My stepmom was always very nice to me (because she was replacing my mom lol) so down to the store we went at my request, on a pure hunch that there's gotta be a street fighter game down there at toys'r'us. They used to have a big wall with all the covers inbedded into it. We looked for a while and my older brother looked too, and the guy that worked there went to the back to look. Nothing. I guess my pupil got really small like a neuromancer implant and before they dragged me out of the store, i locked my little eyeballs on it and was able to take home my ps2 street fighter game, it had a blue cd disk and for a few months my ps2 wouldn't even boot it anymore lol. Garuda! Skullomania! Duran Meister! Sharon! Ace! Hokuto! Nanase! This was one of the first 7 games I got with my PS2. Still really fun, if not a tad easy.
This is the only game I'm aware of that got the opposite fate of CASTLEVANIA 2: SIMON'S QUEST where a viral internet video completely changed the discussion around a game to the positive.
