I will say, Line 8 also goes to Rose Quarter TC where riders can connect to Line 77 or any MAX Line other than the Yellow Line to get to Hollywood Transit Center. The need to take 8, 9, and 75 in that order would only be needed for someone to make a stop along somewhere on Powell and/or Cesar Chavez where Line 66 currently runs.

When you said Trimet took up your idea i was like "Wait what?" because my brain was being a little too exact and thought they'd done it by extending 25 to serve all of Glisan EXACTLY like you said in your original draft video, but indtead it looks like they extended 19 to replace 25 (which is pretty much the same thing and might even be better if 19 is any more frequent of a line than 25 is/was).

    • @trimet101
      @trimet101  Год назад +2

What's cool is that no matter what, all of Glisan would get consistent 30-ish min frequency. It seems like something that should have been done years ago. Exciting to see

So i will say, for line 95 the main benefit is it being able to serve people on that road specifically (especially between Stark and Division where the farthest point from the 2 streets currently puts people with no access to service (I will probably expand on this in a second because i need to go somewhere).

Well, it's not getting completely canceled, just reworked. Main/Baseline gets the 120, Century gets the 115, and Evergreen gets the 111. Although to be fair, it won't be possible to access Evergreen from downtown Hillsboro, and instead you must use Willow Creek (or Orenco and take the 115 to Evergreen)

After Trimet extends the Red Line from Beaverton TC to Hillsboro Fairgrounds, We have notice that Railroad Crossings are No Longer going to be working at a Busy Street. Vehicles will get Frustrated & the Worst Intersections is 185th @ Baseline & SE Portland on 12th @ Clinton are both Challenging Crossings. Eliminating Railroad Crossings will definitely be needed for 185th, Baseline, Cedar Hills, Hall & Lombard. Railroad Crossings will activate Every One, Two & Three Minutes with Red Line Extension, existing of Blue Line. Light Rail is a Frequent Service then Freight Trains that don’t run very often in the Area on TV Highway. Grade Separation Project/ Level Crossing Removal will be happening & to start with 185th. After Better Red Project, Eliminating Railroad Crossings will be the next step. Light Rail needs to flyover or go underneath the Street Instead. It’s No Good to have At Grade Railroad Crossings on a Busy Street. Washington County is saving up the money for Grade Separation Project. Construction is expected to start in 2025 on 185th.

I don't want to sound mean, but you probably don't have to comment this on every video. I am very aware that the intersections will get trains at twice today's frequency. But, I don't think it's top priority at this moment. I understand why 185th was chosen first because it will eventually carry an updated "frequent service" 52. It would be nice if it weren't always stuck at the rail crossing. I'm not sure Clinton/SE 12th needs it for now as the trains would still be running every 15 min. Ideally, we would have just built it entirely grade separated from day one so we wouldn't have to deal with fixing it later. I can't wait for the day MAX is running under Downtown Portland. That is the grade separation we desperately need

