I don't think it's unreasonable for Nami to want to rescue Hachi. They did spend years together, and she would have seen his true nature up close. Yes, he was complicit in what happened to her village, but he was "just" a bystander for the most part, he wasn't the one actively harming her people. So while I get the desire for her to be more unforgiving, I think it also makes sense for her to not be too unmoved here, because she never held as deep of a hatred for him as for Arlong himself. Well, and also, she hasn't said she's forgiven him yet or anything, just that they'll save him :) For all her money obsession, Nami has always been quite selfless, so it would be more weird for her to make Camie suffer for Hachi's past misdeeds :)
@@WittlsonShe didn’t forgive Jinbe because to her, there was nothing for him to apologize for and thus nothing to forgive. Hatchi was still a relatively bad guy until recently. He knows he was complicit in the deeds of the Arlong pirates at the time; which was why he was so sorry about it. . In his cover story, he initially sells Camie to the Marco Pirates and only goes to rescue them when he thinks the Marco Pirates betrayed him; but after time spent with Camie he started to get won around, until eventually he decided to save a village of sentient catfish, and rejected his crush in order to feed a starving catfish elder.
I still find it way too rushed. I'm fine with her wanting to help Camie by freeing Hachi, especially since slavery is involved, but i disagree with reducing Hachi's role to a harmless bystander when he was one of the leaders who actively helped Arlong imprison a child, killing her mother and a lot of other innocent people. It's honestly a weird choice to have Nami call him harmless and act so casual about him as if he were just a goofy character. Also OT since Nami wouldn't know about it, while it's not mentioned in the anime, he sold Camie to the Macro Pirates before.
I think that the manga makes it more overt but Nami decides to help Hachi just to save Camie, which makes that decission more acceptable in the moment. Now for One Piece at a time: Hatchi may seem like a pushover but remember he said he was the second strongest swordsman in fishman island.

Honestly, Hachi was obviously complicit in what Nami went through, but he always seemed like a pretty "stupid" accomplice. He didn't directly harm her and she grew up with him, likely getting to know his personality. Making Nami being more okay with helping a fishman by removing him from the group that directly harmed her and her village and merely making him a reminder of it. There are other devices they can employ to keep his motivation the same, this just makes it less jarring from Nami's characterization perspective.
I think you're the fastest ones to guess who that was, from the reactions I've seen. Unrelated but I thought you guys might question who we(straw hats) are friendly with in the future because of the situation with Robin and with Bon,I get it and I also wouldn't be friendly with those people probably, but this varies from person to person, for example I've seen a father forgive his son's killer and people forgive other bad stuff in real life,so I can't use my metric with other people,I probably couldn't do it, but it does happen.
I now remember again that Hachi was not part of the Live Action series. How would be able to adapt Sabaody then? considering Hachi is one of the major characters in this arc!
I'll be honest, Nami forgiving Hachi aside, it's so weird how some in the comments act as if him, one of Arlong crew leaders, was just a harmless, silly bystander who didn't actively hurt or killed people on Nami's island🤨
@kingmarq3759 he was one of the leaders, he was perfectly fine with them imprisoning a child and there is no way he didn't actively participate in harming the villagers. He was shown happily killing those marines who came to help, and in the cover stories he sold Camie to Macro in the first place and only freed her when he thought they fooled him. He wasn't a harmless guy at all, though he did change later.
I doubt it. The fact is they did notice the blond hair in the moment, as evidenced by the fact they noticed it at all (note: this isn't something you can notice in the manga). Add this to the fact that they paid attention to the fact that Chopper knew, it makes sense that they managed to put things together. And they have admitted the points where they pretended not knowing something before (in order not to spoil each other when Robin became a straw hat), so it makes no sense that they would hide doing so now. And right after they still make errors due to not knowing the future, like the fact Duval was already a gangster before the poster came out. What I will say is, there's a jump cut before Lindsey realises. So it's possible they paused the anime in order to give them time to put a final guess in, but cut the video without the pause.
"Hachi's all right. He's actually harmless"...it's a pirate show, i have no problem with the Strawhats befriending questionable people, but i always found Nami acting so casual and forgiving with Hachi way too rushed. Just because he has a goofy design and personality it doesn't change the fact that he was fine with Arlong killing her mom and who knows how many other people on her island, and he helped keeping her as prisoner since she were a child. He was one of the leaders, not some harmless bystander. I think Oda could have handled this reunion better.
hmm, I see, a valid point...and yea Oda could have handled it better..I guess he wanted to explore this stuff with Nami, but held off.. some of the character moments in onepiece makes me question their mindset..but yea it is Oda's choice and not the characters lol.. I like to believe they are real but ahem.
@@lonewolf9325 I love One Piece, the story is great, but there are still moments like this when i think Oda is making characters act in a certain way or even occ simply for plot reasons(or gag reasons at times😅). In this case he probably just wanted to get to the Duval reveal and especially to the "meat" of the Sabaody arc faster.
Nami isn't forgiving him. Nami is saving him for Cami. Besides, Hatchi doesn't pose a danger for her or the village anymore. Her mother, her village, and all the suffering Nami experienced has already been avenged by Luffy.
@AstraViatrix it's the incredibly casual attitude i find weird, not the fact that she is forgiving him or not, or the reason why she is saving him. Calling Hachi harmless , with the knowledge she has, is just really weird for me.
Hachi was just fodder he really couldn't have changed anything but jimbei was directly responsible for arlong so she had every right to be pretty mad at him

He was shown happily killing those marines who came to help, and in the cover stories he sold Camie to Macro in the first place and only freed her when he thought they fooled him. He wasn't a harmless guy at all, though he did change later.
There's Carson's bad habit again. Why can't you trust Oda? Hachi will redeem himself in this arc.
Please take a note this you have to watch One Piece Episode 0 after 425. Episode 0 is actually Canon❤
Would you really think Nami would have time to think about her time with Arlong and his crew while she was in the Grand Line?
hell, why WOULD she talk about it? it was dealt with ages ago, and wasn't relevant at all.
The Three years Sanji said is incorrectt. From Luffy setting sail to where you guys are now has only been around 2 or 3 months.
I feel like u guys pre watched one piece
how and why?
If she's faking that laugh she deserves an oscar.
Lindsey is pre-watching with her strong future sight. The strongest colour of observation in the room.
😩
I won’t stand takoyaki slander

@bluelight17 yea...for plot reasons at times as well...plot devices.
I never understood how Nami forgave Hachi but had a hard time forgiving Jimbie 💀
Hachi was just fodder he really couldn't have changed anything but jimbei was directly responsible for arlong so she had every right to be pretty mad at him
she literally didn't know anything, for all she knew Jinbei had personally sent Arlong to attack the east blue for some reason
It's obvious they already watched the show, so disappointing but clever, making money by pretending xD
i don't see why they would? they've been reacting to tons of shows?
is it JUST because they realised the twist due to seeing Duval's hair from a distance shot?
@@sarafontanini7051 so many of their videos show them dropping hints here and there. If you dont see it then dont bother, i dont wanna ruin the illusion for anybody, im just here because i have a crush on lindsey xD
@@windmonk3233 if u watch plenty of anime u can pretty much already guess wht tropes gonna follow and wht direction story might go
