They were put together and given no free will from the start so maybe they have had conflict from the beginning and separating is what helped them become real friends. Well, you aren’t really close to all the people you talk to. Ik they were a band for like 5 years, but It does make sense for Zayn to say he wasn’t rly close to Harry. I know a lot family friends who I saw every day that I wasn’t close to. You can still be considered friends tho.

When Zayn said he didn't speak much with Harry, i think he was talking about the "FOUR" era, cos if you look at the clips, all these are from pre four times. They were close ,and infact Zayn loved all the boys and he genuinely cared for them ,he had a special friendship with each one of them. Since Four,he wasn't at his best and he started to grow apart from the rest of the boys,i still don't get if the boys didn't notice the drift. When he couldn't handle it anymore he left. They were put together and given no free will from the start so maybe they have had conflict from the beginning and separating is what helped them become real friends. Zayn also said he can trust harry with all the things he can't trust other ppl with . So they were more than just friends , I'm guessing he was forced by the management to say that so that even harry gets the hate for asking for hiatus or supporting Zayn and they don't leave .

When Zayn said he didn't speak much with Harry, i think he was talking about the "FOUR" era, cos if you look at the clips, all these are from pre four times. They were close ,and infact Zayn loved all the boys and he genuinely cared for them ,he had a special friendship with each one of them. Since Four,he wasn't at his best and he started to grow apart from the rest of the boys,i still don't get if the boys didn't notice the drift. When he couldn't handle it anymore he left. They could have handled it better. The boys were immature too, you can't really take sides here because both Zayn and the boys acted immature and messed up. Zayn probably said he didn't speak to Harry because he was angry at them and they didn't really speak much during the past months. And Zayn didn't expect the boys to avoid him after he left.
