Neat little thing I have one and these are soo much fun and such a gokart type feel that newer cars just dont have if you have few bucks to spend these things make great little autocross racers 4 wheel indpendent suspension 1700lbs and as these cars are basicly fiats performance parts are easly found..

I'm not planning on racing or modding mine in any way for the moment. Currently I plan on just making it run well enough to daily - I have a parts car I'll be trying to do a series on parting out. That engine runs but has no carb, so I was thinking of rebuilding it with some speedy-ish parts, most notably fuel injection. Both of them have factory air conditioning.

@@AiOinc1 From late 1988 higher trim cars had bosch multi point fuel injection and it is a great system but its kinda of a hassle to get everything working right so many people swap it for double barrel webers which with a nice exhaust setup make these cars keep up with traffic rather well.. These cars shouldnt be modified if daily driven as engines themselves dont last long and daily driving a car like this on american highways is quite a challange as 60-65mph is a happy place for carb versions anything over that your pushing it quite hard.. Really cool to see someone actually caring about this gem of a car wish you the best of luck with the project!

@@rikidiki8940 The fuel injected cars appeared in 1991 as the GVplus, not in 1988. It was a DMB 1300 with Bosch Motronic 3.
I don't plan to go much over 60 in this car as it is - This won't be an interestate car by any means. I have two Cadillacs for that. This will be more along the lines of a grocery getter.
2 miles to work, 10 miles to school, 6 miles to the parts store, 3 miles to grocery stores. I doubt that this car will see speeds much over 55 in the time I have it.
Hopefully by the time engine is finally worn out, I will have the other engine rebuilt and set up with fuel injection to drop in - at which point I can begin rebuilding the old engine as well. I plan to keep this car for as long as the frame is solid.
