Lohai said "politics is short-term religion and religion is long-term politics"; Gandhiji thought that Politics cannot be devoid of religion; why? Politics cannot be separated from Ethics/morality. Religion is greatest source and basis of Ethics/morality; hence religion makes politics for ethical, moral, just. Secularism is not being a-religious or non-religious, it is tolerance and accommodation of all religion in social arrangements/politics- of course one view as by Mr Madan
