Bonjour Ted! I discovered you through your podcast that I absolutely love. Since then I have watched every one of your RUclips videos also. I admire your stamina and with Laura and Hazel by your side, you seem to have it all. Good for you! Thanks!
Everesting is incredibly impressive. Everesting in those conditions is even more impressive. Everesting in those conditions and being in such good spirits throughout is inconceivable. Chapeau, Ted - very well done!
It says something when so many people who Everest bring TWO Garmins because they just know they can’t depend on just one… even though they’ve been making the things since 1990
You inspire us all Ted thank you! Also, awesome to see your wife ride some laps and Hazel cheering you on :) Looks like you got a pretty good life Ted, good on ya!
Way to go Ted! You are always so positive! Love your videos and look forward to them every time they launch. Congrats on the New Year’s Eve successful eve testing attempt.
Yeah, the everesting was awesome and all that, but I felt the kinship and hit subscribe when you geeked out about your gearing and changing your own bearings. I love riding but feel just as challenged by the wrenching. Changed by first wheel bearings several years ago and I think I actually found perpetual motion!! Thanks for the video.
I just moved from Alberta to the east coast and have been super bummed with the lack of snow and wet weather ruining XC ski and fatbike conditions but you’ve inspired me to just go for it and get out there.
@@TedKing1 no kidding it’s been -40C for the past few weeks (amongst other non desirable things haha). That said, I’d rather have cold and snow than rain. The upside to Calgary is that it is only 2 hours to BC.
Inspiring performance. Quick question - about xplr cassette on 2x system, did it work on medium cage rear derailleur? I assume that you add to put a (longer) new chain too. Keep on the fun. Thanks.
That softshell looks rather rad, is it a mustard/custard in natural lighting but quite luminous (or even reflective) in direct lights or is that just a quirk of the camera light leveling? I'm moderately sure I'm not mixing up shots in the rain jacket and softshell...
I love Velocio for any number of reasons. The fact that their clothes are a tasteful high-vis is very helpful. Yes, that softshell is something of a mustard color. I don't think there's a formal reflective nature to it, but there are small reflective accents. It's terrific.
I was wondering this too. I've had great luck with Rene Herse tires (and will be using them for Rooted Vermont this year!). Any issues running the Stampede Pass tubeless?
I've always run them tubeless. They're not labeled as such, but they've worked flawlessly for years like this. Give it a whirl. Just don't overinflate.
I went beyond the segment for a few extra feet at the top and then on the descent there are a few feet extra before the climb. A few dozen extra feet per lap x 63 laps really adds up.
This is so hardcore. I've done two Everests but would NEVER consider one in those conditions. Massive congrats and 'chapeau' to you, Ted!
Most people attempt an Everest when the weather is half decent; Ted isn't most people - this is majorly hardcore! Fabulous!!
Thanks for sharing, and for putting in the last two laps…450 extra feet is better than 1 short. Loved the cameos!

Thank you Jaque! I appreciate the note very much.
9:20, when you said, "I'm so tired!", I misheard it as "I have snow tires!"

Well sometimes technical errors occur.
Amazing dude! Congrats on such a great way to close out the year!

Sweet! Nice winter effort!!
Congrats Ted. What an effort 👍
Happy 2022 to you all!
Happy New Year Ted! Nice job on your Everest challenge!
Huge congrats this was crazy with that wild weather!
Congrats. The gnarly weather is truly impressive
Rippppp it brother!!!! Thanks for another rad film! These videos make me so want to move to VT!!!!

“Mount Everest” hate auto correct
"Can't be THAT frustrated." Loved it.
Awesome 👏
Damn! That is hardcore! In those conditions!! Wow
Nice work Ted
And onec again, Ted does all the hard work but all Hazel needs to do to steal the spotlight is a uber cute cameo.
Great ride Ted! Reminds me of hill repeats, set the goal at 10, but do 11...

Chapeau!!! I hope to do an Everesting this year.
Kool Dude I think The Rest a American Pros are in Tucson Now doing The Shootout Ride lol
Love those 32mm tires, but I’m too fat to run them tubeless below 60psi hehe… time to get slimmer!
Ted you are completely bonkers but a hero :) From another King
Monster ❤️👏🏻

Yeah this is a pretty shite year so far. But could be worse... you could still be in Alberta. (Hahahhah, I'm kidding, I'm kidding!)

I remember that hill! 😬
Wild man. Kudos. Tim come lately.
Not the day you wanted your Garmin to do that. Happy New Year!
Well Done Ted!! Yeah don't trust the elevation, know how many laps you need and bang out one or two more. You aced it!
you are nuts :) and this made me smile.
John Mayer hair at 0:40
Awesome video. Totally get Bob Ross vibes though
🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
Vellocio gear is tops!
Omg Ted, those fender stickers have to be AT LEAST 0.25 watts, what are you nuts?? 😆

What bar end mirror do you use? Strong work! I loved the master of fact way you go about doing hard things. There’s a lesson in there somewhere.
It’s one thing to do that distance and elevation gain on a course, but to do it via LAPS of the same road over and over is beyond a mind game. Ouch!
That's a requirement for Everesting.
@@oldanslo Understand that, but still a true statement. 🤐
Standard Garmin 😂
Your hair!

yooo bikeman!
HAZEL!!!!
Stampede Pass tubeless? RH website says they need tubes?
I was wondering this too. I've had great luck with Rene Herse tires (and will be using them for Rooted Vermont this year!). Any issues running the Stampede Pass tubeless?
Hi, are you using a XPLR cassette with a non-XPLR rear derallieur?
Haven't seen the video yet, but I think the thumbnail is showing the Ama Dablam west face instead of Mount Everest. Is that on purpose?
His Garmin said it was Everest.
Seriously! no one is gonna mention how bad ass Ted looks with a beard?
Ted are those Stampede Pass a new Tubeless spec for them? I've been waiting and hoping for Stampede Pass in tubeless form...
Great effort Sir!
I've always run them tubeless. They're not labeled as such, but they've worked flawlessly for years like this. Give it a whirl. Just don't overinflate.
@@TedKing1 When you say don't overinflate, we're talking under 55psi?
Oh yah was a alcoholic for 15 years with 6 dui yes bikes have changed my life ...I have been sober for 4 years now ...
@@TedKing1 Thanks for the tip. Cheers and Happy New Year
Great effort by Ted, poor showing by Garmin. BTW, Google maps shows an elevation gain of 427 feet per lap, for a total of 26,901 feet.

Lol the footage he used is from 2012😂
