The Light Behind Our Eyes: Melody Walker on Abenaki Identity

A featured instructor for "Presenting Abenaki Culture in the Classroom", Abenaki historian Melody Walker briefly speaks to her experience in how participating in the ECHO Leahy Center for Lake Champlain enabled her to showcase her Abenaki identity to the larger audience. Cultures change in how they outwardly express themselves.

As a filmmaker, I greatly enjoy interviewing Native American artists and culture bearers in order to preserve my tribe's culture, as well as provide help to link interested tribal members with the general public.
