The same reason why men aren’t teaching their sons to respect natural hair. Shit they low key hate their own hair and shave it off. Damn near no maintenance and we’re calling them cute for it🗿
All the comments that made me hate myself were coming from young black boys trying to impress their friends
Fitting is lame but I swear it protects your mental health. I learned the hard way by being called ugly, posting pics of me on FB for them to call me nappy headed and fat, including me in a discussion I never asked about, just to say they don’t to be with me; putting their hands on me and calling me manly as an excuse. And then in the same breath, complements me when nobody is around, or, be nice when I have weave in (or new clothes).
Most black girls just made me a spectacle. Wearing my patience down to a nib by calling me a black white girl, weird for liking books and comics, called me BRAVE for wearing my natural hair..yet trying to play in it and say it could never be them. Very backhanded and shady
That’s the school environment for a black girl without loose curls or a perm. Even then they’ll catch strays for it not being long enough or healthy (due to freaking chemical damage)

It won’t even damage your natural hair. There’s so many benefits, just wearing a wig.

They have been warned for all the school violations, yet they still come to school in violation and unprepared for classroom lessons. Our principal is not having it. When they violate they will not be permitted back into the classroom until the parents came and meet with the principal/AP’s. It’s just a distraction from what they’re going to school for and that’s an education.
And technically, her wedding is the last time she can go all out for her special day/event. Should she make sure she’s well dressed, have her hair done, and her nails done? ABSOLUTELY! I wore acrylic nails in high school from my freshman year through graduation in the mid to late nineties so I have nothing against them. But I also had a backpack, notebook, paper, pens and pencils for the first day at the very least so I was ready to learn because ultimately that’s what school is all about. As lovely as this young lady looks, she doesn’t even have enough room in her purse for a notebook and a pen so she can write down what she needs for the rest of the year. All the preparation was done for her physical looks, not her mental, emotional or spiritual needs to be ready for the school year. And I know it’s just a small glimpse into her preparing for her first day. But I think that should be included if it was done as well. I would want people to see that as well.
