Talladega had the loudest b-tone section but That's it SU was stinging them on every level and they were smaller but strong as he'll on every instrument. love that trumpet section and them tubas geesh!!! SU all day
Gotta give this to the Juke. I'm halfway thru it and TC lost sum juice while Southern still pushing! Song selection, all around balance, Southern never missed a beat! TC baritones tho!!!!!! Lawd!!!

nothing represents black culture within marching bands better than a HBCU band battle , there is nothing like a HBCU band battle experience , its just amazing,
Thing is, TC's band is louder but the only section that's actually POWERFUL is the baritone section. With SU, they all have power, meaning that those watts are sending across a distance, rather than being empty loudness....on top of sounding good together.

Talladega's B-tones pushing watts.
They stick out over the whole band and it makes them sound bad and so far off balance. Stop it ✋.. That does not sound good. I don't know why anyone would think it would.

A word of advice: Don't blow the same song back at Southern unless you know your arrangement is 10 times better. If you have to think about it.... don't do it!!!!!!

Southern rope them in with a familiar song. they fall in the trap and play it back, and Southern come back with a strong and powerful song putting it to shame.. smh.. the definition of Insane is repeating the same mistakes and expecting different outcomes. After all these years. You'd expect these bands to know better by now

In order to get the win over SU, you will have to smash them on every tune..So if you don't have arrangements that can compete on every level with Southern then no matter how loud you are,the crowd will always pick SU..Just being real..

Please let them know! Like I said plenty of times TC is a begging ass parade and BOTB band. Their arrangements are poo and will never be on the level of SU! Until they get a football team and they're across the 50 yard line they are mediocre. Their band is made up of damn near 30yo rejects who couldn't make it on to other bands who couldn't make cuts. Like for real some of these comments about their b-tones are smashing. Hell if that's all they have where are the other sections? Because I don't hear any of the other sections.

For most ppl information TC doesn't play with baritones anymore, they have brand new Marching euphoniums that are way bigger than a regular marching baritone that's why they are so loud, ppl wouldn't know that because, they don't know Mr. Bonds or anything about TC

SU Won this one. Talladega had the upper hand on Cranking but Can't Match up to SU. Plus TC was playing the same songs from last year. Time to upgrade TC. You Guys did good at Honda But Keep in mind your in SU area. You have to bring it or go home. One thing i wish SU could fix is the Pinching of the trumpets. Too much pinching in the High Notes instead of play it like you know it. Both Low Brass sections are really good. Tubas. Tubas are Killing it!!!! SU Tubas, Got to love the way they play. And SU Funk Factory, man all drums are in tune. Since getting those Yamaha Drums. They Sound So much better. But SU won this one this year.
TC loud but anybody can just play loud and reach for notes...heard a lot of runs that we're super soft cause everyone didn't know the notes. But improvement from last year I can say

TC went against SU Spring / Mardi Gras Marching Band. They never bring the whole band doing Mardi Gras Season. Only doing Football season will you see SU's whole band. They sound great.

This battle is like papa SU checking on his son Dega. This is all a Southern production. Just look what Southerns influence and education has created. Boom! you have Degas band. These other schools need to get with it and brand their production out of their music programs. That's what it's all about what a great institution and heritage. Louisiana should be proud.
All I know is that I liked the competitive spirit in both bands.

What tc needs to have is balance. Each section trying to over power the other it makes it sound uneven.
The b tones from Talladega was ask you heard they need more balance and they need to learn that size isn't what matters and that is what SU brings every time
I see great improvement from last year in talladega, your arrangements are on the come up and you all sounded very strong on many songs but I have to give the W to southern honestly. Although Talladega was louder, Southern's power in combination with their arrangements and fan base gives them this win.

Talladega got a nice B-tone section, sad part is that's their whole band. Rest of the band sounds weak without them. Plus the camera was closer to their side.

B-Tones: TC- but not by much they are monsters but at the 11:52 mark they embarrassed themselves....Southern B-Tones is the weakest section in they band in my opinion but still play with more balance than TC

I could care less about either one of these bands but Ima tell it like it is. This video is closer to southern vs how far it was from TC. That's a fact. If you watch the other video where the camera is closer to TC and southern is far away you would get the same effect. That's the problem with Jag fans. Y'all always think SU is the best band. When another band is louder than SU, y'all say "they don't have no musician ship" or when when a band does have musician ship, y'all say "they not louder than southern" like come on. Give respect where its due. TC is still a new band to this vs how long southern has been around and for them to go toe to toe with southern, y'all can't handle it.
Of course TC band arrangements are not up there right now, its still a new program. Plus y'all holler TC is a wannabe southern when y'all fail to realize that TC director is from southern. What did you think would happen? They still have to grow and make they own style.

Who ever thinks Dega won this battle OUT THERE FUCKEN MINDS. Yes they are loud but it's not clear. Listen to Southern then listen to Dega. Southern sounds like there on blu-ray and Dega sound like a old tape. B-tones you guys are on your shit. But yall drowning out the rest of the band. ONE BAND, ONE SOUND. Dega has 50 trumpets and I can't hear ONE. Southern won this easy. Southern and JSU clearly ahead of the rest.

Have to be honest, (S.U.) been winning so long that , bands have tried to duplicate the style but can't figure it out, some come close but it's different when you get in the ring with Them. So now bands get bigger and just blow and they come up short. When you are winning so long , people love to hate a winner. My point is S.U. deserves to boast, they have a consistent program that's disciplined and they have a great work ethic that bring in some of the best musicians . So a band have 1 or 2 songs that's bringing the heat, so that is why constitutes as a L for Su? Most of that Shit is just loud, vs su being powerful, you can feel the notes hit your face. Su band song probably chop most of the wack as bands up. Only band I respect that su faces is JSU.

SU smashed them trumpets bring out the melody in a band and Dega don't have any. All I hear is b-tones and f-horns. SU has the full package trumpets screaming. Listen to 6:58. They killed that shit. Dega you guys sound pretty good to but to compete with THE JUKEBOX. You got to get them trumpets. To much band to let SU bust that ass again.
