I used to go offshore fishing. Get beat up all day long and very $$$$. I sold my Maco and bought a Carolina Skiff. I catch plenty of fish up in the river in 2' of brackish water. Still good eating, A lot more relaxing , A whole lot cheaper and I'm not beat up from the ride at the end of the day.

80 me out is pretty crazy to just be catching triggerfish but I will say that there are some of the hardest fighting fish pound-for-pound that I've ever caught and they make the best fish tacos ever
Triggers can be absolutely obnoxious. They love to get snagged and have to be pretty large to keep iirc. Also don't mean to rod shame bit if you're going for grouper you might want a bigger pole.
They taste great like crab... but the bastards are just about Bulletproof to get into! 😂
You have to fillet from there butthole and work your way around. Trigger piccata is my go to with them.
