- Inspired by Mila Kunis, Australian Model Lucy Cameron came in earlier in the week for the Ultimate Brunette treatment by Colourist Michelle Ciaccia (@canberrahaircolourist) In this Video Adam demonstrates an uncomplicated Long editorial style haircut.
Lucy has a natural 5 with existing lightening through the ends which were levels 8 to 10. We decided a root stretch to give a more richer luxurious tone.
Colour formula 1 for roots
Matrix color sync 2/3 5n +1/3 6br + bond ultim8 #1+10vol
Colour formula 2 for ends
Matrix colour sync 1/3 6br + 1/3 clear + 1/3 7mm + bond ultim8 #1 + 10vol

Apply formula 1 in a traditional cob web section starting at the back. When applying be sure to feather the colour towards the mid lengths to avoid a solid line. Once finished the root application apply formula 2 to mid lengths and ends. To achieve a seamless blend of the 2 colours make sure where the 2 colours meet you melt them together.
Process for 20 mins.
Rinse really well at basin, towel dry and apply bond #2 for 10mins. Rinse and shampoo using colourlast shampoo and conditioner. Don’t forget to follow me on my other social platforms:

Hi, I know your videos are for professionals but I just gave myself a haircut (from below my butt to waist-length) using this technique--well part of it. I was a bit more reckless with the texturizing. I watched a few of your videos until I felt confident enough to try and, while no one with eyes would say I did a GOOD job, it doesn't look nearly as bad as it surely would have had I not tried to follow your technique. I just cut my hair myself and it's not even close but it saves me a nightmare cut.
I do this too now! I've had too many bad layered hair cuts, still growing out my last one.
Could you please consider using a light colored cape when you are cutting dark hair. This would make it so much easier to see the beautiful details of your styling.

This is literally the hair style I have been trying to achieve for the last year with different hairstylists. Still not there yet... but hopefully someone will be able to achieve it eventually, it's not *that* difficult :P

Lucy's hair looked rather thin at the beginning, and then it looked so thick after Adam cut it.
That happened when he "over-directed" a swath before cutting it. Might also be called undercutting.

I put wen in my hair color. It is awesome. I use Aussie 3 minute conditioner once a week and use it as a leave in conditioner every time I wash my hair. My hair actually is very strong, cause I bleach my hair every 2 to 3. Months.

From extraordinary to ordinary.
it is a angled line at 0 degrees from the head shape at the top section of the head
that's why the top of the frame is very defined , only when cutting at 0 you can create line like that.
and the sides are elevated at 90 degrees and over directed to the front
which results in a more diffused look at the bottom of the frame line.
I would love to see you do colour! I've always been curious about weaving at an angle with foils that Michelle was doing in one of your older videos, would love more info on that

Adam, I really appreciate what you said about trying to innovate with long hair. I have fairly fine, naturally curly hair (type 3A according to google) and deal with the same problem... no matter what I ask, I always end up with the same layered cut. Great work as always but when are you going to cut different textures of hair? These techniques certainly wouldn’t work with my hair. Mix it up a bit.
