I love Audio HJ. The only thing i dislike about it, is the introduced latency from the noise cancelation. You can even see it in this video. :/

Thanks for sharing info! I've already been using Loopback for recording purpose but it was not enough especially for filtering&effect purpose.
I purchased Audio Hijack briefly after I used it as demo.

There is a bundle, but I don't think it's available as an upgrade (ie if you already bought one of them) unfortunatley.

Hi ,, I have pay attention you video, and is very interesting .. I would like to use with camtasia, to record my voice to make tutorials to improve my mic signal, what output should I use ?? Right now I'm using a service call Krisp to reduce noise , is excelent, you can put Spotify 5 cm near mic, and you won't hear any song, but it makes my voice dark, and I would like to have more clear. any ideas are wll come. ah! I bought a Corsair VOID ELITE RGB USB that all review say that had the best mic on any headphones

Hi Pepe, You may need to create a virtual device as the output. So, I have a Shure MV7, and then in Loopback I created a virtual device called "Processed MV7". This is set as my Output Device in Audio Hijack, and then in my other apps (in you case this would be camtasia) "Processed MV7 is set as my input.
If you have zoom installed, that usually creates a vitual audio device called "ZoomAudioDevice" (You may have other such virtual devices already on your system too.) If you do NOT intend to use this noise cancellation/mic setup with Zoom, you can actually select that as your output in Audio Hijack and then Select it as your input in Camtasia.... that would have the same effect.
I hope this helps, but if it still does not solve your problem and you need more help, please feel free to let me know! 😊

Is there a way to use Audio Hijack to help with including audio while I screen record? Currently, my workflow is to screen record with Quicktime for the video and then use Audio Hijack for the audio. But then I have to bring the screen recording and the audio into Final Cut to put the video and audio together and then export. I'm looking for a way to record video and audio at the same time without having to put them together after recording.

At the end of the video, you mentioned "loopback". Is that the app that I need to accomplish what I want?

HI there, Great channel! I bought Audio Hijack (the whole suite) 2 days ago after it being recommended and then watching your show. I'm using it with Zoom, but can't get rid of the echo no matter if I record in mono or stereo. There must be another step I'm missing. I am currently using the headphone out and the Mac mic on the way in. Maybe its a Loopback trick, as I haven't opened it yet. ???? any ideas???? Thanks in advance!

Is it "Include Audio Input" and/or "Split Between Channels?"

There are plug ins such as "Balance" and "Channels." Should I use these?

In my AH setup I have two signal paths; one for an Application (Safari which is running Zoom, and the other for MBP mic (I don't think it matters if I use this mic or another external one, but maybe I am wrong). I'll try and watch a few more videos (esp Loopback) today. . . .

Hi, glad you like the channel!
I’m trying to understand the exact issue you are having…
      1. When you say echo…. Do you mean background room echo, or is it that you are hearing your own voice back in your own headphones.
      2. When you say ‘Mac mic on the way in’ do you mean you are using the mac’s built in mic? If not, what kind of mic and how is it connected into your Mac?
      3. Are you using any other apps with this setup for zoom in addition to audio hijack (for example I use Ecamm live virtual cam with zoom)?

Click the contact page on my website www.TakeOneTech.io and send me a mail…. Think it may be easier if I see your signal chains in AH. 😊

I am stuck on creating a new output device - as you have for your "Processed MV7". Can't figure out how to do that. Can you help?

Hi David, I actually created the virtual audio device in Loopback, also by Rogue Amoeba... It is literally the default settings when creating the new virtual device in loopback, so it will show as a simple 'Pass-Thru'.... let me know if that makes sense or not!
Thanks for the coffee too! 🙏😊

@@TakeOneTech Thanks, Alec. I have only noodled around with LoopBack a tiny bit, but I will give it a go. Thanks for the direction.

    • @TakeOneTech

      Great, glad you've got loopback!!
So when you open it up, there is a button at the bottom left with a + symbol that says "New Virtual Device". Click that and look at the main pane on the right of the app.... under sources, you'll now have "Pass Thru'. and under Output channels you'll have "Channels 1 & 2". This is the default and is all you need for the original Audio Hijack question.
You have the option to give the device a name at the top....
Now, this will show up everywhere in your system as an audio device. So in Audio Hijack add this as an 'Output Device' at the end of your signal chain as per my video. Then whenever you want to use this processed signal, just select this virtual device in your app (Zoom, Teams Ecamm Live or whatever you are using).
One thing to note.... Loopback creates permanent connections at the system level... once you've set it up, you do not need to have loopback open.... it will just work in the background. Audio Hijack, on the other hand, needs to be running otherwise this virtual audio device will not be receiving any signal.
      Hope that helps. 😊

Hi. I'm wondering if you can assist me with setting up my loopback and audio hijack with my roadcaster pro 2. I do a lot of Zoom calls, and I set up a loopbk virtual mic so that the sound of the ecamm audio goes out to Zoom and then comes back loopbk into the ecamm to record. I purchased audio highjack for noise cancellation but I need help setting g it up right. Can you help me please?

So do I have to loopback as well or can I just use audio jack ?

    • @TakeOneTech
      @TakeOneTech  2 года назад

You can use Audio hijack on it’s own, but you may need LoopBack if you are going to be creating virtual audio devices, but it depends on your exact use case.
I have indeed used LoopBack with my setup because I created a ‘virtual mic’ that is my actual mic PLUS the processing.

@@TakeOneTech this is the part that isn’t very clear because you separated the two videos it’s hard to tell where in the chain this is and how you’re cheating from one to the other I’m assuming that this goes from your microphone to an output that is your mic and then that’s what you’re taking into loop back as your input Mic Source post process from audio hijack is that correct

Can I route from on mac to another? Lets say One mac connected to Xr18 and I want to route the audio to another mac which is running propresenter. Is that possible using hijack?
