Another important tip to follow is to switch on hazard indicators while the vehicle is at stop / parked on the side of road, mainly at two lane highways to let other motorists know the vehicle is stationery and not moving.

I liked the idea to use hazard lights closer to the barriers. Also can I add to use 5 seconds rule when using indicator. Indicate for 5 seconds at least before changing lanes and turning. Thank you.

Thank you Asir Brother. Recently I encountered a scenario where there was a good possibility of a road rage but it got avoided because of your words. A two wheeler came in the wrong direction and blocked my way and started staring as if I am blocking his way. When the argument was about to begin, just remembered your advice about road rage and I avoided eye contact to let that moment and person pass on. Road rage avoided and energy saved. Thank you.

@@motowagon Excellent video brother. Have been watching most of your videos, love the professionalism and quality of content. I have one small issue with your video however, hope you take it constructively. In this video you have highlighted a lot of issues to promote road safety, which is great! But at the same time, you are constantly taking your eyes off the road (for fractions of a second) to look at the camera near the passenger seat. Even though I'm sure you're an expert driver, in this age of social media where a lot of people vlog in cars, it's not a good example. I understand that you do it to make the video look better and to make it interactive, but even without looking at the left side camera, your content is brilliant. Thank you!

@@Aravinths3 over speed is not recommended... It's not a safety one. If someone drives uncontrolled speed like 180 kmph then no one could able to save him if he met with an accident. So these things, not recommended by any automobile brands who produced good built quality cars... Even Tesla.
Driving 80 to 100, is safe speed for Indian roads. And there's a big chance of saving life if met with an accident with good built quality cars.
If driving same speed with low built quality cars, there's a big chance of fatal injury or death..
That's what I'm trying to say about built quality of cars. I've seen several car accidents with proof for this.

Thanks for this topic... i was driving my new car yesterday at around 100km speed in the highway.. suddenly 2 ppl started crossing and stopped exactly in front of my lane out of fear.. they could have crossed the road as there was no vehicle in the next lane. But dont know y they stopped.. i had to brake and bring the car to complete halt. I am not a expert in driving car.. but somehow i managed the situation without any accident. I have a very good highway drive experience with highspeed bikes.. probably that helped me.. for sometime i ll not drive above 80.. this incident has changed my mind. Wat a narrow escape..

If we or driver gets tired itvis always better and recommended to take some rest in Petrol Bunks as it's very safe instead of taking rest in the corner of the road as still someone from behind will hit us and leads to accident.

Safe driving is very important. I like emphasise on 2 to 3 points….
You can talk about three lanes even more / their speed limit / risk factors…. High speed lane is always risky and high chances of distraction is possible…. Most people are traveling with der bicycles/bikes are a travelling between the median.
I use to travel to chennai- Mumbai via Bangalore. All roads okay but whenever I want to take a break, I use to stop my vehicle near to Toll plaza (where and all cameras ) are available. Risk factors are more near to lorry / heavy vehicle’s halt area. If you are going with bachelor then no issues. If you are going with family, better stay near to toll plaza. Where the cameras are available.

I have been driving in highways for almost 13 years, i follow the same, lane discpline , driving at 100 km, indicators during change of lanes, ensure to wear all seat belts including second passengers, in case of emergency braking using hazard lamp in good point to alert vehciles at back is good point should use presence of mind and keep audio volume low also one more point and stop every 2 hours once wash the face take small rest and continue the journey will easy out tiredness..

Good Video. I have noticed in highways, cars tailgating a speeding car. This is not at all a good practice because: 1) we start to slacken in our concentration on the road as we will tend to blindly follow the car. 2) if you are on a smaller car (a hatchback) following a bigger car (an SUV) and in case the leading car has to switch lanes to avoid a cow or so, we may not be able to get proper reaction time to stop or swerve. So it is always wise to drive safely with a clear view of the road ahead without hindered by any vehicles at close range.

    1. Horn should be used only when it is absolutely required.
    2. Lane discipline must be followed even in toll lanes
    3. If two cars are going at a parallel speed, give a way to the other vehicle or just push your speed if the road permits. Because I always get distracted when someone follows me constantly.
    4. Do not take off your car like planes. Especially once the toll gate opens, do not flat pedal in 1st gear itself.
    5. Use toll side toilets and try to avoid stopping the car in the middle of the highway.
    6. If someone overtakes you, try to understand that they were already faster than you and do not attempt to compete with them

I'm a Proffessional Car Driver. I'm facing too many beginners in the highway for last 1 year. After Covid people bought a car and didn't learned properly.
Driving 40kmph in slow lane, No proper Lane changing signals, No proper indication of barricade ahead, they act like professional and trying to race with me if i drive little faster 😅
One of my frnd driving a car for 2 years and he doesn't know there is High beam exist in the car.
Dear beginners pls learn step by step about switches, Lane Markings, Road Signs, Barricade approaching speed and preference of upcoming vehicles, bla bla....
After proper driving of 30,000kms you'll become a professional without any doubt.
FIRST LEARN THE RULES, THEN BREAK THEM.

Dear Fam., in the highway/expressway driving ;when you enter the road after a stopover try to indicate with your indicator that you are entering the road especially in the night also when you are parking in the hard shoulder park you car parallel to the road do not park inclined (half of rear side on the road) which may lead to an accident.
If you are approaching to the "Rumble strips" with a junction area try to avoid accelerator which may give enough time to react to apply brake in any surprises.

Two doubts. Can you pls clarify..?
    1) In the six lane, After taking U turn, whether we have to move to slow lane or middle lane or fast lane ?
    2) In the six lane where there is slight S bend in the road design, sometimes we got stuck in the middle. At that time, either the rear of the SUV vehicle will be in the fast lane of the opposite side OR the front of the car will be in the fast lane of the incoming direction and there is possibility of collision. What is the correct method to cross at such places?

