So many years later, and it still hasn't lost any of its magic. I like to imagine that someday you'll come here and skip through the comments, barely even aware that you once sent me this on a rainy day, when I was in a rush to go somewhere, back when we still were trying to find our pacing after some rough time where we almost forgot what brought us close in the first place. You sent me this song, and at the time I probably couldn't translate into words how touching that was... You were back there... but it was not the same... I was in a rush, and I couldn't make the time to tell you everything I wish I could... I don't even know if you would want to hear it... It was still too fresh, and I couldn't tell if it would last. I remember you, and every time I think of you, that same day rushes back into my mind like it was yesterday. It was not the song, or the happiness of having you back, it was the act, it was knowing you were thinking about me, it was knowing that even though I couldn't make the time, you were there, and after I come back I would have someone to come back to... It was knowing you were there. That's what I miss the most... That's what I still miss to this day.
A real Coldplay feel to this, but better, in my view - none of the Coldplay self-consciousness. The Hopkins/Creosote partnership has the potential to be really big - if they want it to be, of course, which may not be the case. Diamond Mine is one of my favourite albums just now. Oh, and Creosote lives half a mile along the coast from where I lived as a boy ... all the best for him!
