What a masterpiece... As a 20-year-old who discovered Mr. MacDermot just a few months ago, it saddens me that I don't have the chance to meet him in real life from now on.
I happened upon Galt MacDermot due to singing the intro of Busta Rhymes' 'Woo-haa!' to my daughter one day in that daft pseudo-out-of-time voice and we laughed at the wonky tinkly piano sound and found that it was a sample from MacDermot's Space and then I just decided to listen to more and more and more material. This version of R.O.B.M.E. is my fave track even tho there is so much more to love. I think I listened to it about 6 hours on loop one day and I really was somewhere else. My mind and soul cocooned away from my body and my body left to it's own devices doing the mundane chores of life as my mind and soul swam in the beauty of this track.
