposite of dimness, dryness the opposite of moisture, and heat the opposite of coolness.
He causes harmony among opposites. He fuses together diverse things; He brings closer what is remote and distances what is joined together. He is not confined to limits, nor computed by figures. Matters are attracted to one another, and parts point out to what is similar to them; the word "since" disproves their eternity, and possibility disproves their perpetuity, while certain means keep them distant from perfection.
Through them does the Creator manifest Himself to the intellect, and by them is He veiled from vision. Stillness and motion do not apply to Him; how can anything that He causes to have any effect on Him, and how can anything which He has created revert in its effect unto Him? Or how can anything have an impact upon Him while He Himself brought it to being? Had it not been so, He would have become subject to diversity, His Being would have become divisible (into parts), and His reality would have been prevented from being Eternal.

So how will we know if this description is indeed miraculous? I would suggest the following test.
*The ‘embryology’ verses in the Quran will have to be:*
1) Scientifically accurate
2) Unique
3) Information that Muhammad could get from no other source than Allah.
Let us now examine these three areas. Firstly the question of whether the Qur’anic account is accurate.
1) Is the Qur’anic description of human embryonic development scientifically accurate?
When we examine these verses 23.12 - 23 14 we see that, according to Muhammad, humans develop through the following stages in the womb:
1) Sperm
2) Clot of blood
3) Embryonic lump
4) Grows bones
5) Covered with flesh
6) Fully formed
There are problems with this explanation that immediately become apparent:
No mention at all is made of the female contribution (the ‘egg’ or ovum). It simply describes the sperm ‘mutating’ into a clot of blood.
*There is NO stage of development during which the embryo resembles a ‘clot of blood’*. The only time when an embryo will resemble a ‘clot of blood’ is when a *miscarriage* occurs.
There is *NO* stage of embryonic development during which the embryo turns into bones or a skeleton around which flesh is subsequently grown. The bones of an embryo develop long after it is encased in flesh. The Qur’an therefore has it exactly the wrong way around.
So the ’embryology’ found in the Qur’an too vague to be of any use and is totally *UNscientific*. It therefore does *not* pass the test for accuracy.
*2. Is the description of embryonic development that we find in the Qur’an unique?*
The next question we have to ask is if this description of embryonic development is unique to the Qur’an or if someone else before Muhammad articulated the same thoughts? To put it in another way: Could Muhammad have copied someone else? The answer: *YES*.
Let us now turn to Qur’an 22:5, another verse that deals with human development. Here Muhammad describes the process in the following way:
*O People, if you should be in doubt about the Resurrection, then [consider that] indeed, We created you from dust, then from a (1) sperm-drop, then from a (2) clinging clot (2), and then from a lump of flesh, (3) formed and (4) unformed - that We may show you. And We settle in the wombs whom We will for a specified term, then We bring you out as a child’*
Here are the stages of embryonic development according to his text:
1. Seminal Fluid (nut’fa)
2. Clot of Blood (‘alaqat)
3. Unformed Embryo (unformed mud’gha)
4. Formed Embryo (formed mud’gha)
It turns out that Muhammad’s version of embryonic development is an almost exact copy of the ideas of Galen (130-200 AD) the ‘Father of Greek Medicine’. Here is what Galen wrote about embryonic development. Note the startling similarities with Qur’an 22:5:
But let us take the account back again to the first conformation of the animal, and in order to make our account orderly and clear, let us divide the creation of the foetus overall into four periods of time. The first is that in which. as is seen both in abortions and in dissection, the form of the *semen* prevails. At this time, Hippocrates too, the all-marvelous, does not yet call the conformation of the animal a foetus; as we heard just now in the case of semen voided in the sixth day, he still calls it semen. But when it has been *filled with blood* and heart, brain and liver are still unarticulated and unshaped yet have by now a certain solidarity and considerable size, this is the second period; the substance of the *foetus* *has the form of flesh* and no longer the form of semen. Accordingly you would find that Hippocrates too no longer calls such a form semen but, as was said, foetus. The third period follows on this, when, as was said, it is possible to see the three ruling parts clearly and a *kind of outline, a silhouette*, as it were, of all the other parts. You will see the conformation of the three ruling parts more clearly, that of the parts of the stomach more dimly, and much more still, that of the limbs. Later on they form “twigs”, as Hippocrates expressed it, indicating by the term their similarity to branches. The fourth and final period is at the stage when all the parts in the limbs have been differentiated; and at this part Hippocrates the marvelous no longer calls the foetus an embryo only, but already a child, too when he says that it jerks and moves as an animal now *fully formed*
So you can see that far from being unique the Qur’an 22:5 presents us with an almost exact copy of Galen!

