Recently I watched 'Let's Talk Religion' a RUclips video series which discussed about Adi Shankaracharya's ADVAITA Vedanta or literally non dualism. Swami Vivekananda had preached the same philosophy in the Western Countries. Other non-Hindu countries have a false notion that Hinduism is a Polytheistic religion with millions of Gods. But Hindu scriptures mention that Brahman is One. Everything; living or non-living being- viz. animate or inanimate comes out of it and returns to it. For eg. snow and ice is a form of water. We can't say Ice has attained a different sate or form than its origin. When it melts, it will return to its original form of water. Whatever we see in this world are illusions or self-imposed illusions which has to be removed by gaining knowledge. Which means everyone cannot realize the true nature of Brahman. Only those who are initialized to scriptures. This became a debate in the future. Questions arose does that mean that there is no God or no ultimate God and also that God can be achieved by true devotion towards Him or Her. Shankaracharya or Vivekananda has never said to stop worshiping Gods. They said Brahman cannot be explained, it has to be experienced by following the principles mentioned in the scriptures. Vivekananda's Guru or master was Sri Ramakrishna Paramahamsa who was know to be a great devotee of Goddess Kali, God Krishna, God Shiva. But he was generally know as a staunch Kali devotee.

More than the truth love...IF you were able to see into the future, would you actually really want to? Of course, only guessing but my instinct says most people would choose yes. But hey, talk about a curse dusguised as a blessing. We get up every day going by what every other day has taught us to expect, but its the hope and faith in the unknown that keeps us going. If you knew that no matter what you'd live to 100 or maybe die at 27, then you'd either stop trying or take for granted your gift...which would in turn change who you are at a fundemental level.

@@shireenahmad3600 I question God all the time and I believe in Him. I don't think the Bible is factual but I do believe there is a creator, one that kickstarted everything. The great part about religion and the universe is questioning things. It's not that offensive for someone to say God is fiction because, let's be honest, the biblical God very likely isn't real. Jesus was likely bonkers, and scripture was likely composed by talented yet power-hungry writers. And I say that as someone that has studied scripture and developed my own personal view on it, which I will not get into. So, let the creator have elements of disbelief. It's not hurting anybody. And if you truly believe in something, a short film won't change or influence your view; that, my friend, is an issue of the mind.

Okay, this film has been running through my mind for the past week. While I initially felt the story bordered on the supernatural, the more I rewatch it, I actually wonder if this deals more in the realm of mental illness instead? Hearing voices, no matter if they are coming from a pair of headphones or not, could be a sign of Schizophrenia. Audrey could have been manifesting these thoughts the entire time. Her doubts about her faith, relationship with strangers, and the stress of being a freshman could have contributed. In addition, 19 is around the time where Schizophrenia could surface (despite having no prior history of its symptoms). I know I'm reaching, but isn't a good film supposed to make you ponder?

I totally agree. Throughout this whole film I was thinking the only way that this horror short to the end without it being completely devastating is for her to die. Which I find is common for a lot of film centering around this dreadful existential horror. Although the thought definitely crossed my mind. I would’ve loved for her to more deeply interact with the ones around her to check if this voice was factual. she’s already pretty much excepted his voice as her God. Excepting everything it says as fact and almost begging for mercy in a way. Anyway yeah this is great and the suspense as the voice reads off the description of Jesus Christ is immaculate.

I’m an atheist and all, but… damn girl, all it took to get you to ditch your faith was a supposedly omniscient museum guide? I mean, I would at least check to see if any of its verifiable claims were accurate first and make sure I wasn’t the victim of an elaborate prank by someone following me around and broadcasting to my device somehow. And I feel like a more committed believer would just rip the headphones off and declare them to be demon-possessed before acknowledging defeat so easily.
I give her props for turning the thing on herself, though. Not sure I would have had the courage to do it, at least not for long.

