Loved this game and was honestly sad when it was suddenly canceled. From what I recall, the dev was close to implementing proper house models, textures, and better town details, etc. Unfortunately the game was canceled before any of that was added. I still hope the dev might some day come back to the game, or for someone else to pick it up, or create something very similar set during the time period of the book.

It is always nice to see people coming back to this game. I am the guy who composed all the music heard in-game, and the tracks were composed specifically for this project, so you should have absolutely no issues with copyright on the music :)

In version 0.3, they had an inventory system,food hunger and a gas mask. It was really hard with thwt but what made it even worse was that the tripods we’re Usain bolt and you would never survive. It was a lot more polished but awkward.
I was helping Gelato model out new bits for the game before development ceased. There were a variety of ferries and battleships for the coastal areas with on-board details to match the cosy low-poly style. As well as some churches and houses that would have been enterable. And various other bits and pieces to populate the towns and give them some charming life. Sadly none were implemented. Still great fun to play though! Had lots of potential!

kit, i just played that game and i figured out how to survive the 2-week challenge, you have to get on the ferry and (i think) hit the e button idk i hit the e button and it started going though you might have to wait for it to leave but when it does it will say you have survived the invasion

What everybody needs to understand is that the book is a hundred times more terrifying than any adaptation. A direct faithful adaption would explode the box-office. The cylinder's landing, the stormy night with the horse cart and the tripod, the first Martian attack and the great exodus, the great London panic, the back dust, the massacre of mankind, the manhunts... the madness. The sheer hopelessness as earth becomes another world, one that doesn't belong to mankind anymore...
I followed this project and I can say that the developer returned to it in the comments under the game they asked when the game was released? And he said soon. It was 1 day ago

I absolutely hate it when Devs create a project and just never finish it. You’re basically putting time and effort into creating something amazing only to just completely abandon it halfway through. I get they have their reasons, usually, but still, it’s just really sad and doesn’t seem right. Like planting a garden but never attending it.
hey Kite just so you know there is a roblox war of the worlds game called War of the worlds multiplayer survival inspired by Rafs War of the worlds game.
I believe I saw footage of them having the Tripods that could capture people as well at one point, they would even take you back to one of the spawn points as the Harvesters wouldn't leave the landing site so as long as you knew where they were you could avoid running into them.
The developer just announced he’s gonna continue the project! He would often upload dev logs about updates and stuff all the time this could be some more potential content for your channel?
