Been my go to for over 10 years... can barely drink anything but Major D since that first cup all those years ago... been using an Aeropress last year or so, does a great job with the Peet's
I JUST got some of these beans from Amazon, very much looking forward to trying, curious though, I also bought a Cuisinart drip coffee maker but after watching this video I'm curious how much difference the gator pour over maker would make ? I also bought a decent bean grinder
That's awesome about the beans...so I think a Pour Over Maker makes the best coffee. The ability to brew coffee exactly how you want is a game changer. But I'm one who loves to brew coffee many different ways so I don't get bord lol
I use this coffee with a Keurig reusable pod where I can add the amount of grounds I want and adjust the temp and strength. I think it’s similar enough to your pour over method. Am I right?
No, it's quite different from a pour over. Mainly the speed in which it brew the coffee. If you haven't had a pour over brewed coffee, I suggest you give it a try 😁💯
@@AtHomewithLucas I get it. Thanks for replying, Lucas! I’ll definitely try it sometime. But in the mean time I’ll have to just use the strongest setting which increases the brew time. My favorite coffee is Major Dickason’s Blend. Take Care!
Oh yeah, I spent the first few years using a reusable kcup. One thing I found was if you get the grind just fine enough (before it clogs), the flavor is tops. It's basically just before espresso grind setting 👍💯😁
@@AtHomewithLucas Whole bean pour over. 2 lb bag like $12. Blows all their other coffees off the map I have tried there so far and most coffee shops I've ever been to. I'll be grabbing a few more bags no doubt!
Trying to find review that agrees with my opinion, this coffee is WAY overrated. Matter of fact, it actually tastes poor! Tried a bag of the ground version a couple years ago and thought it was bad. Purchased the whole bean version from Amazon yesterday, roasted on May 12, 2022, and it was no different. Wife hated it, as did I. Amazon gave full refund, pot was dumped, ground beans discarded. I now have a nearly full 18oz. bag of these beans to give away...
Oh my you are on a roller-coaster...so you drink drip coffee? And you ground the beans to medium/fine? Do you have any other way to brew coffee? I just would hate for you to end this story with a loss.
@@AtHomewithLucas From the moment I opened the bag and smelled the beans, my wife and I were put off. Ground medium, they smelled as bad. Smell of the coffee from our Bunn CSB3T was also bad, and taste was worse. I know I'm in the minority, but I think it's the pits. I've been on Keto for the last six months, and am drinking a helluva lot more coffee than I used to. Wanted to jump into something better than ground coffee from the grocery store. This aint it! Got some "Eight O'Clock Coffee The Original, Medium Roast, Whole Bean Coffee, 36 Ounce (Pack of 1), 100% Arabica, Kosher Certified" due today. Last time I had that from the grocer in a ground bag, didn't care much for it either. But it has as many, or more good reviews as this Peet's, so we'll see...
@@AtHomewithLucas Well, Eight O'Clock medium roast Arabica was better than Major Dickason's (to me), but not worth the premium paid. Still searching...
Oh my lawd, how in the hell would you be able to drink Maxwell House or Folgers? I think I just puked in my mouth a little! Those cheap coffees are awful.
Coffee Hippy, you already have the Hippy beard, might as well grow the long hair too.
🤣
Peet's has never disappointed me. Major Dickasons is one of my favorites!
Yes it's in my top 10 for sure 👍💯 😁

Wow didn't know it was that old. And that sounds like what people say about Folgers "been drinking it for two decades" 🙃
@@AtHomewithLucas Major D was created in 1979, so it’s older than you 😂
Yep I'm 87 lol
Absolutely. Love my major Dick…great blend, incredible taste.
Found this coffee about a year ago and I now cannot live without it. It is hands down the absolute best you can find at most supermarkets.
Love your reviews. I’m surprised you don’t have more comments and likes. I’m definitely sharing this.

Just scored my first bag from Costco and am blown away.
Awesome to hear that! How are you brewing? Also pre ground or whole bean? 😁

Oh that's awesome 👌 congrats
I still say you need to adjust the grinder as you are grinding to coarse. That is for boiling coffee. Needs to be a little finer. JS
👍
Looks very similar to kicking horse!
What Roast are you talking about? 🤔🙂
@@AtHomewithLucas specifically the Kick Ass blend that you reviewed last month.
Yes definitely similar looking 👍😁 good eye my friend
It’s def my fave!!
Awesome to hear 😁
Just bought 2 bags at Costco and definitely doesn't look or taste like a dark roast. Maybe mislabeled bags?
I think it's just one tick from being a Dark Medium Roast so they pushed it into the Dark Roast because they are the most popular Roasts these days.
Hey it's Major Dickason's blend NOT Major Dickinson's Blend.
Yeah I'm aware of that now lol 😆 I have dyslexia so sometimes that stuff happens 🤷♂️🙃
Thanks Lucas. This is my favorite coffee. You should do a versus like pikes place vs Major Dickinson.
That's funny because I was just thinking about a vs video...definitely will do my first soon 😁
In my coffee bar I have about eight brands of coffee. One of them is Peet's Major Dickason's blend. This is very good coffee. Dickason, not Dickinson.
👍
actually it is called Major Dickason not Dickinson 🙂
Hey thanks 🤦♂️ I do that a lot lol
Not for the feint of heart!
I like Peets French Dark but I don't much care for the Dick Blend, it has a chicory burnt taste and I don't like it!
Thanks for sharing

@0rnery you certainly live up to your screen name.
Dickason, not Dickinson.