I'm a Christian and from how I saw the machine work, I'd have assumed it is making the best educated guess it could make based on any 100% tangible evidence available to it (like a more enhanced version of Google). The JFK killer's body is somewhere decomposing, the pyramids are still standing, the futures of the students can be guesstimated based on the trajectory of their current lives (I mean any of them could accidentally slip under a bus and ta da: no more future). The only thing it can't predict is something related to spirituality (IE the deity of Christ. Sure he was born (that is the tangible part it mentioned) but to acknowledge the miracles as a part of His divine nature requires faith...I don't think the ipod has the ability to process information with faith lol). SO the most plausible explanation (for an omniscient ipod) is to say it is a story and to tack on some reasoning for it.
But the poor girl was having an existential crisis, I don't think she had time to work out what was going on😂

People speak of the burden of knowing 'the truth', but people don't seem to question if it is. Clearly she's experiencing something supernatural, or a psychotic break. The only info she 'learns' that she can verify is what she observes, or know. Everything else she's told could be completely false. If it is supernatural, would you not question if it was *reliable* ? Even if it was telling the truth about most things, might it not lie about 'the big stuff', depending on it's motivation? (feed on despair, cause misery, lead a person away from faith, etc).
My point it, if you ever start having a voice in your head that seems to know everything and telling you horrible secrets, maybe don't immediately give it 100% of your trust.

Imagine those dearest to you who have been nothing but kind & loving to you, yet you discover something very dark, even unforgiveable about their past? Would that be worth it? What good could come of it? Does he/she/we deserve a 2nd chance? More importantly would your own life be removed of all hope, meaning, trust and above all, faith? Consider that if you as a human never had to actually be vulnerable enough to exercise trust, faith, or even blind love. After all you'd know the end of every story you started.

What I don't understand is when it pointed the sculpture of Jesus instead of talking about who sculpted it it talked about who he was. That and the sidewalk where it describes the eventual murder of the lady she met. Its like her thoughts somewhat correlate to what the audio guide says?

I personally don't believe in god or spirituality of any kind, but seeing the realization hit her like that, destroying her whole world and leaving her baseless was very intense. I know people find comfort in religion, and she just lost a lifelong sense of purpose in a matter of seconds, literally felt like punching a baby in the face and leaving it crying in the dark. This film is 11/10, pure art, also the acting holy shit amazing

This was a fascinating work. To have that level of knowledge would be overwhelming and terrifying. Yet she was compelled to keep going with it.
It was a complex exploration of the emotional effects that information can have on a person. It is also a reminder that knowing the future could be devastating as we would likely be be living in a level of fear and avoidance.
This one makes you think and was deeper than expected. Excellent work and thanks to Chris Elena, the cast, and crew.
    Peace. Sincerely Robert

There is a monastery somewhere I think in some remote mountains I believe somewhere. I want to say these are mountains that belong to the Asian countries but I can't think of exact place. I was told about it that you can go and ask the monks there to tell you your life and they will write it all down for you and send it to you later...past, present, and future and you have the options to find out when you die or not. Most people I have talked to would choose the not knowing. Me myself I would prefer the knowing because I would plan my life backwards to that...however, I wonder if I was actually there if I would change my mind on this. It caused me a knee jerk reaction when she stopped the knowing about herself the second time and yet I completely understood. This video pulls you in before visuals even play which totally gives the title merit. Fantastically done addressing so many issues like free will, and whether knowledge is always good to share and faith crisis. Jam packed amazingly done. Thank you.

My first thought is that she's already created the painting and is about to be murdered by whoever is going to murder the whistleblower, right there in the bathroom. With the irony being that she created the painting that would make her famous before discovering that god and her faith was made up. And so, she dies, another victim of random violence knowing there is no god. Great movie. I love the concept.

So, she was scared to know her future! But gathered her guts after removing the crucifixion, which shows she puts aside her belief in God for sometime and believe in the audio. Then she is relaxed n happy to know that she will be remembered for her art work which will become famous after her untimely ....death! She is happy to hear that her life will be better and worth compare to all the people whom she checked through the phone.
