      100%, today's bodybuilding culture can definitely use a reminder from how it started, we need more people who talk about it.
      We've certainly lost some of the positive aspects of what started bodybuilding. Dropped you a like!

    Thanks for highlighting Mr. Koenig, a classic bodybuilder I hadn’t heard of or read about. I started lifting back in the late ‘60s and was fortunate to have access to Bob Hoffman’s and Peary Rader’s mags as well as Dan Laurie and Joe Weider and others. Over the 54 years I have been training as a natural athlete, Hoffman and Peary’s material and the athletes and writers they featured have stood the test of time and I credit them with getting put on a solid footing in my training that has kept me going strong and healthy my whole life. Seymour Koenig is my kind of lifter and role model.

    It's amazing how bodybuilding has progressed from the silver age to now. There are many football players and pro.wrestlers with better physics than those silver era guys. Those old time guys were unbelievable in their prime even though they did not have the nutritional supplements, exercise equipment or testosterone building gear like today. The Silver era bodybuilders is my favorite Era . Thanks for the hard work you put into classic bodybuilding!

    Venice Beach here!🏄‍♂️ Man i grew up around ALL these "old champs" on the Westside! My Uncle knew Seymour very well, I drove by his house across Marina del Rey Jr. High frequently! He was good buddies with Mr. ABS "Zabo", who I saw ALL THE TIME! Seymour was taller than Zabo and was ALWAYS in good shape, I thought they'd BOTH live Forever. I remember him being a Chiropractor. REAL GOD FEARING STRAIGHT MEN WHO LOVED WOMEN! 🙏

    This is amazing, don’t know why I’ve never heard of this fellow. Reminds me of reeves.
    One day you must do a video comparing the art of posing compared to nowadays. Frank Zane said don’t pose symmetrically but nowadays everyone stands with knees pointing out at 45 degrees, arms parallel like they’re carrying suitcases out to the side, looks really terrible imho.

    • @GoldenEraBookworm
      @GoldenEraBookworm  Месяц назад +1

      True about the posing. I actually wanted to do a video on how posing evolved from muscle control. Seymour was the man, and based his physique on Reeves...so it is no surprise that he developed this physique!
