ByAnyMeansBasketball I just wanna say you are under appreciated, just keep the good stuff coming. Btw, can you plz plz plz do Jason Kidd, he is underrated and is one of the greatest facilitators of all time 🙏
Love the video, but I disagree with the comment that shooting off his back foot / going to the left requires a ton of upper body strength. It does not. You think a guy who is 6'1" and 175lbs has a ton of upper body strength? What it requires is incredible balance / body control (you nailed that) and a mastery of early release timing which allows a highly efficient transfer of energy from his legs to the wrist of his shooting hand. Watch his shooting form closely. He hardly uses his arms at all to propel the ball. His release occurs very early in his jump, he's usually just a few inches off the ground when the ball leaves his hand. This has two benefits: 1 - it gets the ball out of his hand early so his shot doesn't get blocked, and 2 - it allows him to maximize the energy transfer from his legs. When I was a kid I remember my dad saying to me over and over, "don't launch the ball with your arms, it's all in your legs and wrist." Lou Will has mastered that. His shot minimizes wasted motion, and maximizes energy transfer. That's why he has such range. Also, you'll notice he actually doesn't "square to the basket". His right foot is almost always ahead of his left foot, sometimes by quite a bit. This means the joints of his shooting arm / shoulder are in a more natural alignment to the hoop. Shooting "square" feels pretty awkward for most people, and you'll notice a lot of great shooters shoot with their shooting foot forward slightly. As you mention, what Lou Will is great at is keeping his body stable and vertical as he releases, creating a steady platform to shoot from even when his body is moving at an angle to the hoop.
Love your channel! Colud you do a Goran Dragic Attention to detail? I thikn he has a lot of great moves and fundamentals, also a great bag of tricks and very crafty style of play. Thanks a lot for every video you upload, best individual player breakdown channel by far!
How does this channel not have 1-2million subs yet I’ve been here since last year when he has like tiny ant of subs and he should have 1-2 mill subs alr
Kareem Mercier I think Curry’s game kinda revolves around Steve Kerr’s system. Well obviously he can shoot the ball like crazy and finish around the rim and make plays but like most of what he does comes from coming off screens and pick n roll
