The gear at this moment where the timing chain is hanging would not move the exhaust camshaft in this state. All of these nuts and bolts should only be hand tightened and then torqued. if you use a ratchet you can inadvertently exceed the torque spec and the torque wrench will only tell you you have reached the torque, not that you have exceeded the torque spec. This is particularly important at lower torque settings.

The "E" stands for "Einlass" ("inlet" in English) and the "A" is for "Auspuff" ("exhaust" in English). Btw, all nouns in German (afterall, BMW is a German car) are capitalized.
hey brother if i want to swap just the upper timing tensioner do i need still need to follow this procedure ??
Crank won’t turn more than 30 degrees after pulling the crank pin out… any ideas??
