My goodness, this is JUST what I needed to hear today! I don’t know WHY I started fussing myself for being “so slow” when my teacher praises the precision with which I do my work. YES!! It takes TIME!! So thank you for this much needed reminder.
😂 love your sense of humor!! I can never wait quietly for your next videos. Thank you so much for this one especially because I’m starting to teach a basic silversmithing class 1/29. I’m going to use this on the students, they will love it as much as I did! 😂 keep up the amazing art!
Oh my gosh, it all makes sense, and now that you put it out there in words!!!! Because I have been beating myself up all year long. And I even made a New Year’s resolution that I’m not gonna do anything wrong. I’m gonna stay on a project I’m gonna get this done. And then I just went into my shop for my little studio in my home and I have about 20 projects that are not completed now not customers orders., They get completed, but due to my rheumatoid arthritis they know that it takes me a while to complete something custom-made. But jewelry that I need to be putting out on my website is still unfinished. Anyway so, I’m not gonna be myself up anymore. Happy New Year’s. Hugs 🤗, Michelle 🎊 🎉2024
@@JewelryArtsI promise to be easier on myself… I do this a lot with you and another lady is that teaches Silversmith. I come back and I re-listen to your videos often. I don’t work with gold very much and hired to design unique for a client of mine. I won’t go into it on RUclips but I would like to send you a private message on IG. I’ll be picking up the gold next Monday and once I find out more about it then I’m gonna send you a message. Need your advice. Anyway, super super big hugs. 🤗, Michelle
I didn’t know what to make of the title of this, but thank you for the hilarious and oh-so-true video. You are a remarkable teacher and I look forward to learning from you in 2024!
I just made a fine silver two way double loop-in loop chain 34" long 22 ga 5/16" dia. chain for my sweetheart for Christmas. First time doing it and learning to fuse at the same time. I drew more than half the wire too. It came out beautiful and was recieved like I hoped it would be. That was a real deadline but it would have been more fun if I started working on it sooner but it feels like a great accomplishment.
You are hysterical! I can so relate to this and when I don't do it everything flows so much better. Great way and great thing to hear January 2. Thank you.
Just to say Happy Metalsmithing 2024 to you Jeanette....this isn't quite what you described but I wanted to get back into my studio just recently to do some urgent stuff, however I sliced the tips of 2 fingers using a vicious mandolin for coleslaw, which I don't particularly like...but you know..New Year's eve party and all that...have a good year ..looking forward to see more of your fab videos cheers
Ugh, I usually only burn myself making popcorn, not making jewelry so I feel your pain! Let yourself heal up and you will be back to it in no time. Happy New Year!
Awesome! I do that all the time, always trying something new, not repetitive enough for sure. My time frame always off for completion!!! Only been smithing for 2 years but I've slowly made some pretty cool stuff, happy new year to ya'all!
Lol I do this all the tim some days i cast an item 3 times, so I give up. The next day it goes perfect. So jyst another shattered of things going wrong 😂
Jeanette!!! You are the BEST of the BEST… of the BEST!!!! Thank you so much for showing me the pathway to yet another seriously shi*trier new year… maybe THIS year I’ll be able to MASTER this technique I’ve been studying for decades, in every aspect of my life!! Hopefully will be able to study at Jewelry Arts Inc. sometime in 2024💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕💕🙀

I'm so glad you come on and tell the truth that this is miserable and we're morons for doing it.
