I worked her stage show at the Masquerade in Atlanta several years ago - she is one of the most kind and gracious people I've ever met. Truly a super star.
I saw Siouxsie in at the tower theater in philly back in 91. A bouncer was a little too rough with some peeps in the front row. She stopped the show and threatened to jump down and kick the security guys ass. No exaggeration. All time favorite artist for both her style and substance.
Always and forever, thank you to Great Britain and the British people whose creativity, since the 1960s, has given the rest of the World hundreds of unique bands such as the Siouxsie And The Banshees and music of unparalleled beauty, quirkiness and atmosphere. What would our lives have been without British bands? Thank you from Sicily.
@@jmack8767 J Mack, I am more interested in thanking those bands before I die rather than publishing what my favourite songs are. This is true Siouxsie fan music, it doesnt get better than this. You cant begin to describe what it feels like haering these songs and being a fan. We are blessed to have had her!!!!!!!!!!!!
The music track is simple but at the same time oh so powerful. A wonderfully written track. I'd live for 200 years and I still wouldn't be able to compose a song as good as this one. Anybody can write a song but adding magic to it is another thing.
Saw this live on the peepshow tour at the Portsmouth Guildhall, for every shutter click there was a huge strobe effect, and over the course of the gig Siouxsie's hair went from teutonic bob to wild mane. A good gig.
I remember dancing to this at Knott's Berry Farm's "Studio K" in the 80s....smoking cloves, black eye liner, layers of black flowing clothes, singing out loud every word...good times
I wanted to share this with a young lady that doesn't know how important this band is ! Siouxsie , Budgie and the many members of the Banshees, (Robert Smith of the Cure inluded) Gave us a band that was unlike the Sex Pistols and quite unique and still considered punk when it first came out!
There first few songs were straight up punk: Hong Kong Garden, Love in a Void, Jigsaw Feeling, their cover of Helter Skelter. But even from their debut they started experimenting with more complex structures like Switch and by the time Kaleidoscope came along, they had distanced themselves from the strictly punk sound.
I love this song, brings back so many memories, they don't make music like this that was magical time for music in the 70's and 80's ,never to be repeated again,I'm so glad I was alive to experience it and live through that time.
Word, couldn't quite place it at first-was so impressed with many elements of Sant's album-she really pays hommage to so many artists I grew up on-including the lovely Sioux!
This song just makes me have a strange sensation in my spine, and I don't think age matters when it comes to liking certain music. I'm 13 and I love Siouxsie, Morrissey, Bjork, Kraftwerk and all that great stuff! My parents have good taste...
This was for me the perfect song on that album. A new take on the electronic minimalism of The Normal. Brittle, sharp but incredible pop! And a great dance song too.
Why are people talking about Madonna on every Siouxsie video? I've been a huge fan of both women for years and years and have never noticed any similarities between the two!
I don't understand why people are saying "music today sucks!!" That's not true at all. Keep looking--you WILL find something you like. Siouxsie & the Banshees didn't sound like ANYONE from their own era; you can make comparisons to The Cure, Cocteau Twins, My Bloody Valentine, etc.. but at the end of the day, Siouxsie, and ESPECIALLY a song like this, is BEYOND time period. No music, from before Siouxsie or after, will ever sound like this.
For a video with an obviously low budget, it's extremely stylish and goes with the song perfectly! GO SIOUXSIE! GO SIOUXSIE! SIOUX! SIOUX! SIOUX! SIOUX!
My sister's freshman year roommate was English and had this on vinyl -- I thought it was amazingly cool then, and I still like it today. Ahead of her time, in both sound and style.
It seems no one else finds this song to be as gloriously sleazy-sounding as I do... but those are the words that spring to mind! And, by the way, that is not a slight, it's praise for the ambiance!
This album and this track defines their career. Morris and McKay left and things could've ended there. But they finished the tour with Smith, and did Kaleidoscope with synths, drum tracks, and a couple of blokes named Jones and McGeoch. The rest is history.
A long time ago, I once had a band called The Kodak Whores which I named after the lyric in this song. There were three of us and then after one year we changed the name - well, just one letter actually, to The Kojak Whores, in tribute to Telly Savalas who had just died in 1994. Anyway, SATB remain probably my all time favourite group, ever. ...... Their albums and singles are ALL fantastic, wish they were given more recognition even after all this time.
I was a gothic teen in the 80s so Siouxsie was my idol. She's iconic!
🕷️🥀🧛♂️⚰️🖤🖤
What a surprise.
Im 12y old and i know so lot about her. Todays music is shit and goth genre is so much better
@@Abielunaine true all that rap bullshit is shit i only listen to darkwave , opera , heavy metal , death rock
I hear you! Even Shirley Manson from the band "Garbage" said that Siouxsie was her Idol and Hero!

That lo fi, early 80’s, dark razor sharp synth vibe shining through... What’s not to love?
But I wonder what it would've sounded like with a staccato electric piano part (a la Toto's "Hold the Line") layered on top of it?

Watching her perform Red Light in concert is positively life changing!
One of my favorite songs on this album. It's so seductive yet dark compared to other parts of the album.
Song holds true more now in the age of social media and reality "stars".
Yes Mary I hear ya!! or facebook follies lol
True that
It was bad back then. It's worse now. way, way worse.
Beautiful goth undertones, One of the coolest videos ever.

Queen Siouxsie holding court in the dark room is one of the great goth crown jewels of all time ...
ICONIC

the beat of this song just blows me away...I can't believe it...this song is so good.

