    Thanks for the video. I got to revisit mine and finally set it up properly and mainly get used to using it. Got one installed and it has been sitting on the machine for over two months. Just tried it once or twice. This proves I could have saved a lot of time already...

    Haven’t even watched the video yet, but if you’ve got this thing figured out you are my hero! Mine in LinuxCNC has been giving me nothing but problems.
    Whatever they use for the top disk material is hard. I've smashed an 8mm endmill into it (because I programmed it going the wrong way in a G0 move :D) and it didn't even make much of a dent

    • @ChristophLehner
      @ChristophLehner Год назад +1

      It took me.2 weeks fiddeling to get this thing working 😅
      The topcover must be made out of carbide, mine came loose so i had to glue it back in, and this disk is really heavy
      Yeah wiring the overtravel switch should be mandatory, i also broke mine, doing a g0 x0 y0 z0...

    • @BryanHoward
      @BryanHoward Год назад +2

      @@ChristophLehner Same. Every single person that has used this very style of tool height setting has said that the puck has come out during shipping.
      I smashed mine even when testing out the over-travel switch because they don’t give you any extra travel for your machine to come to a stop.
      The Z-max G28 thing is likely why I couldn’t get it working reliably in LinuxCNC so I’ll have to visit that again.

    u can calculate the tool length if u have good software, u give it a probing of the bottom part where the toll enters... and then u just probe the tool ... and the difference should be ur tool lenght... is not so much different than probing with clamps on a metal for Z positioning...

    Moin, es gibt bei Ebay gebrauchte Lasergabeln mit 80mm Schenkelabstand für um die 20 Euro. Die sind extrem genau. Industriestandard mit IP67, meist laufen die zwischen 18 bis 32V. Ich wollte mir auch erst was mechanisches kaufen, dann bin ich über die Lasergabelmethode gestolpert.
