Did anyone else notice they announce in this she will be playing Evita?! This is from 1990 - I was always under the impression that around Bedtime Stories' recording, she was STILL fighting for the role... that was around 1994... Evita was released in 1996....I know she wanted the role from day one, but this is fascinating to me because it is announced here as fact when I don't believe she was anywhere near having the role locked down. If I recall, her famous hand-written, multi-page letter to the director a few years later is what convinced him... super interesting! Thanks for sharing this clip - one of the few I haven't seen :)

I never knew this piece of Evita/M history :)
She's a great singer for what she does. You can't define a great singer by what octave range they have. With her voice, Madonna became the best selling female recording artist of all time, recognized by the Guinness Book Of World Records. So yea.