3. Form of flesh - Unformed (Outline, silhouette)
4. Form of flesh - Formed (Have been differentiated)
There you are, proven beyond doubt that Muhammad was simply repeating things that was regarded as ‘common knowledge’ by anyone who studied medicine in the ancient world. Remember Galen was the standard textbook for Greek inspired medical learning. This would have included medical schools in the Persian Empire
*3. Did Muhammad have access to Greek Medical Thought?*
Muslim apologists may respond to the above by claiming that Muhammad would have had no way to gain access to this information as he lived in the middle of a desert. This objection is quite easy to deal with.
Islamic tradition is clear on the fact that Muhammad was *a merchant who travelled all over the ancient world*. So even if he could not access this information in Arabia he would have been in plenty places where Galen’s theories would have been common knowledge. He would have constantly interacted with people from the Byzantine (Roman) and Sassanian (Persian) empires. Galen was taught in the medical schools of both these empires.
There is, furthermore, also solid evidence that a medically trained person was present in Arabia at the time of Muhammad who could have transmitted Galen’s ideas to him. He was a doctor who trained at a famous Persian medical school (at Gundishapur or ‘Jundi Shapur’) where Galen was a key part of the curriculum:
Such medical knowledge as Muhammad possessed he may well have acquired from Harith bin Kalada, an Arab, who is said to have left the desert for a while and gone to Jundi Shapur to study medicine…On his return Haris settled in Mecca and became the foremost physician of the Arabs of the desert. Whether he ever embraced Islam is uncertain; but this did not prevent the Prophet from sending his sick friends to consult him.
Cyril Elgood, A Medical History of Persia and the Eastern Caliphate: From the Earliest Times Until the Year AD 1932 (Cambridge: Cambridge University Press, 2010), p. 66
According to the Sira this doctor treated at least two of Muhammad’s companions Sa’d ibn Abi Waggas and Abu Bakr. Here we have confirmed contact between Muhammad and someone who would have known Galen by heart.
4. Conclusion
Let us revisit the questions that I spelled out at the beginning:
Is the Qur’anic description of human embryonic development scientifically accurate?
No it is not. It diverges significantly from how modern science describes the process of human development.
Is the description of embryonic development that we find in the Qur’an unique?
No it is not. Qur’an 22:5 is a direct repetition of how Galen, the ‘Father of Greek Medicine’, described human development in the womb.
Would Muhammad have had access to Greek medical ideas?
Certainly, he travelled all over the Middle East as a trader and would have been in touch with Romans and Persians who knew these ideas well. He also had contact with a physician (Harith bin Kalada) who trained at the famous Persian medical school at Gundishapur where Galen was a key part of the curriculum.
Do we have a bona fide ‘miracle’ here?
On the basis of the evidence absolutely not!

If you hear how the Christians make Jesus (Issa) like a god or son of god. All you have to do is read the stories of Greek Mythology. It is the same concept like Zeus impregnating human women and having sons of god i.e. Hercules. All the time Christians do not recognize this. I absolutely love his lectures. Truly wonderful & thought-provoking. . . Although I did catch a little mistake in this video. Around 58:10 mentions the woman with the issue of blood who touched the hem of Isa's (Jesus') garment & was healed. He says that the woman called Isa "good master, good master", & that Isa rebuked her for it, saying that only Allah is good. That is not what the New Testament says. Actually, the speaker has accidentally mixed together two different New Testament accounts. The one whom Isa (Jesus) had rebuked in New Testament for calling him "good master" was a man. And the one who was healed by touching the hem of his garment was a woman. . . It is just a simple, tiny mistake. It does not change the point of this lecture; nor does it take away from its message. . . Still a wonderful lecture.

Which sumply means that there is absolutely
No one worthy of worship
No ine worthy of our obedience
Exept the almighty, the one, the absolute
And who has no partners.

There is Only one God and One Qur'an, probably you have Mistaken with chapters. There are 114 chapters in The Qur'an.
