The challenges and setbacks that our athletes faced in Paris are associated with “growing pains”. Our track and field athletes have just graduated from the “school of hard knocks “. Congratulations to all our athletes who showed have walked away from Paris with heads head high and the determination to never give up, never retreat, never surrender but take the lessons learned and apply. 2024 is an Olympic year and Shericka ran so many races last year. She was chasing the world record in the 200 and she contested both the 100 and 200 on the diamond league. I dont think they thought about the longterm which is the Olympics the following year, but suh it guh still. Shericka and Elaine have the potential to bring in 3 gold medals and they were both injured.

I just listened again and I think I get what you're saying. You're basically asking a rhetorical question. To that I say and have been saying for over a year when I respond to Franno detractors. We're going to miss Franno when he stops doing this thing. Even in a "down" year, he's the only Club that gave us a new breath of fresh air in Kishane to look forward to. We also feel good about Tia and the young prospects that we see on the horizon. What other Club in JA can say that. Enjoy Franno's abilities now because we will have some really lean years when he's gone.

@@kimanievans168 Yes...I see people starting clubs....but its more that just the "coaching". Its the ability to teach and the mind to innovate. Franno has displayed that above just "coaching". Others that have started their own clubs haven't really had any real success with their own athletes...YET. Look at it this way. Some teachers in schools are better than others even though they are teaching the same subjects. Some Chefs are better than others even though they learned from the same Culinary Institution. Jamaica's Cupboard will be vey bare when he leaves T&F.

The fact is that the big three always provided the bulk of the medals in their individual events as well as being a major factor in the 4x100 relays. From the moment all 3 had to pull out due to injury the writing was on the wall. The fact is that at this point in time the pool is not that deep so if they don't show up there is no one ready to step up to the plate and perform at a similar level. If the big three were healthy and dominated the sprints, as they usually do, we would not be having this reality check. Based on things Ato observed he predicted that our medal count would be well below par and for that he was vilified. People for the most part do not like to hear the bitter truth , they prefer to view everything through rose-tinted glasses in order to avoid accepting the unpleasant truth.

We bash the JAAA and rightly so because they have been doing what amount to a poor job in helping us to perform at our best but what about the athletes? Are they doing their best? Remember Bolt said it a few years ago enuh. According to him many of the younger athletes stop working hard and loose the drive to achieve greatness after getting a contract with a sponsor and a new car to drive. Could this still be the case? Could this be the reason we're not seeing the same results as before? Are they too young in their career for us to be expecting them to perform better? Could it be a changing if the guard? Is it a lack of financial and technical resources in the track clubs that's causing us to perform less than we seem to be capable of?

As a black american, it always amazes me how Jamaicans and white americans (culturally) are so much alike with the ways they do things, which is completely opposite of how most of we black americans do things. If something happens with we black Americans, we just directly address that issue, we call out things for what they are (based upon lengthy experiences, not our speculation), and we keep it moving without putting too much energy into it or trying to gang up on and bully someone/something. But, there is a lot of extreme propaganda, deflection from what happened, and arguing over moot points with lots of Jamaicans and white americans instead of simply addressing the issue and leaving it alone, especially here online where folks push their agenda/express their opinions. Everything seems to be a chronic case of “destroy someone” with a narrative on which some folks simply fixate.
In all seriousness, we black Americans never really think “the entire MVP track club or another are bad” or come up with huge theories as to why a result wasn’t achieved, then drag it on with all the extreme bitterness and anger…we just call things what they are and leave it at that, because people don’t listen to us anyhow. We do not have to bash the entire Track Club or act like something is really bad because their athletes didn’t achieve the desired result. We all know MVP is a phenomenal club that has rocked the entire worlds of we americans the past 17 years! MVP is doing just fine and Jamaica needs to be patient…the top athletes are either unhealthy now or aging, new folks are coming in, and it takes time to get them into shape. MVP will be better than ever, just like Racers. All the extreme narratives, the arguing, the fighting, the humiliation inflicted upon others, etc., is not necessary.
Actually, that’s what I think it is…the extreme narratives that I see from Jamaican culture and USA. It’s like the Noah thing, and ShaCarri also…now tons of Jamaicans are coming on here hating on ShaCarri and saying she is no good again since she finally lost a race this year now. I mean, people are so quick to utter something hateful and negative instead of simply saying, “ahhhh, we had a bad Olympics…let’s pray for better luck next time”. Instead, folks are making it like there is a big thing going on. There is no big thing going on…many of our athletes, Jamaican and American did not perform as we expected. Some performed better than expected, some performed far worse, and some simply did not perform. It’s like Noah and his girlfriend Junelle…Jamaicans will not leave that poor girl alone and she did absolutely NOTHING wrong…do you folks not have boyfriends/girlfriends/husbands/wives and say, “man, Kishane was fast as hell at practice…he’s gonna be GOOD when he stops getting injured”? I mean, these are normal, everyday conversations folks have, and Jamaicans are acting like she has committed treason or something…literally being evil bullies! It’s not like she is spying on Jamaica and giving Noah all the Jamaican secrets…common sense, but folks keep saying silly things to bully this young woman, and why? It’s like people are looking for something to be mad about, someone to be angry with, and invest way too much energy on unimportant things instead of just showing one another some love and keeping things positive. At the end of the day, Jamaica has amazing athletes, Jamaican Track Clubs are amazing, Jamaica will always bounce back in this sport because Jamaicans are either #1 or #2 in history of this sport (arguable with we black Americans), and we honestly have to stop putting down our athletes and track clubs & simply support them the next time around. This time is in the past and we can never get it back, but poor behavior on behalf of some can absolutely ruin the FUTURE of these people. So, I want everyone to be mindful and careful of how their words and actions can be more harmful than helpful. BTW, Kishane did win a medal for MVP.

