I can't believe Linda hit her every day. That's not okay. I am glad she got caught red-handed. I am so glad Tara's dad took his daughter and left the house for good. The lesson of the story is never put your hand on a child that ain't yours and don't be abusive or there will be consequences. A child's life must be protected at all times. Be very attentive to the signs.

Someone would lose some hands if they laid them on my child! That girl’s entire face was bruised. Leaving for sure, but trust me when I say the police would be involved and charges pressed. It’s not ok to beat on someone because you are in a position of power. It’s never ok to lay your hands on a child!

The lesson? If you're a single parent or divorced parent and you've got a young child, be very very careful who you date or marry the second time around. I would even suggest installing cameras in every part of your home, so u can monitor the interaction between your kid and your date or your spouse. And if something happens, you can hand this over to authorities because it's evidence. Here, unfortunately, it's only that the dad eavesdropped on his spouse's telephone conversation with her buddy and sometimes that's not enough evidence. And, he did ask his daughter about what was happening, but could be easily twisted and denied. So I would think that adding cameras to every part of your house is the best way to catch them in the act. This includes, spouses, boyfriends/girlfriends, babysitters, nannies etc..

It's even sadder when the child has special needs, and the abuse is done by the step mother and the father. I don't have any children, but I have been blessed with two nephew's and two niece's. Children are the most precious in this world. They deserve love by two caring parents. Even by a step parent.

Mistreating A. Children Is Never A Good Idea.
I wish my Dad had protected me from my step-monster. She was abusive, manipulative, hateful, mean, and hurtful. She hated me and said she was jealous of my relationship with my Dad. I mean, really?! They are STILL together and I cant even talk to my dad without her being on the phone at the same time. She gaslit me and lied through her teeth. She even kicked me out at the age of 17 and threw all of my stuff (except the things she kept) out on the lawn. Then she beat me up (for the umpteenth time). I love my Dad so much but it made me stay away. I'm 39 years old and just recently worked through it all, as much as I possibly can. This all started at the age of 8... If I'm honest, it STILL hurts me in residual ways. I don't know why my Dad didn't love me enough to protect me. Even he says that I'm making some of these things up! I just don't understand it and I NEVER will! All I got out of it was learning how NOT to treat my children. I still deal with food insecurities, paranoia, emotional issues, intimacy issues, sadness, and feelings of dread when I have to talk to my Dad with her being the gatekeeper. It will always make me feel less than to my father. When do those issues and feelings go away? :(

Okay, you shouldn't be beating and maltreating kids, like why would you beat a child because she did not want to go outside. Me as a Nigerian Canadian I would not beat this child because she is so innocent, smart and well trained, she also listens too unlike some of these other kids. My stepmother would have done this to me had I lived with her and my father. I visited my dad when I was 19 years old. His wife was horrible to me as well as her kids. I went for one more visit with a college school mate as a buffer. After that I said never again. It is sad that sorry, irresponsible, pathetic mean allow their new wives to treat their children badly. They totally act like they don't know, see, or understand what is going on. I call it being blinded by lust while destroying a relationship with their biological kids. When I grew up I knew my father was never the man I thought him to be. He is deceased now and I have forgiven him.
