Hey man, really appreciate content creators like yourself who give credit on the material they use! is great to see and you covered the build very well. a few comments on things. primal resonance doesn't trigger on regular minions like cold beetles from a shrine, "companion" is a minion subtype specific to primalist and is only the minions that go down to be revived. As long as you don't try and fit another companion skill into the build swipe will always proc venom nova. Unfortunately the same is not the true for blessing casts T_T having either the cold conversion or the pull node on warcry is heavily recommended for harder content. The knockback tends to push bosses into dangerous AoE pools and can make bossing an absolute chore. it's easier to stand somewhere safe and pull the boss towards you (or not move it at all) than it is to constantly trying to angle yourself to not push the boss into a dangerous spot. The mana efficiency on warcry is pretty irrelevant with warcry's already low mana cost and even with the 2.5second total haste duration it's not *that* great of a haste enabler as it requires enemies nearby and you're stuck in the cast animation for a portion of the duration. the mana efficiency node on eterra's blessing isn't good. you're essentially gaining just over 3 attunement worth of mana efficiency for each point invested in the node compared to say, the 15 points of attunement worth of mana efficiency you get on warcry's mana efficiency node. Also a point invested into the "swift recovery" node is heavily advised in higher corr as the ability to pick your scorpion up at full health from a distance is invaluable in the event it does go down. honestly the primal aspects points are more for aspect of the boar than aspect of the viper. Aspect of the viper tends to stay up nigh on 100% of the time anyway, but aspect of the boar has patchy uptime on most bosses due to neither us or them doing that many melee attacks actually these days there is a very good prefix for us on weapons: the mana and mana regen prefix. It's SUCH a good quality of life to have, especially on 2h weapons. Due to the introduction of citadel greaves i value it over less bonus damage taken on crits on 2h weapons as it's much easier to get capped less bonus damage taken from crits on armor than it was and it's a very efficient affix. for BIS 2h weapons you have two additional options. the first is Last Laugh, as with a high cull% it actually beats lethal concentration for bossing, which is where damage matters for the build. If you want to farm echos fast then the BIS is actually a battlemage's endeavour for its unique movespeed modifier. Kinda cursed slams but we do what we must. the numlock autocast trick (secondary bind nova to a numpad number then turn off numlock while holding down the key) or just holding down nova perpetually is a very convenient way to handle the nova casts. makes it much easier to control the build.
Appreciate the feedback! I've had alot of fun playing it and honestly look forward to using this as my starter for the next season, baring any really interesting changes to other stuff.
This was my favorite build this league. Cursedboy took his to nearly 900 corruption, so it's more than viable. Great build, and THANK YOU for putting progression into the tools link! Only think missing I'd recommend is the best leveling method. If I recall we can switch over to scorpion at 28 or so and we have to queue the points for Swipe when we can switch over.
I haven't really considered doing any leveling portions into this video series, but maybe it's something I should look into. I did plan to do one with this down the line though because I'm likely to use this as my league starter for next cycle baring a new skill or interesting changes to shaman.
The ability just isn't worth it. Our damage is meaningless so the only perk we can get from it is novas on lunge which can only cast up to 2 times in 12 seconds, meaning that half the time we can't do anything with it, and would honestly just rather cast another etteras blessing instead of using it.
