not really when you watch it if you don't know anything about the show. you know, it's a common thing with trailers, if you watch them after watching the film you will think that they put you in front of the plot and such. But in reallity, if you don't over analyze it, it's fine. but yeah, don't over analyze it, i plan to show it to some friends just to show them it's not some random generic badly filmed sy fy product.

The visuals were kind of what created the whole "WTF" moment. Absolutely stunning work nonetheless, though! I think this is the best Expanse trailer there is right now. :)

I just watched the expanse season 1 and 2, it's a damn good series that deserves to be placed with other great series like Babylon 5 and Battlestar Galactica Reboot. This show easily should have been given the Saturn award for best Scifi series of 2018 but instead awarded to the Star Trek copycat series Orville. While Trek fans fight over Star Trek Discovery and Orville, l'll be watching the expanse which by far better than both Discovery and Orville combined.
I never liked BSG, I did like Babylon 5 until the last season. I do love the Orville as it tickles my Star Trek itch that Discovery fails to. The Expanse on the other hand is something incredibly special. Such a damn amazing show. And its well on its way to be my favorite sci-fi show of all time.
Compared with all other official Trailers, this one really convinces. When I showed my friends the official one it was ah "meh... okay, maybe I will watch it." And with this one it was "Cool, where can I watch this?" :D
This brought tears to my eyes. Thanks to everyone who worked on this trailer, everyone who tweeted and shared and donated time and money to the campaign and cajoled their friends into watching and last but not least, the exceptional cast and crew of The Expanse. Can't wait for season 4!
FYI, if you ever do a second version, the only real thing I’d add are a few shots of Martians and maybe an additional action shot (I’m thinking the Mars season 2 intro or scenes from the Donnager)

This was a great trailer, I only got into this amazing show recently so I was lucky enough to be able to binge watch all 3 seasons over a week and just finished a few days ago. I love the extended version of the theme used here and I cant wait for season 4.
I actually think binging hurts the experience, nearly period, since every episode is treated as a little work of film part on its own, an episode, with its own plot, foreshadowing, and pace. Seasons even more so. That's why, in my eyes, there is nothing better than starting with a weekly airing show, because that way I can take that time, enjoy the collective puzzling and actually process more details. Starting later makes the temptation bigger to just binge, but this isn't a Netflix show meant for that, for mere sideway entertainment. Though nowadays I've became pretty good in that. Have just watched one episode of season 4 and will be finished in January. I guess that's not so conformist, but it's something I'd definitely recommend other people to do even though the industry and fast-paced society doesn't want you to. Sorry for that intrusive comment. The topic just really gets to me.
When you step back and look at broadly, it almost feels like Stellaris the TV show. Or maybe that's just me expressing my hopes that the story continues to expand drastically in scope for the next few seasons.

However, this incredible show is so much more than the action sequences. I wish there was a way to convey some of the wonderful acting performances by Thomas Jane and Jared Harris in a 3 minute video.
I would probably have not even noticed this series if it would have not been for the fans. Glad I found it too, great series. If only streaming services were around to bail out Firefly back in the day...that was an awesome show as well.
