Amazing presentation girls! For starters, credit cards and mortgages are basically designed to pin you to a corner where your only option will be to work and work harder!!! Else you gonna find yourself in an undesirable financial mess! You can afford to skip a day or two and just chill at home if you don’t owe anyone but then when you got debts hanging around your neck, you can hardly breath!

So this is still happening after 12 years? When we came in 2010 it was so bad and we moved from the UK. We landed in Mississauga and after a few years moved to Ottawa. I would say that new immigrants should consider smaller cities outside of Toronto and the GTA. There are more opportunities and less competition. You stand a better chance of getting a better job that is not menial survival jobs at least you will not be demoralized. Then after a few years when your settled the move to the GTA will be much easier. Within a few years you would have found your feet and get accustomed to the Canadian work culture and society.

House buying starts from $600,000 in Canada as compared to US houses which are half the cost. i guess Canada benefits are one yr maternity leave, EI payments which is now 6 months in Alberta, free healthcare which taxpayer money has covered. Even new residents say when they get their passports they will leave Canada lol. 😮 everyone wants more money after taxes.

The whole starting from scratch in Canada is by design. Your required minimum balance you bring into the country keeps their economy afloat while you struggle to earn a decent living and pay a bunch of taxes. Also there’s a lot of racism in Canada that people seem to hush hush about. Plus 9/10 when employers reject you due to Canadian experience it is a polite way of saying no blackies welcome at that job.

I think one of the problems with Canada is the fact that qualified people have to come here and start over. And it’s no joke I know a lot of persons that had a great life back in their home countries that came here and had to start over from nothing. I think Canada should implement ways for people to carry over their qualifications instead of going through the whole process of schooling this I believe is one of the downfalls of the system because it happened to me. Consider the age of the people and the time it will take to fully get used to the system I’m just saying.

I'm always amused when ppl say they "were doing well in their countries" b4 coming to Canada. Then why did they leave their countries & move here? Did Canada plead with anyone to come here? If truly u were "doing well", its best to go back to where u came from & stop whinging. Life is NOT a bed of roses anywhere; u put in the hard yards b4 eating the fruit of the land. If anyone is whinging, it shldn't be Nigerians, who's country has collapsed completely & nothing works there. Let's get real folks!
