I'm also an aspiring SEO Specialist and I want to focus in this niche for the rest of my life and be very good at it. I graduated with a degree in English studies and realized that I love anything about writing. I am 24 years old, jobless, and still struggling learning SEO/Content Marketing/ and Search Ads as self-taught. My peers know none of this industry and it's hard explaining it to them. I often feel left behind by my peers because they don't get what I'm pursuing. For them, they think that it's just plain writing and a bunch of clicking and typing. I have faith in what I do, but sometimes it gets the better out of me when people ridicule my new found purpose. Looking at you, it gives me a glimmer of hope that one day I'll be as busy as a bee doing my own thing not minding external distractions. I'm 24 and I do get overwhelmed with this niche I considered foreign for me. One day, I hope to see a me where I can be one of the best SEO Specialists out there. Hahaha this is a bit funny, but it kind of makes me feel positive when I write this. I'm still so far from my goal. May the universe help me. I'm 24 and hopeful 🌻
100% agree that you learn as you grow when beginning your career. I've been interning as a project manager for the past 3 months and I have learned so much but most of my learning has come from taking on a new task that may have been uncomfortable/scary to do at the beginning but asking a lot of questions & being teachable makes the process so much easier & rewarding i feel.
I work a similar job in marketing, so I really enjoy that you actually go into detail about the work you do and what you're working on. These vlogs really help with my imposter syndrome, keep up the awesome videos!
On the note of the financial agenda, I'd love to see a financial video covering how you like to budget your paycheque! What % you put into TFSA, RRSP, emergency savings account, your thoughts on the FHSA, investment portfolio, etc etc. I'd also love to hear your thoughts on renting vs buying in your mid-late twenties.
I was always interested in marketing and it’s really delightful to be a prt of your day, thanks new here❤ If not medicine, I would have chosen marketing for sure.
wow love the conclusion part, i think it will be interesting too if you can film a video of what is the course talking about, and summarize how you use it in your daily job hahah
Awesome video! It's nice your documenting your day to day for those interested in marketing and was also wondering what education is best for a management position? I assume a major in marketing and a minor in management? Or dod you get your masters? Just wondering as I'm looking into it lol
as a college student wanting to be in marketing how would you say how it’s like trying to get into this field? what stuff do i need to know? also i hate math but is it super important? if so what type of math does marketing consist of? I’d say my issue is more algebra tbh
I am also a marketing manager at an agency. 1 thing I've heard in the marketing community a lot is newer people having imposter syndrome. Why do you feel that's so common in our field?
That's a really good question! For me personally working at a Startup, I didn't really have a mentor to guide me through my career. Although I learned a lot through trial and error and on my own, not having someone to validate your work can often put a disconnect between your experience and what you believe you can do. Yes the metrics validates whether something is working, but sometimes that isolation of not having someone to guide you or validate you can definitely make it easy to build imposter syndrome!
@angelzheng I definitely understand that the agency I joined was only 8 years old when I joined it still very knew and started by a few local guys who have a love for marketing/advertising. No big fancy HR or deep rooted company wide policies to fall back on, as for me I was always worried about looking like I didn't understand their processes and be seen as a fraud even though I'd been doing freelance advertising for years prior to joining the company
