Not many singers can do Lauryn Hill Justice and since I'm such a big fan of Mrs. Hill, it takes a lot to impress me when a singer attempts to sing any of her songs. Lee Hi. Where to start.I actually liked her rendition although her voice wasn't mixed enough to capture the full essence of this song. She will get there. When she hit those lower notes in the beginning it had me confused at first because I thought it was Lauryn. That shows Lee Hi can change her beautiful nasal tone to a warm tone.
Good girl!!!~ A Lauren Hill rendition! She sounds AMAZING. There is NOTHING wrong with this at all. There is a bright future for her and her talent. Way to go!~
1- Her English is PERFECT ( which is very rare to see in Korea _ she doesnt even speak the language and she is FREAKING 15/16 2- SHE NAILED IT , EVERY SINGLE NOTE , EVERY SINGLE EMOTION , 3- Her Voice MATCHED 100% with the SONG plus she made it her OWN 4- SHE ENJOYED IT AND WE ENJOYED IT 5- THIS IS THE BEST COVER I HEARED for this song 6- JYP GO TO HELL this way ------>>
simon and martina (look them up on youtube) was her English teacher (can't remember which of the two it was but it was one of them) and they did a pretty darn good job teaching her and her class english She's actually not fluent in english, but she was taught good pronunciation of words
she's now only 16...she was 15 at the time of this performance...isn't that crazy?? such an amazing voice and it's only going to get better from here O_O
I love CL's version of killing me softly more. CL - RNB way of singing. Lee Hi sexy high pitched voice. But precious Lee Hi you're so good too. I'm so proud. YG Family fighting! ^^
I love how she changed through the competition. If you watch her in the first episodes, her facial expressions were almost zero :D I think that she chaged a lot when she sang Mercy and got better and better in time
Please do lol. Sometimes I feel that he has a higher standard for Hayi when it comes to judging. Jimin's performance was great as well but it still lacks emotion and she was pitchy at parts. I don't get why JYP critiques the hell out of Hayi but let those things go with Jimin. It's so frustrating! lol I knew she would kill this song since the beginning and i'm glad they finally chose it!!! It was also my favorite out of her 2 performances :)

I really hope YG contracts Ex-Big Mama member Lee Young Hyun to come in as her vocal coach! That would be perfect! Because they have almost the exact voice type-deep and soulful. And Lee Young is a superb, mature experienced vocalist! Shed seriously be the PERFECT vocal coach for Lee Hi! Especially on how to do runs and riffs well, cause I can hear from this perf Lee Hi has definately got the voice to execute them! Shes a bit tentative tho! Anyhu, excellent singer! Absolutely love this chick!
She have a incredible voice...nicely done...I don't know how JYP judge but they got issues....you know I think korean people go for the physical look more than the talent....not just korean people...majority of people do...but korean people make it so obvious...sorry i'm stereotyping here...but at times that's what i see in korean cultures...you got to be pretty to perform..which i don't see that as a right thing to do...what do you guys think?
