You need a A frame tripod ladder. All the feet are adjustable, do they can be used on banks, ditches etc. I use my long reach hedge trimmer from it. Gives you a greater height and is safe, as long as you are aware you are up it. ( don’t stand back and admire your work, if you are😉).

I run a Stihl HR131 with the 1m extension and the hedgetrimmer head. It's a monster. But really heavy when the full rig is cutting on the flat. I'm well over 6ft and 20stone but I know I've used it for days after. I have used other brands down the years and you know what?.. when the blades are sharp they all cut as well as each other. I only chose Stihl in the end for the after service and it's longevity. Always interested in others experience of other brands though.

I promise you Wooly, use that tool for too long and your knuckles will be scraping along the floor on your way home.
Great and truly useful bit of kit, but as soon as you lift it off the harness it becomes so bloody heavy...
