This story was top notch in almost every single way, however the only major issue I have is Reverse Flash being in it. Unfortunately it’s never explained how and more importantly why would he appear and be trapped in this timeline in the first place, and how was Martha, a normal human being without any superpowers or even fighting prowess, able to kill a speedster powerhouse such as Eobard Thawne ?
The problem with reading DC Comics is that none of it will matter in a few months because they keep hitting the reset button as soon as an event has run its course. It's the worst retcon device in comic book history.
I love how Geoff Johns is just sorta continuing everything he set up in rebirth regardless of what is happening in the DC universe. It is the only path in DC comics I find myself actually interested in.

I could see Thomas going the way of Batman Beyond where he becomes the man in the chair while Robin gets upgraded to Batman.