You are lying to yourself. Jamaicans are like white Americans? 😂😂😂😂😂 No one is more straight forward than Jamaicans. You have had major issues in hip hop and black culture going back at least 60 years. When the reasons for it are highlighted and even black thinkers say it is due to culture and not primarily racism you guys lose your minds. You don't know Jamaicans. It is as simple as that.

So I appreciate your epistle. However, where in this video was there a put down on mvp? If you listened the video clearly you would have heard me stating mvp and elite got sprint medals so clearly I am aware of which club Kishane runs for. After all you people look at titles and start to drop comments without understanding. The point I am making from this video is that mvp and racers have been giving jam so many medals and because they under perform it’s like our medal count drop. So I can’t comprehend where this bs of putting down blacks come from in your lengthly but baseless thesis.

But to answer your question, this person above just proved my point, and while you call my post baseless, someone literally just proved my point above and you “liked” the comment. Do better black Jamaicans…this is shameful behavior and proves my point about Jamaican mistreatment of black americans! Of all people, Jamaicans are amongst the last folks who should keep spreading racist white american propaganda, but you’re both doing that here with this person saying this nonsense and you supporting that post! At this point in time, Jamaicans need to honor their athletes whether they win medals or not. What you don't appreciate will depreciate. For a country of less than 3 million citizens to have dominated athletics for decades the way Jamaica has done is phenomenal. To put it into perspective, America has a population of over 300 million, and China has a population of over 1.4 billion. In what many Jamaicans are calling their worst Olympics, they still walked away with medals of every color, while far bigger nations had absolutely nothing. (2) I don't understand what you mean by MVP had no medals: Kishane Thompson is from MVP and got a silver medal. Now the Jamaican athletics association should have contested the medal given to Kishane. In my opinion he should have shared the gold medal position with Noah Lyles, the method the IOC used, from my understanding, is not used for a final. In the past, high jumpers from different nations have shared gold medals because they both jumped the same hight. Right now there is a dispute going on in gymnastics over the bronze medal awarded to Jordan Chiles over her floor routine. Finally, please Jamaicans, honor your athletes even when they can't perform at your expectations. Life happens to everyone. The setbacks of today are many times the building blocks for tomorrow's triumphs.

We have always punched above our weight and especially since 2008. We have been doing better than bigger nations for a long time. Naturally persons have been drawn to the sport since then and expect the same performance from the athletes each Championships. Nothing is wrong with that. Winner want to win. And those repping 🇯🇲 will be judged by those standards. Nothing is wrong with that either.
I agree that the JAAA should have contested the 100m finals results with fact based on the rules in hand. Why they didn't is beyond me.
To prove the point the Bronze medal was taken back from the American and awarded to the other athlete after they lodged a counter protest.

Oblique will NEVER do well so long as he stays with Mills. Such a pity because he really has the potential; it’s just that Mills is not capable of producing a top flight athlete. His best was Raymond Stewart who was unable to finish higher than 4th. Bolt’s and Blake’s were not his achievements; he inherited them. Look at the hundreds of promising athletes who flocked to him mostly after Bolt’s achievements, but didn’t they all fail? Oblique was trying to change Mills’ horrible track record, but he’s turning out to be just another Raymond Stewart!

She got injured and had to leave Paris in disappointment without achieving a single thing, which proves my point that nothing is guaranteed with MVP. You'll simply believe that Franno is God and will always be able to solve everything, well you now see that he's not God, he can't solve everything. Also, you all need to take into account that Elaine achilles injury started at MVP, it didn't start after she left, she's just feeling all the after effect now, so you'll are partly responsible. You have to take your share of blame for Elaine going downhill.
