Got myself the GN Aion in the 909 grade, what a bat, it's shape is really perfect, pick-up is light with a really good full profile where you hit the ball. GM made a few good 555 lengths in the past years, but each shape had maybe 1 downfall, Noir was good, but not allot of power, I had 2 and that was my main issue with them. Brava was better but the weight was far too heavy on the bottom end, you had to get a pick-up index 1 to have it balanced. Chroma and Hypa had great pick-up but no power down low, because the wood was all in the middle, I do understand that it's how you choose the ideal bat for yourself, however being tall I could only go for the 555 options. I think GM should have more 555 options and less 540 options, I would even go so far to say make the Diamond in a 555 option and see them fly off the shelves, and please make your handles medium thickness, allot of short people have small hands and they complain the GM handles are too thick. Anyways, GM you made really a good bat with the Aion, Im ordering another one soon
thanks for your very insightful comment, I am trying to decide on a GM bat. I am based in Poland, so I dont have the option to go to a shop, so need to rely on these videos and comments. I am only considering the 555 size, although I am average height, I have never used the shorter blade, so worried it might not work for me. Based on your comment, I think I would rule out the Brava, but can't decide between Hypa and Aion. I do like a light pickup, but tend to predominantly play straighter shots
Really helpful review. Now that physical cricket stores are few and far between (certainly here in West Wales), I rely on sensible, informed reviews to help me judge which bat is likely to work for me. Out of interest, why did GM drop the ICON (which was my previous bat)?
Will there any performance or durability difference between 2024 vs 2023 or 2022 bats? I mean if I buy old bat will that be good enough compared to new one?
Thanks for the question. Yes, there should be no issues - as long as stock is looked after correctly then no expected issues so you would be fine buying an older one
I am 24 years old and I will be starting my club cricket journey in 2024. I don’t have enough experience so I am not sure whether to choose a front foot-preferred or back foot-preferred bat so I would be choosing that can do both. As you said, you might need to compromise with Mana if you hit off-centre. So which one of the bats can still give me good value in such scenarios? Hypa, Kryos, Diamond or Mana?
If you don’t have much experience , weight would be your most important decision. Go with something with a mid sweet spot, get some coaching, and see what shots you’re naturally playing more before getting your next bat
Thank you for your question, we would always recommend getting into a shop to pick up and feel the differences available if at all possible because preference with a bat is so important. However, within the GM range, the Kryos sits in the middle of their profile range with the sweet spot in the middle of the blade, so it is the most balanced in that perspective with a good amount of forgiveness.
aion vs ghost? i am coming from an ss ton that is literally breaking in to a million pieces. i love my drives and pulls, drives a bit more important. any recommendations? (doesnt just have to be kookaburra or gm, but i would prefer a well-known brand.

Just got my son a mana for his first bat, thankyou lads for the thorough review and test.

Insightful and fun.
Great review! Thanks guys for taking the time🙌
Among the 540mm blades, which one is the most forgiving on the edges and the toes?
Junior cricket bat guide V2 ? 🏏🏏🏏🤞🤞🤞
Love the video guys!! 😄😄
hi, will there be performance difference btwn diamond signature and diamond 808 ?
Depends on the wood of the bat, bc grade doesnt matter in performance
Can you please do a video on cleaning gear, getting smells out mainly but also the dirt
Are these bats knocked first by yourselves, or straight into the nets from the factory?
Can you please give an explanation for round and oval shape bat handles and its benefits for type of play
Yea and also short n long handles
Just got the Diamond today!!!

You could also buy from other brands, not necessarily GM

2023 range are all full profile bats so you can choose whichever you like
Kryos is on the lighter end compared to hypa and brava
I prefer the Diamond. Still light enough, good balance, but more forgiving in that the spine runs all the way to the toe.
Thanku sir
Australia players, South Africa players used GM bat he is telling