Super bro much required information.. adding few more points.
    1. During highway ride In most of the car people throwing plastic bottles, fruit waste, biscuits and choclate covers this is not at all good ..they are just throwing blindly in their cursing this should be avoided
    2. Suggesting to check tyre air pressure while return plan as well. it's not like the air pressure would be same as we checked in initial ..due to speed and temperature definetly pressure would be increased up to 7 psi..it's applicable for nitrogen gas too
    3. Using hazard lights on sudden breaking each driver should practice.....

In rains we should drive slow in highways... Because in some highways water gets stagnated near centre lane because of poor drainage system. The pool of water can cause aquaplaning which makes cars lose control...

    Entering and Exiting the Highway
    • Make sure you are in the proper lane well in advance so you can safely enter or exit the
    highway.
    • Yield the right-of-way to drivers already on the highway.
    • When you enter a highway, increase your speed to match vehicles already on the road.
    • If you miss your exit, do not stop. Never back up on the highway. Get off the highway
at the next exit and look for signs showing you how to rejoin the road in the other direction.
    • Be sure to signal your exit at least 500 feet before you reach the exit ramp.
    • As you leave the highway and drive along the exit ramp, slow to the exit ramp
    speed limit.
    Driving on the Highway
    • Make sure your vehicle operates well and can drive at highway speeds.
    • Stay to the left and only use the right lane for passing. On an
expressway with three or more lanes in your direction, use the far
left lane for slower driving, the middle lane for faster driving, and
the far right lane for passing.
    • Drive in the middle of your lane, staying between the lines.
    • Use your rearview mirror, check your blind spots, and use your
directional signals when changing lanes. Remember these three
    steps: (1) look, (2) signal, (3) move.
    • Do not drive in another driver’s blind spot. If you are in another
driver’s blind spot, safely drive through the blind spot as quickly as
    you can.
    • Look out for vehicles entering the highway and any vehicles or
    pedestrians in the breakdown lane.
    • Do not weave in and out of traffic.
    • Be aware of road construction signs, work crews, and signs that
require you to reduce speed or change lanes.
Avoid “highway hypnosis.” If you’ve been driving for a long time and feel tired, you
should get off the highway at the next exit, rest stop, or service area.
    • If you plan to drive far, stop and stretch every two hours or every 100 kms
    Turns
Many motor vehicle crashes are caused by improper turns. Take the following steps to turn safely.
    1. Plan for the turn. Do not turn suddenly.
    2. Signal your turn at least 100 feet before making the turn. On a highway, signal at least
500 feet before a turn. It is best to signal before you apply your brakes, so you make
your intentions known to other drivers.
    3. Reduce your speed.
    4. Check your mirrors for traffic behind you and check the blind spot on your turning side.
    5. Give the right-of-way when appropriate (see the Right-of-Way Rules section).
    6. Complete the turn carefully, making sure you turn into the proper lane
    Road Respect/Sharing the Road
Roadways are intended for drivers, bicyclists, and pedestrians. Courtesy is expected by all
who use the road. Motorists must be especially careful because more vulnerable users can
be seriously injured or killed. We ask that you show respect to people you share the
roadway with. Do not let your anger get the best of you.
How Can You Identify Aggressive Drivers?
Aggressive Drivers often do the following:
    • Cut people off
    • Exceed the speed limit
    • Switch lanes without signaling
    • Tailgate
    • Run red lights
    • Prevent other motorists from passing them
What Can You Do When confronted by an Aggressive Driver?
    • Attempt to get out of his/her way.
    • Do not challenge that person.
    • Avoid eye contact.
    • Ignore rude gestures.
    • Wear your safety belt. It will keep you in control of your vehicle and protect you
    in a crash.
Do not become an Aggressive Driver!

I think the tyre air pressure also matters while applying brake for the proper control on vehicles
many people use to keep there tyres like rock by over air pressure that also should be in mind over air also may cause of long slides proper air can may help vehicle to stop stable at least

Really great video in an easy to understand format. Also, one more thing you can cover in the next video: On highway, when two heavy vehicles are moving side-by-side, one slow and other fast, there are drivers behind the heavy vehicles, suddenly abruptly changing lanes to move into the lane where the faster heavy vehicle is moving. This causes chaos and dangerous situations to all the vehicles moving behind the faster moving heavy vehicle. Please talk about a solution for this problem, giving a good solution. Thank you

My #1 tip it might help someone, always drive defensively that is always anticipate different outcomes assume everyone else on the roads is drunk or is on learner’s license this gives a chance to be very conscious on road and it would help if something goes wrong you wouldn’t panic because you would’ve already anticipated that this helps significantly with reaction time it might be hard at the beginning but master it and you’ll be very very better in driving

A great video with all consolidated and valid points. Safety is always underrated , but very well highlighted on most of the important points. Much needed , hope this video gets a good reach , and many people ,including myself , will drive with safety and consciousness in mind. A point that needs more highlight would be also responsible mobile usage , instead of wavering or single handed driving. Hope this can be covered in future safety videos.

One thing I keep in mind while on road is every possible idiots will be on road and we have to ensure us as well as their safety as well. If some by chance try to cross the road and haven’t seen and came in-front of your car, you should be able to stop without hitting.

When you go on a long drive even if you you know the route, you can use the maps(specially at nights) with the maps you will know where you get sterp turn or slight turn, road junctions etc... This will help you to reduce speed ahead than at the last moment.

Good point ji, for night drive, though that route is well known route, still have the maps on, it gives you idea where you have sharp turns and bends very clearly, you can have an idea and calculate your speed.
