The 65 Buick reminds me of my 67 Fairlane GTA. The mid sixties we're the heyday for old classic full side muscle cars with big block power. Cool old car and great content Rich.
Thanks guys we're the same way, we're suckers for the old BOP stuff! Obviously if you look around our videos and parking lot ;) Lots more to come across the whole BOP universe from us!
Cargo springs are definitely a great idea as well, something we use OFTEN in the 68-72 generation of A bodies. This one also likely will be getting a rear bar at some point but that's going to have to be with all new rear arms
When doing a drum to disc brake conversion, make sure your master cylinder is capable to operate the larger pistons in the new calipers. Also check your brake bias, due to drum brakes needing less fluid to operate than disc brake calipers.
Those are both coming along with some new rear arms but will have to wait a bit, parts are expensive! The front suspension and arm are a HUGE improvement for corner and daily driving... making this thing less race car more street car :)
That's coming in the somewhat near future as well. These rear arms aren't boxed and don't have the provisions for the rear bar so... probably going to upgrade those to add a rear bar
Cool Buick, I was watching a other video you were doing and looking at the Olds on the lift wondering what's up with that. Should've guessed it was yours, those are the two GM intermediates that I would have of the four that were on offer back then.
@@LucoreAuto I am thinking with the drop spindles in front going to look seriously mean. Going to paint the scoop to match the hood? I can't tell if it is funtional.
My uncle had a few different skylark's. He had a 62 light blue with white top. All aluminum engine. Then a green 65 like this one. Then he had a Midnight Blue 65 Wildcat GS with a later model 430bb. He took a 71 t37 Lemans back over a mountain one winter.
Well thanks for stopping by Dave glad you enjoyed and maybe learned or relearned a thing or two! Always nice to have a new face and name around here. There's always more stuff coming so keep watchin :)
Thanks Keith there's a lot more in store for this ole girl to make her a better driver, her days of spending her only days in the sunshine on track are done. Certainly more to come!
Hellwig sway bar? They are great quality. Very pleased with them on my 71 Nova. If they have the option for your car, do the hollow ones. I also changed the sway bar end links to ones from Moog. Look up the chart online Moog has, to determine the length you want to match the ones the bar came with. K700529 is one part number to help you find the type. Also use the foam style bump stops like Bell Tech 4923 or Dorman 31064 which is for stock ride height.
I never seen anyone remove a brake drum quite like that before? Next time put some safety glasses on😀. As far as your exhaust goes, that is nothing a little heat and bend can't take care of. Put your jack under it and wind it up to where you want the height and just warm the pipe up with a torch to relieve the tension!
Theres a PACER,baby blue with a wood side paint or who knows but its so clean and ready for a 401 or 390 etc,340,its in Hampton VA craigslist in auto section.Original 100% not thrashed, like grandmas car.
We're always happy with the nasty sounds out of these Pypes kits! This is the 3" kit with X Pipe but a more street friendly muffler, the yellow Pontiac runs their 2.5" kit with Violator mufflers
We will yes unfortunately the rear arms aren't boxed and don't have the provisions for the rear arm. There WILL be new arms and a new bar in the future ;)
It's certainly not something WE would have chosen to do but it's been on the car exactly that way since the early 90s and we're suckers for that kind of stuff
As I’ve told you before Rich, I’m Buick through in through, I just love seeing positive progress on your 65.
Rich your Buick is beautiful. And you care for it. Like you do for all the cars you work on. Thank you for sharing!
Man I love your old Buick.....
Thanks, we rather love it too and it's gonna be even better by spring!
Love that car. I was a high school freshman when that was built. Always been a fan.
Simple classic beauty with a mean mean heart. Glad you like it and enjoy what we do Terry!
That's a beautiful Buick. She sounds good too. Looks like a very nice cruiser that'll knock the tires off whenever you want. 👍
That's EXACTLY what it's for, sound cool, look cool, be 😎 and smoke a set of tires on demand whenever needed. Glad you like it Lee!
Love the Skylark, looks good, sounds great and will smoke the tires on command! Outstanding!

