Signing out of your Gmail account can be useful in a number of situations, such as when switching devices, temporarily lending your phone to someone else, or simply to ensure the privacy of your data. This process is relatively simple, but may vary depending on the operating system of your mobile device. Here I will explain how to sign out of Gmail from an Android phone.
    1. How to sign out of Gmail on your Android phone:
Signing out of your Gmail account from an Android device may require you to remove the account from your device, which does not mean that you are deleting your Google account permanently, but simply unlinking it from the phone.
Step 1: Open the settings app on your device. You can usually find it under the name "Settings" or "Configuration."
Step 2: Scroll down and look for the “Accounts” or “Users & accounts” option, depending on your Android version.
Step 3: Select “Google” to see all the accounts linked to your device.
Step 4: Choose the Gmail account you want to sign out of.
Step 5: Tap the “Delete account” button, usually at the bottom of the screen.
Note: This process will remove the Gmail account from that device only, keeping your data intact on Google servers. Also, some apps connected to that account might require you to sign in again.
    2. How to sign out of Gmail from the Gmail app:
Unfortunately, the Gmail app on Android does not directly offer the “Sign out” option. However, you can do the following to sign out:
Step 1: Open the Gmail app on your Android device.
Step 2: Go to the top right and select your profile picture or your account initial.
Step 3: Click on “Manage accounts on this device” (or a similar option).
Step 4: You will be redirected to the “Accounts” section in the device settings, where you can delete the account by following the steps mentioned above.
    3. Sign out of Gmail from another device:
If you don’t have direct access to the device where your account is connected, you can log out remotely using a browser.
Step 1: From your computer, log in to your Gmail account.
Step 2: Go to the bottom right of your inbox and select “Details.”
Step 3: A new window will open showing all the locations and devices where your account is active.
Step 4: Click on “Log out of all other sessions.”
This will help you keep your account secure by signing out of devices where you may have forgotten to do so.
