Ritsuko Okazaki was truly a master at encapsulating the feeling of a series in a one to two minute segment of a song. In both Princess Tutu and Fruits Basket her songs perfectly matched what the vibe of the series was (or what it was supposed to be). The quiet, soft spoken singer, selfless in character, helping everyone else while needing help themselves. They are songs both of quiet mourning, nostalgia, and love. Despite the characters’ (Tohru and Duck/Tutu) losses, they persevere and help others. They love people even if they get hurt in return, and go on to love again. They are willing to fight and sacrifice themselves for the ones they love, even if they get hurt. Even if the person they are protecting doesn’t even love them back. It’s both happy and sad, and this song perfectly captures the end of Princess Tutu, Duck with Fakir, both together but still just out of reach. May Ritsuko Okazaki rest forever in peace, and be returned every kindness that she gave to both watchers and personal companions. I’m glad to know that in these anime I get to see her influence, I get to see her in the characters, and I get to learn how to be selfless and loving myself, despite hardships and shortcomings.
My God, I think princess tutu Is one of the anime that is the Emperor of being grace, calming and beautiful. While the animation wasn't anything to write home about, the message and the themes are one of greatest, the characters are what hold it together as an animation, and I've never seen a love square be as good as this. Super underrated anime, if you haven't watch it please go do it, I wouldn't reacommed it anymore.
Personally, I think the animation was amazing. For what it was back then, the animation was amazing. They very clearly knew what they were animating. This is probably because they took ballet lessons while animating (that's what I heard anyways.)
I watched this with my mom a long time ago, and I (only be like three at the time) only cared about Duck's pretty tutu when she took the form of the princess. Now older, I watched it a few months ago on VRV and it's definitely become one of my favorite animes. Similar thing happened with A LIttle Snow Fairy Sugar. How can animes that seemed to be so cute and adorable when I was younger, be so emotional and full of story-?
I wish they popped out more anime like this. I feel like the age in which they made wholesome and slightly catered to children, is kinda disappearing. this story is amazing, the animation lovely and the style so simple yet so pleasant
I have never watched or heard of this anime but I came across this song on Spotify, rn I seriously wanna watch this anime, the animation and song sounds so beautiful
Words cannot explain how much I love this anime. It changed my life and I love the characters, story, and plot. I love it so much I’m even using it as my quinceañera waltz 😅

The nostalgia of it takes me back to my early childhood in the late 90s/early 2000s. It will always remain in my heart 💗🌙🦢 :)

Morning Grace
Sung by: Cyrille Aimée
J'irai
English Version
A voice is calling, come, open your eyes
Wipe the tear stained face
A radiant light and the dew of the trees
are born
At the secret waterside that no one knows of
Dance the pas de deux of life
I dream of today again
It is a gentle, yet violent, current
How far does this labyrinth go on?
I will go
And tightly grasp onto my dreams
A voice is calling to me, I am needed
It’s so sad, I’m lost
A bird flying off, a wavering flower
They whisper
Goodbye my tears, you are wonderful
Dance the pas de deux of life
Dream of tomorrow
I'll pass it to this hand
With one smile, and see
Such warmth
At the secret waterside that no one knows of
Dance the pas de deux of life
I dream of tomorrow
It is a gentle, yet violent, current

Or Apple Music 😔
I just found the instrument tho. But didn't find this original ver. 😔
The singer who sang this doesn’t have a Spotify sadly, I have been searching for a while to find her songs on Spotify but alas it is not there yet. Let’s hope that her songs are available on Spotify soon.
@@mikuzillas she sadly passed away, I don't think they'll ever come to other platforms.
I just spent a hour trying everything to find it but I doubt itll ever get put on there im trying to find a way to add it tho
i loved princess tutu with my soul :’ )
This is absolutely beautiful, makes me want to cry
娘が私の為にカラオケで歌ってくれたんだよねー。10歳の時に歌ってくれて、この前もコロナになる前歌ってくれたんだよねー。
This song came on my autoplay and i recognized it immediately.
Nostalgia hit me like a freight train, this was my first anime, i remember looking up the episodes on youtube when i was kid, makes me eanna rewatch it
Geez I was literally just thinking about this anime and this song last week, didn't search anything about it on RUclips, and here it is. Internet what are you.
As I remember I love it how this anime end so hurt for the mc. Like, she can't be there with the prince
DAMNNNN I JUST FOUND OUT ALL THE SONGS I LOVE ARE BY THE SAME SINGER
I want to re watch it now gosh🥺🥺
I still go and watch this on prime every once in a while
God how long have I known this anime... since I was born I think
Listening to this late at night, it makes me want to waltz with my girlfriend at a royal ball. God I need to sleep.
I’m still mad they took it off Netflix
Building a great song around Tchaikovsky? Ritsuko is a genius. The Waltz of the Flowers never sounded so good.
(well... it did, but you know what I mean)
I know that but Disney also included Waltz of the Flowers in Fantasia (1940) and Disney Infinity (2013)
god this song is so soft that it feels wrong to swear while talking about it
This was my anime as a young girl who had taken ballet classes ☺
I never watched Princess Tutu but I’ve definitely heard this song, I don’t even know where. Feels like a dream.
Este anime es precioso, y su soundtrack, ni se diga; me fascina muchísimo
Whenever I am extremely worried about something or close to panicking, I listen to this song. It always calms me down.
Guess I know what I will be listening to for the next few weeks at least :/
things will get better, hopefully
The chills I had when I first watched the OP....
I did hear of this anime years ago but I only checked it out in full earlier this month! Really worth the time spent x it's nice to watch some older anime as well as the new stuff
