in this playlist, I am going to start Structured Query Language (SQL). SQL is one of the best database software which is broadly used. It is mainly the syllabus part of 11/12/BCA/BTech student and I have designed this in such a way that it is specially designed for 11/12/BCA/BTech student. In this video, I have explained SQL Constraints. SQL are basically set of rules that applies to a table. In this video I have explained Alter command in SQL which is one of the most important command of SQL.

at 10:18 it was gender column which we added not grade by the way fabulous way of teaching sir on whiteboard where everyone else teach on pdf which is not understandable

Hi Sir your way of teaching these concepts is really amazing and deserves as much subscriber as possible. Actually while writing query i am getting an error in "modify" and desc command please help. query and error is as follows
modify query ;-
alter table customer MODIFY name varchar(10)
error :
ERROR: syntax error at or near "modify"
LINE 1: alter table customer modify name varchar(200)

desc query
desc customer
error i am getting is below

can we add a new column after any desired column ... for example in the table emp if I want to add the gender column just after the name column ... can I do that?
yes you can ...the syntax would be
MYSQL> alter table emp add gender char(1) after Name;

Sir column name change krne ke liye RENAME keyword se nhi ho raha
for that we have to use change keyword
syntax: alter table CHANGE 1 space ;
sir please do it practically also so that we can understand easily

Sir why don't you use your PC or Laptop to show these commands instead of Whiteboard.... It will be really helpful

Using pc is not good for now....especially for board students since they have to write on paper and not on pc....so white board is perfect now...as according to me ...🙂🙂

I had a query.
After we add a new column i.e Gender , while adding the data into it.. why do we use the update command and not the insert command. Since we're adding the data into the new column and not modifying the data in the existing column. Please answer 😁

Because insert statement ek naya row insert karta hai. Par aapko already inserted row ki value ko modify means update karna hai... Samjhe?