Do you know that at the beginning, Sid Vicious from the Sex Pistols was their drummer ? 😀
@@transmissionmusic yes I did know that.
"Kaleidoscope" is a very interesting album and lot of good songs there.I like this camera sound in the song. Nice mood. I love early Siouxsie.Thanx.
This music video has reinforced my will to live.
You still here?
I love this song, brings back so many memories, they don't make music like this that was magical time for music in the 70's and 80's ,never to be repeated again,I'm so glad I was alive to experience it and live through that time.
In the late 80's, I would play this in a darkroom while print for 12 hours straight. Excellent choice!
Word, couldn't quite place it at first-was so impressed with many elements of Sant's album-she really pays hommage to so many artists I grew up on-including the lovely Sioux!

One of their best songs by far.
i saw this song live at the wiltern theater when they came to LA . what a treat ! siouxsee rules !
That synth is so evil!
But yet so delicious, in its "evilness".
Even if that were a MiniMoog, it probably would still have sounded just as nice.
First thought of Soft Cell when I heard this just as dark and evil as Sex Dwarf LOVE this song
Yamaha CS15
Great music when i was 15. And this is still great !
Gunnar Karl Halldórsson you have good taste. I love it!
Agreed!
One of the greatest videos of all time! CLASSIC
This was for me the perfect song on that album. A new take on the electronic minimalism of The Normal. Brittle, sharp but incredible pop! And a great dance song too.
My fav Siouxsie song 📸🖤

This sound is turning it.love her music..can't get enough.
Enjoy then, she's done a lot of her music over time.
nothing like watching this at 6am after not getting any sleep... pure art!
I am so glad to have grown up In the late 70s and 80s siouxsee Is the coolest and that era of music rocked !

man this song takes me back to the old goth club days... slinking around in the fog, pointy boots and clove cigarette in hand... =)
I like this video, its one of a kind! so 1980 retro look!
Bons tempos..........!!!
Se existe uma máquina do tempo

Love this song, classic lyrics, love the camera sound, beautiful.
THATS HER BEST SONG....OMG I LOVE IT......

I think this is my favourite song of all time.... ever!

I love the after-hours, underground feel of this video.

I love this song!!! I love Siouxsie too!! I have listened to this son like 5 times today
Such a dark and enigmatic song. Makes me want to randomly pose in various positions wearing fashionable clothes.
+Remy Lov It's an infra-red song!
+David Foucart infra-infra-red song
+David Foucart red light is on if i die i die!
+Remy Lov LOL you've got it! it def calls for long black lace gloves and ten tons of eyeliner ! Amazing how evocative music can be ,or provocative ;)
Mee Too!
This used to be my favorite song, still kind of is.. Just forgot about it.. God I love this song.
Thank you so much for keeping this up.
i wish i was alive in 1981. this is amazing
thank god for people like you keeping it real!
The sound was ahead of it's time. Awesome synth. Forever siouxsie
Absolutely - or Dario Argento! This is one of my favorite music videos ever. It's just so beautifully made.
Great stuff! One of their few songs with a drum machine and a synth!
Never too late.Hopefully they will tour again...I never saw them and I am old. Wish I had.
100% agree. Music nowadays just isn't the same.
YaaaaYYY Siouxsiegirl! Linda is going to see her again!!!!

i love listening to this song in photography lessons x)
Perfection and Genius
Kaleidoscope é um disco excelente!
one of my personal favourite Siouxsie songs/videoclip, nice!!! :-)
This album and this track defines their career. Morris and McKay left and things could've ended there. But they finished the tour with Smith, and did Kaleidoscope with synths, drum tracks, and a couple of blokes named Jones and McGeoch. The rest is history.
I saw them live in 1988 and they unexpectedly played this one..f**king brilliant!!
Thanks. This is the shit. Those new electro bands don't have shit on Siouxsie!
aaah the rhythm is so awesome in the last few moments
favorite song from siouxsie, love her ♥️
Now that is AWESOME! Cool memory. :)

When i'm 6 foot under all my banshees stuff is coming with me so i can still listen to it while i'm stoking those fires !
Siouxsie forever!
this is my FAV for play during a fashion foto-shoot even though the models may be too young to know of siouxsie... some wise one appreciate her tho...
This was the inspiration for my 1986 art O level exam, sadly it resulted in a D grade. Classic 80's alternative track though.
One of my fav songs from siouxsie and the banshees
Cuando la escuche no pense que fuera tan vieja la cancion, muy buena rola!!!
Very good . Fantastic song
FANTASTIC!
The Concept of tbis album.is so iconic! Those blinds never look so Dark! Usually they were very bright!!
she is amazing. great song

Wow... never seen this video... amazing!
still listening in 2018
Every time I walked past one of those horrible Glamour Shots places in the mall this ran through my head.
I don't know why I'm in love with her !!!
Love the use of the synthesizer in this song. Can be from Forbidden Planet or Holloween (original), sets such a great mood for the lyrics.
My favorite song by this band
Loved this
Then again, music isn't about making money! Madonna and Siouxsie both have talent in their own respect!
NO WORDS . SEM PALAVRAS . ESSA ÉPOCA É FODA . THIS AGE IMPOSSIBLE SEE AGAIN.
wow have not really heard of this before i really like it but it was before my time 03-15-85 lol
Oh yeah!Great great great.
GREAT Siouxsie photo-related track! I use this in the studio as often as able...
SHE was/is an original. Enjoy her art...
Heavy ! She's A model and she's looking good.
siouxsie is as was always queen of punk the best!
yes. I love the dark sound to this song.
So sharp it bleeds.
this is soo bad ass!!

That's quite insightful, and I agree with you.