I like that they brought back the 42 to cover the former 45 line, I just wish they extended it to Tigard TC via 121st like the 45 does.
I like that the 7 will use the Sellwood bridge, I just wish that a line starting on the Westside (probably Tigard TC, or Barbur TC) went over the Sellwood bridge, I feel like that bridge is underutilized given its strategic location.
The 35 is interesting, I didn't even consider rerouting it to Lewis and Clark, but having looked at the route I don't see why they don't just have it solely run to the college because when I look at that segment of S Macadam Ave/S Riverside Dr there is literally nothing but a small neighborhood of multi million dollar riverfront homes along that stretch, no businesses or anything. the 35 should just go to the college in my opinion.
I always thought it was weird how underutilized the Tigard TC is, only half the bus bays have routes starting or ending there, so I am happy Tigard is getting more busses there as well, also I share your pain about the Barbur TC, though I'm not okay with the 44 skipping it in the future.
Regarding the 76 I believe I saw them explaining the segment to Oregon City as them wanting to help people get through the Tolling ODOT plans to implement on the 205. I submitted feedback on the first round of comments that the 76 should stop and serve that little strip of commercial on Willamette Falls Dr that the 154 used to serve in West Linn, so that that spot doesn't loose service but they didn't change the map to reflect that. I also am super in favor of it going to Oregon City, now I can one seat ride all the way into Downtown Oregon City and transfer to go further into Clackamas County!
I think they should combine the 130 and 131 to make a big loop line because I don't have faith the 131 will gain many riders just because of the extension, Trimet explained that a big reason they moved the 76 is because they weren't getting a lot of ridership on that segment after the Tigard library into Tualatin.
They seriously need to purchase some land for a new St. Johns TC
The reason they put the 45 on 5th street is because they want to serve the industrial area the 53 currently serves if it runs on Allen Blvd it will completely miss Arctic Dr. and they changed the rest of the 45 route to match the No build bus redesign that they came up with for when they planned the Southwest Corridor.
Part of the SW Corridor plan was to make Naito Parkway more pedestrian and bike friendly near the Gibbs street station. so once that gets built the corbett avenue neighborhood should have no problem getting to and from Downtown. They also mention multiple times a Ross Island Bridgehead project that would be built in conjunction to the MAX line project so maybe that has pedestrian and bike improvements in it as well. I don't know for sure I didn't check out the PBOT page on it.
Oh boy! I gave them hell for changing the 78 to no longer serve PCC, I imagine they cooked up the weird 44 branch to Tigard TC because of that. I get the Feeling they really want the 78 to serve Bonita so I proposed that they extend the line 8 from OHSU down Terwilliger, Capitol Highway(Ida B Wells HS, Hillsdale), Vermont, 45th Ave(Gabriel Park), Multnomah Blvd(Multnomah), 35th Ave, Dolpch Ct, 30th Ave, Barbur Blvd(Barbur TC), Capitol Highway(PCC Sylvania), Crossing over I-5 on Haines St, 72nd Ave, hunziker, Tigard TC. I just think that if the 52 is getting frequent service to PCC Rock Creek than they should Give PCC Sylvania frequent service as well.
The 95 absolutely should exist. A big part of this plan was to introduce more North/South Routes. also the line 73 and 74 are both more than 10 blocks away from 148th, that's a fuckin long way to walk dude. I think they should extend it so that it ends at the Parkrose/Sumner TC, because it just kinda dies on Airpot way.
Oooh, if they extended the 131 to PCC they should extend it to Barbur TC as well!
There is a Gray Dot on Powell Blvd where 182nd Ave meets Powell which has the 9 pass through and the current 74, 82, 87 end at, with the extended 98 and 150 proposed to end there as well. They should make that the new Powell TC.
Great video man, I am super excited for this new plan as it is currently proposed, though fortunately I don't think they are finished tweaking it.

Lots of good ideas here! After thinking about it, yeah it is weird that the Sellwood Bridge doesn't get a bus from the westside. I wonder if there's a way to serve Barbur TC, Lake Oswego TC, and Tacoma P&R with one line. After looking at a map, maybe Spring Garden, Terwilliger, Boones Ferry, Country Club and Macadam? That might be too redundant with the 78 though. Maybe, just from Barbur TC to Tacoma P&R makes more sense.
It's also weird that PCC would get frequent service to each campus (I believe) except Sylvania. Your line 8 extension idea isn't bad. Maybe it would be a good idea to increase the 44 to frequent service (at least the Capitol Hwy portion) if line 8 were to remain unchanged.
But, yeah in general I see lots of improvements since the draft, and I'm glad Trimet is offering comment periods on things like this. It's nice to get everyone's unique perspective on it. After all, we're the ones that will use it, so let's get it right. I'm excited to see how it goes

@@trimet101 I Think 2 routes would be better over the Sellwood Bridge. Keep the line 36 and extend it along one of the proposed 35 branches (I think the college route would be best) then over the Sellwood Bridge, down Tacoma, then down 17th until ending at Downtown Milwaukee. The other one would start at Tigard TC and head all the way down Barbur meeting with the Barbur TC and continuing until it meets SW 26th Ave (or continuing and going down 19th or Terwilliger) and going down that until it meets Taylor's Ferry and taking that to Macadam and going over the Sellwood Bridge, down Tacoma and 17th with the 36 to Downtown Milwaukee. Those are my ideas. I think it would be really cool to be able to take one bus to Oaks park in the Summer. Perhaps there isn't a lot of demand for routes like these in the first place so maybe they should start out by running every 30 minutes every day and we'll see how it goes.

Are you going to film Railroad Crossings on 185th@ Baseline Intersections? However it’s not going to last very long. We will be getting rid of Railroad Crossings & Reconstruct to a Light Rail Bridge after Red Line Extension. Not good for Time Travels on 185th of Line 52.
