Been watching loads of rafting and kayak runs on all sorts of crazy water since enjoying our rafting experience down the Chattoga River with NOC a few weekends ago. We were ready after that beginner run, plus another beginner run trip at another location years ago to start thinking about taking it up a notch. Our NOC guide actually does the Tallulah Gorge Event and is a good friend of mine JJ, and why your awesome video caught my attention.. After watching your video with these crazy turnovers and a few that didn't end well in another video, I am really second guessing taking it up a notch. LoL
Woohoo! I've done 4 of the 8 rivers listed. Ocoee, Gauley, Chattooga, and Chattahoochee. I recognized some of the locations. Just gave me an idea of 4 other rivers to raft. Great stuff.
Where the hell is that rock slide??? My god that looks dangerous! Gauley River, 2003ish, Sweet’s Falls - boat folded in half, all three of us on the right sucked out, guide ended up on his ass in the middle of the raft. Dude up front and me in the back both went under the raft and down river. My mom, in between us, got sucked into the hydraulic as my wife and dad watched helplessly. 3 rafts came over Sweet’s before anyone saw my mom again. Everyone not in the water completely freaking out. She popped out eventually, beat up but alive. Dad and my wife were absolutely not ok after that. The guide was completely gutted after that, and imo never really composed after that. I had no idea any of it was happening until I got back in the boat. We own the vhs of the incident, and it’s horrible to watch, even after the fact knowing my mom is ok.
Wow I just started watching several videos of rafts and kayaks doing some incredible runs all around the world after enjoying the beginning section of the Chattoga River with NOC a few weekends ago. Our rafting experience was awesome and got us thinking that we were ready to go to the next level. Watching some of these turnovers makes me somewhat rethink that decision. Glad everyone was OK.
Haha, no, none of these people died. The only ones that had any injuries whatsoever were the ones in the clips at 2:50 and 4:00, and these injuries were minor.
A bit disturbing to see how many humans so easily put their very life at risk for a few seconds of ''fun''. Can't imagine what would happen if someone got caught and pinned under those waves...
Great work! I used to have a set but I've grown older and I think that my "set" would float like two corks. "The older I get the better I was".

How many idiots can you fit in a raft? Answer: "All of them!" Fun film ;-)

Geeze these are some pretty scary holes
Tourists getting knocked around! Looks like they are really enjoying themselves.
You guys n gals are just plain nuts
are these all kinda trained ones? coz these look insanely dangerous to the newbies
Most of the rapids in this video flush the swimmers out instead of recirculating them. They only recirculate things that float on the top current.
Look fun af
looks like where they filmed Deliverance
Part of it was the river they filmed Deliverance on, the Chattooga.
just saw the run of pillow lets link up and boat new or gauley come to the Upper Yough
Yea, we usually come up there for Gauley Fest. Hopefully we will see up there.
Now THIS, is a sport!
How many survived that vs how many didn't? I went rafting once in my life. Never again.
In this video everyone definitely survived
wow - too much power for me. not worth losing your life for. i'll stick to class III and respect the water
What is class lll ? Rafting in normal waters
Wow freaking Wow!!
Looks amazing 😍
because our heads are not where our feet are
2:01 what a cluster!
Amazing vid!, thank you!!
Wow just!!!
Is the fall at 0:57 natural? Looks like natures own water slide.
Ylis Vauhdis yep. That's Oceana on the Tallulah River in NE Georgia.
Where is it, pls?
you come to the gauley?? lets boat sometime
Love it great carnage
Holy sheeeeeet😮
So the raft that flips the most wins?
Water has never looked so painful
HOLY. SHIT.
This is fun!
NOT
Most of those gotta be class 4. Not for newbies. Which I’m getting interested in lol.
Gee, that looks super fun 🙄
Nice edit
How many dead?
Great vid. Whats the song starting around 3:05 in the video that starts just after that harsh rescue attempt?
The song is "Bottom of the River" by Delta Rae.
+Gnarnivores thank you.
river at 0:59?
+[YourName] It's the Tallulah River in Georgia.
The title of the video should be "Why do we WALLACE!!!"
Love the story behind that!
Is this on the Ocoee River? Georgia? Tennessee? Looks deadly to me
What’s the rapid at 1:00
Oceana on the Tallulah River in Georgia
Gnarnivores thanks! Love the carnage keep it up👍👍
epic!
I'll take my chances with a K1.
Was Oceana the Deliverance rapid? Footage is nuts
No, but it is close to the area where Deliverance was filmed. Yeah, Oceana is insane.
Some of those hydraulics are killers and should not be paddled by anyone. Whats the point?
These mattresses are not adapted absolutely not for rafting!
Catamaran this best means for rafting!
I need to understand.
Are these videos, amatures out of their depths? or just maniacs who wants to put themself in tought spots for the giggles?
4:15 this dude went diving
And the tiny ship was tossed.
A thousand ways to die... (1 through 400)
Be safe ;)
Yup I’d rather walk thanks
Hahaha Amazing
My dont that look fun
Are any of these people dead? They must be... Can companies rent rafts to beginners who feel like trying class V rapids?
Haha, no, none of these people died. The only ones that had any injuries whatsoever were the ones in the clips at 2:50 and 4:00, and these injuries were minor.
Were any of these rapids Cl V?
The only Class V in the video is Oceana on the Tallulah River at 0:58 and 2:38.
Oceana looks *relatively* benign if you avoid pitoning the rock on river center-right most way down.
Oceana, to this day, is one rapid I would never run, even when I was at my best. Looks horrific if you get it wrong!
Revenge of the tiny raft.
Six flags over neoprene!!!
paddle rafts are way to light oar frame it and put some weight and momentum behind it
come out and get some experience
Hahahaa nice....
I like....
👍
Funny
There has to be a better design than these helium corks!
And this is supposed to be fun????? B.S.
A bit disturbing to see how many humans so easily put their very life at risk for a few seconds of ''fun''. Can't imagine what would happen if someone got caught and pinned under those waves...
it has happens and its a chance you take
Looks like fun?
