- The Conjuring, directed by James Wan, is one of the best horror films of the 21st century. It looks amazing, it plays on the audience’s worst fears, and it is based on a true story. But how true is it? There are a lot of films that say they are based on a true story just to get in an extra scare, but those claims rarely add up to anything more than a disclaimer on a movie poster.
Throughout the '70s, the Perron family claimed to have lived The Conjuring. The family members were thrown out of their beds, ghosts kissed them in the middle of the night, and they were preyed upon by the spirit of a witch named Bathsheba Thayer.

Andrea has said many times that Bethshiba never lived in the house. She and he husband owned a farm away from the Arnold estate. And that Bethshiba wasn't a witch, she was babysitting an infant and the child died in her care and the township tried to say that she k!77ed the baby as a sacrifice for the devil for beauty. But on one could prove it. I personally think it was jealousy of the women in that time who tried to have her hung. Cause witchcraft was and still is considered " devil worshipping".
Bathsheba was never hanged or killed she lived to be an old age and died of natural causes if I'm not mistaken.
@blakemcelrath54 yes she lived to her 90's and had 4 kids 3 of them died of diseases.
I can tell you about some shit that happened in my house, imagine waking up and a chair from the corner of your room is next to your bed, I've gotten used to it all now. I had to get someone to come round to help... it didn't 😂

As soon as he said a ghost was sweeping for them, and you said that’s a good ghost, I yelled out … I was about to say!! 🤣🤣 I mean even if it wasn’t all real, James Wan made a dang good movie to scare the bejesus out of a lot of us. 🫣 This makes me want to go watch it again. Lol.

To this day there are many paranormal investigators visiting that home. Some are fake and some are honest and do a good job investigating.
The entire family had things happening. Other people have owned the house and had things happen to them. The mother will never go back. The others have visited before.
I used to spend my summers at the cabins at lake Erie. I can promise you with everything I have spirits / ghosts are real!

Really? You're actually from the Amityville, NY area? I'm from Upstate New York, Utica to be precise! I've actually never seen NYC or Long Island before, believe it or not! I'm from Upstate NY but have never been downstate! And I love the Amityville Horror movies and the overall lore that comes with the actual real-life place! I would like to visit that town someday, but probably not the house itself! I wouldn't mind driving past the house to see what it looks like today, but I don't think I'd wanna stop there and go inside. I'll look at it from the road, but that's as close as I'm gonna get!
Back when the history channel had history, every Halloween they would show docs about the Hunted houses of America.

There was one of the ghosts that was in love with the dad.
I was born and raised in Rhode Island and bro, the whole state is haunted. Our family farm when I last loved there had 3 generations of my family haunting it. None wete nasty all friendly or pranksters but ive heard of naaty ghosts at different places.
I left when I was 17 for the military and now live in Texas.
The video left a lot of stuff out, including most of the info about the Warrens, but otherwise it was pretty solid
The background theme to that channels video is waaay to much.
Similarly the 1979 movie “the Amityville Horror“ spooky as it is, it’s not nearly scary as that fat little 315 page paper back Book that I read, or the actual true story. I may have been borderline too young to read it when I did, I read it when I was alone at night and I think because of that I still get the heebie-jeebies when I think about what’s inside of that book or venture into basements.
I couldn’t sleep after I watched it! And I refused to watch the second one.

The Warrens were a very interesting paranormal investigating couple. They had a museum that they kept haunted items, including the doll Annabelle. They were one of the early known investigators. The movie Annabelle is actually a Raggedy Ann doll kept in a sealed cabinet.
Lorraine did some investigations zfter her husband Warren had died where ghost investigations were first starting to be aired on tv. Occasionally should would be on the show Paranormal State.

MrLboyd, stay far away from the paranormal videos. Not all, but some of that fan base are one of the most toxic on youtube. I wouldn't react to any channel on here. Atleast the "entertaining ones". A lot of their fans fail to realize it's just for entertainment purposes, and if you make any logical comments or question anything. They'll find out where you live, threaten you and everyone you've ever met. Even your 3rd grade teacher. Think of them as a Hoard of mindless Zombies following the creators and if they discover anyone has even half a brain. They will come after you.

You should checkout the story that lead to the making of … THE ENTITY … ( Doris Bither story ) talk about psychological horror….. I seen the Entity when I was 10 … the movie came out in 1982 …. They have a documentary about it …. But be warned… sensitive and triggering topics in this story….