love some hotrods
This Era is just ... well there's a reason SO many generations love these things. The styling is just... 😘
If you haven't noticed yet Bronson... so do we 😉
@@LucoreAuto oh yes i enjoy what you share
Love the chop chop of that 455!
She's got a dang good rumble to her through those Pypes Pipes!
The new stance is way better ...👌
Oh VERY much so! Parts on order to get the front suspension and steering dialed in... then maybe a bit more upgrade in the rear 🤔
That's a real nice buick!!! Love the old muscle car stuff, especially the old BOP cars!
Thanks guys we're the same way, we're suckers for the old BOP stuff! Obviously if you look around our videos and parking lot ;) Lots more to come across the whole BOP universe from us!
I've got a '65 convertable myself, been wanting to replace the suspension, amoungst other things. Gr8 video.
Very cool Car, very cool nailhead, nice lope!
2:06 Bless you Rich.
I installed the cargo springs in the rear of my gbody, along with a rear sway, which helped tremendously.

Best improvement I saw iny old Chevelle was a rear sway bar and a good set of shocks
Those are both coming along with some new rear arms but will have to wait a bit, parts are expensive! The front suspension and arm are a HUGE improvement for corner and daily driving... making this thing less race car more street car :)
Nice car Rich
Thanks Peter! We dig it for sure
I wished I had my dad's 65 LeSabre, you talking about a road car, 355 Wildcat engine with ac!!
Hell ya! Hey bro, you'd be surprised how much better the ride is on the A bodies with a rear sway bar!
That's coming in the somewhat near future as well. These rear arms aren't boxed and don't have the provisions for the rear bar so... probably going to upgrade those to add a rear bar
By the way, your 455 sounds WICKED!
Beautiful Buick, they don't make them like that anymore. nice Job
Part of why we love this era of cars they just have incredible styling and soul. That and big honking thumpy V8s ;)
dont forget to order ur back shocks as well Rich!!!!
Cool Buick, I was watching a other video you were doing and looking at the Olds on the lift wondering what's up with that. Should've guessed it was yours, those are the two GM intermediates that I would have of the four that were on offer back then.
Stance looks good on it.
Thanks Marcus it's a whole lot better with the new springs for sure. She's far from done yet, just waiting on more parts!

Rich love your car and what you've done with it. You done see them as often and one as nice as yours is even rairer
Nice Buick Rich my first time here and I really enjoyed it thanks for the lesson you’re very good at teaching
God Bless great video PEACE ☮️

Cool
Always appreciate your support!
I had a 65 Buick Gran Sport , it was a great car , I loved it .... but I was dumb enough to trade it in for a 68 Plymouth GTX.
HOWdy LUCORE,
Old BUICK - but not anyone's Grad-Father's BUICK
Hard to be a SLEEPER with that Hood Scoop
COOP
...
That exhaust sounds nice n nasty!
We're always happy with the nasty sounds out of these Pypes kits! This is the 3" kit with X Pipe but a more street friendly muffler, the yellow Pontiac runs their 2.5" kit with Violator mufflers
Sorry but you really need to ditch that hood scoop. 😂
455 engine if does that sucker will cook nice ride think they had the nail head thinking 431
Need to run em out past the bumper.
Are you going to add a rear sway bar?
We will yes unfortunately the rear arms aren't boxed and don't have the provisions for the rear arm. There WILL be new arms and a new bar in the future ;)
Sweet ride , much nicer than Austin’s cars 😂 jk I like the Pontiac and AMC too
From camera view it looks like one header is lower than the other.
Is it running a 401/ 425 nailhead?
This one is not, its running a "Stage 1" Buick 455
question why is there airbags and shocks?
Airbags are aftermarket coil springs and shocks are are on every old GM in 65
Air chisel?
whats with the chain on the driver side front?
it keeps the rubber engine mounts from going Wi-Fi
@@richardlucore6813 haha understood
Factory torx straps on most GM models at least.
BITCHIN RIDE 👍
Sound great but paint that scoop
It's certainly not something WE would have chosen to do but it's been on the car exactly that way since the early 90s and we're suckers for that kind of stuff
No safety glasses.... Come on Rich
Have to say she's a pretty sharp looking car but man that hood scoop is hideous
Don't want to be a hater but that hood scoop needs to go. Just saying.
caveman, then
