There's a couple of new rules - such as turning your headlights off for oncoming trains - but there are also 4 different difficulty levels as well as the more forgiving Free Mode. The triangle button is now used to acknowledge speed limit changes and other things - in Japan, drivers will point at signals and verbally acknowledge what they're saying as this supposedly keeps them more alert. In the arcade you actually point at a touch screen to do this, but on the PS4 you just press triangle. But yes! I really enjoy this version, the graphics and sound design (especially in 5.1) really help with the immersion!
Japanese people are mainly inspired by these genres of music: - British rock/pop/electronic stuff (DnB especially) - So-called "black music" (mainly Jazz and a bit of Hip hop, but RnB was huge in the '90s) - Continental European baroque/classical - Brasilian stuff because, you know, immigrants. Try to find Japanese VGM not touching those. Nearly impossible!
If you want more JP "menu music", you have to look for fusion-y stuff with techno vibes, lounge, soft jazz and bossa nova. You'll hear the connections.
Why is this only on PS4??? This needs to come to Steam, and not just in Japan. There are so many people in other countries who would love to play a game like this.
Imported this from Japan. I love this game. i use Google translate as its all in Japanese. Have played all Densha De go on Ps2 and PS3. Now PS4 it looks and plays fantastic.
I wish they would release this on PC. AFAIK that game came from the arcade 2017 version, which is using the Unreal Engine, so a port shouldn't be too difficult.
@Behemoth While I do think more Japanese rail sims should be available to Western markets, Densha de Go is still an arcade game at heart, Dovetail's games are more about the realism. The more the merrier!
I'm a huge fan of DDG game series and I must say that's very impressive. The game has got so much better over time. Too bad I'm still gonna play DDG Final as I don't own a PS4 :")
I think Densha de GO! needs to be on the Steam Store, and have DLC for different routes and trains, including routes on the New York Metro, Washington D.C. Metro, London Underground, London Overground, London trams, Amsterdam tram and subway networks, etc. with modding ability. I _know_ somebody will make a Los Santos metro system mod, an Animal crossing mod, maybe a Cyberpunk 2077 mod, and probably even a Factorio train mod...
If you only want the announcements, get the real ones from youtube. The Japanese announcements in the game sound authentic, but the English ones are terrible.
Unfortunately not - there's the entire Yamanote Line, and the bits of the Keihin-Tohoku, Ueno-Tokyo, and Chuo-Sobu lines that are within the Yamanote ring.
@@Orforio Ahh that’s kind of a shame, I’d like to see more variety in the environments. Still looks very fun though, I’m looking forward to the switch release! Thanks for the video and response ^^
Looks like I’ll have to get this one now. Seems quite a bit more complicated though.

I’d watch u review this to be honest. Big fan of yours.
It has VR as well! Seriously thinking about it :) Great review video by the way, got me looking at either Plug and Play like yours or this and VR
Why do so many japanese games have this type of music? I loved Gran Turismo 3 because of the music. Funky and upbeat
Yeah, some of the best soundtracks in game comes from these different japanese games.

It's on the Switch as well
Same as in The Idolmaster, we are too many gaijins willing to pay for playing Densha de Go. So shameful.
Because this game is licensed from JR, Taito cannot publish an overseas version.

it works only with VR !?!?
This looks so cool but after 12 min I got sleepy from the rain lol.
I love how all the graphics change per train, lovely little detail xD
So did you try the trains in tokyo?
me: yes!
Do you have any pictures of your journey?
me: yes!
Can I see?
me: sure! * shows the game *
.....
8:40 (and elsewhere) everyone's looking on his/her mobile phone
It's incredibly realistic!
36:31 Over run!

True, but I'm not sure the Japanese PC gaming market is big enough for such a niche game. You never know though!

@Behemoth No chance for an English release. JR is very bitchy with their licensing.

idk why, but my friend always stare at menu screen when playing at rent
Densha de go 👍

Densha de go only focus on japan
Huh, and add metro Moscow and St. Petersburg😅
Feel like buying this game only to rip the station announcements... te2do is mad expensive.

I live in Japan for me you should go to Japan it’s good
0:34-1:36😚😚
Did anyone know if a English translation is coming?
No news on one so far, sorry!
@@Orforio did they have a social media accoumt?
@@germanball6671 The official website with social media links is here: www.jp.square-enix.com/denshadego/

@Antidote there are different games with different lines. This one is just specifically yamanote line
Does it necesserly needs VR or can I just use my regular TV?
VR is just a bonus mode, the main game modes are non-VR. Everything in this video is non-VR.
@@Orforio thank you very much for quick response! Have a nice day!
Wait, this is released on PS4? I though it is arcade only.
This is the home port of that arcade version. The PS4 version came out December 2020, Switch is coming in 2021.
@@Orforio Nice. Wish it came to PC as well.
where you can buy it?
I got my copy from nin-nin-game
does it have a auto save?
Yes, there's no manual saving.
What is the cutesy girl’s voice telling you? She’s a little annoying lol
Most of the time confirming how many stars you got for the speed traps/speed limit changes. I think you can turn her off!
