When Elvis sings this song with his incredible Heavenly beautiful voice and those stunning good looks he turns it into a magnificent melancholy masterpiece that haunts and thrills you to the very core of your being and sends shivers down your spine. I don't know how else to describe it but I totally love it!! The! Music just flows through his body like an electric current making it so so thrilling and sensual!! I could actually see and even hear shivers going through Elvis as he was singing - that is just how intense his passion and emotions are in this performance and well this is how he makes every song he sings his very own!!!! It is an absolute Elvis phenomenon!!! Elvis is just out of this world!!! Only Elvis!!! Thank you so much Seph!!
The show was aired in over 40 countries, and was seen by 1.5 billion viewers. It's still today the most watched entertainment show with only one performer
So cool the way that Elvis impressed himself with that low note. He was so humble that he very rarely gave any indication of how he felt about his own vocals. And yes, it is a very sad song.
Gone way to soon, we're so lonesome we could die, no more around us. But I love remarks that have been made by his daughter Lisa, who sadly we have also lost, she said when she was a little girl on her trike playing at the foot of the stairs, her daddy would come down the long staircase looking beautiful wearing clothes with gems and chains on his belt, looking perfect she said I thought heaven had sent me an angel, that was my father". Thanks Seph🥰
You're very thoughtful Seph to offer comfort to anyone who is feeling lonely .Very kind. I love this concert too..when he sings country and his voice breaks .... it's easy to feel the emotion of the song. Even he felt it...Beautiful. Thank you for reacting to this concert.Love it🌻
There was a music historian who said he had a cry in his voice. Elvis really had an innate loneliness his whole life. Many professionals think that happens when you lose a twin because it’s a part of yourself. What a great complicated soul he was. Truly a legend. 😢❤❤
this show Live Album went #1 in Us(Billboard) and Us Country chart and Number 1 in canada //The album was certified Gold on February 13, 1973, platinum and 2× Platinum on May 20, 1988, 3× Platinum on July 15, 1999, and 5× Platinum on August 1, 2002
Thank you, Seph!❤ I think it`s time we Elvis fans start a "Seph Goes To Graceland Donation". I would enjoy every single moment watching you at Elvis` most beloved safe Haven. My incurable disease makes it impossible for me to ever go to Memphis. But I would really love to see you go.
In one of his rare interviews Elvis commented that his music was a combination of R&B, Gospel and Country stating that the Grand Ole Opry was probably the first he heard on the radio. This song reflects the country influence from those shows.
I love the gentle backing and simple reflections of a person feeling alone. We have those moments don't we? It doesn't make them the saddest in your whole life but the feeling at that precise time is incredibly sad. You can feel very lost.
He is beautiful ❤ I saw him in person ❤ I am so glad you appreciate him Seph❤ I’m lonesome a lot 😢 Thank God for my beautiful kitty ❤ I’ve been in love yes in love with Elvis since 4 or 5 years old and am now 66. I still cry sometimes but God wanted him to rest. When Elvis went to Heaven a piece of my heart went with him and I didn’t do well for a long time. I was looking forward to seeing him again in 4 days 😢 I’ll forever be in love with him ❤
I really don't know what it was about Elvis, but I'm just in a trance when watching him, he doesn't need to do anything fancy, just his facial expressions and voice has me 😂🤩❤️ beautiful song, not a favourite, but lovely xx
Hank Williams did the original. B. J. Thomas' breakout hit in 66 was this song. I'll give the edge to Elvis, but everyone deserves to listen to BJ's version. BJ and Elvis never met but Elvis had said that he liked his voice. After Elvis died BJ did the concert dates. But he didn't do any Elvis songs out of respect. I didn't detect an accent from Elvis doing this song. Does anyone else hear an accent?
I love this song 🎵 ❤️, it's good 👍(not bad, if your into country music), also this is the best cover of the song and Elvis could do it all (talk about a Renaissance man)...thank you for sharing Seph.
Hey Bro the Seph have u ever been that lonley it has made u cry well im telling u it is as sad as u can get been in pain because of your own lonliness is tragic it dont feel great
Hi Seph. Oh, my this is a sad one. But very beautiful and haunting. Hank Williams is the writer. Hey, when a concert is sent by satellite to a billion and a half people, they better pick great songs.
I agree that I'm not so sure it's the saddest song I've ever heard. More like hopelessness. But love the song, nevertheless. I've always been happy that Elvis didn't completely lose his southern accent. It adds so much to feeling of his singing. I hate that his songs, especially the older ones, are just so darn short. I've read that it was because in the early days the songs were short so they could be played on jukeboxes. I'm old enough to remember the ones that sat on tables at places to eat. Thank goodness for the Aloha from Hawaii special. There really isn't that much that's been recorded of Elvis' live performances. Snippets for the documentaries, That's the Way It Is and Elvis on Tour. I'd give anything if they would release everything they recorded for those.
There are 3 songs that I no longer listen to because I find them extremely upsetting - in order of the worst for me -- "The Sound of Your Cry," then this one, & then "In The Ghetto." It could also be due to Elvis' voice, his extremely convincing emotion like it is happening to him, his phrasing. I might not be affected too much if I head someone else do it. (NOTE: I did listen now.)
I'll be a contrarian on this one, and really this entire show. I hate the Aloha special. He looks sick, and you can hear that sickness in his voice. This was the beginning of the end, and I think he gave up at this point. I've heard that he was depressed at not being able to tour Europe because of his rat manager, and regretted not doing A Star Is Born with Barbara Streisand. There were highlights like American Trilogy, but he was a shadow of his former self. He was 39 when this was filmed and would be dead 3 years later. The tragedy of all this is that as great as Elvis was (he's the GOAT), he only scratched the surface of what he could have achieved.
Love it, love it. I just love that man !!!
Sung Live! No Autotune. Just a God Given Talent. It's like hearing an Angel bellowing from heaven.

I get sad from time to time. But when I watch your Elvis reactions you always bring me joy and I feel better. You are so sweet!

brilliant
He gave himself the Elvis bumps! His southern drawl was adorable! Just beautiful.😍
⚡️❤️👑❤️⚡️
Takes Elvis to chill Elvis!!!❤
I like that!! Thank you!

What a voice in here.
As only elvis could deliver.
Seph what a good and loving heart you have ❤
What a beautifully arranged and sung waltz. It really showcases Elvis's tender lower register.
Love when Elvis makes himself even chill!!! Oh my!!! 😍 Perfection! That voice is so fantastic! ❤
You're very thoughtful Seph to offer comfort to anyone who is feeling lonely .Very kind.

Great song one of my favourites.

The guy knew how to tell a story. Thx for this one Seph. It is one off my favorites. The words, the voice, the realm. And his smile when he shudders.

Hank Williams original.....sung so great by Elvis.
Ahh, beloved Elvis....wish you were here - the world needs you ❤️⚡💯

According to Baz Luhrmann, he's working on a documentary using "a treasure trove of unseen footage" found during research for his 2022 Elvis movie.

By the way I looked your list twice and can't find The sound of your cry.

😮
This song from the legendary Hank Williams is not to my liking. Hank wrote so many better songs that he could have chosen instead. A skip for me.
Aw, you never like the sappy ones. 😉
@@jjbud3124 I had to google "sappy", I guess you are quite right jjbud. I have a hard time with the sappy ones.
